I've recently encountered a strange thing while playing ME3 on my Windows 7 laptop. I'm a big fan of the series and I've played 1 and 2 with no problems at all. However, there's an issue going with ALT+Tabbing. I know some games are not meant to work this way but that is a really strange case. I could minimize Mass Effect 1, the full window restoration would take some time though. I could also minimize ME2 and restore it in mere seconds. Mass Effect 3, I just can't restore it. It stays on the taskbar, I can click it endlessly but it won't come up. And right when I thought this is a one-game issue, I accidentally tried again and it worked. I could minimize/restore Mass Effect 3 in a couple seconds. But it only worked this one time.
recently the problem started to occur. Basically, the windows maximize and minimize slowly sometimes. When i restart the laptop the problem usually gets fixed.
- I recently updated my graphics cars as well : ATI Mobile Radeon 5600..
- Windows updates are automatic as well
Laptop Specs:
Sony Vaio E series Operating: Win 7 Home Premium (64 Bit) , i3 RAM: 4 GB
I've had this problem for a while where occasionally when I boot up my laptop (Dell XPS), the windows would maximize and minimize in slow motion and all my games run in slow motion. A restart usually fixes the problem.I've looked for solutions in the past but the problem always comes back. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the problem is or how to fix it.
I recently got Mass Effect for christmas and was going to use it on my Windows 7 laptop. I got it installed, but when I go to play and it checks the configuration, it brings up a small box that says "Mass Effect has stopped working". I've tried running it as the admin, but tha doesn't work either.
I saw on a similar problem board that someone told them to check to see if they had ME1 PC patches installed...but I have no idea what that means, or how to get the patches to install them.
I keep looking for help, but these people are all people wh KNOW what they're doing. They're talking about OH it's the UAC or the DSP or the ABC or whatever. Well, those words don't mean a thing to me because it's all letters in my eyes. So if you help me,could you keep it simple?
I recently reformatted my laptop and did the necessary steps in order to ensure everything was back on track. Unfortunately, yesterday when I tried to play Mass Effect 2 on Steam, my computer shut down without a BSOD or any other error message. I thought it might have been an overheating issue (I have never had an issue like this with my ASUS laptop, even while it was overclocked to the max through the ASUS utility). I figured it might be a one off, and decided to give it another go. Unfortunately, it happened again 20 minutes later as well.I was hoping someone can help me decipher the Event Viewer information and whatever else you may need, so I can fix the issue and beat Mass Effect 2 before the third one comes out.
im getting bsod errors mostly when playing games like mass effect 3 on my acer 5738g notebook. im getting these errors very recently and had no sort of problems in the past. i have attached the complete dump and also sfc log.Sys Spec:Windows 7 32bitIntel core 2 duo processor4GB RAM320GB HDDNVIDIA G105M G-card with 512 dedicated vram
I was browsing [URL]and saw that mass effect and mass effect 2 were 75% off on GamersGate (expires in two hours)Wasn't after I purchased it when I wondered to myself if I'm going to be missing out on stuff because I didn't get it through Steam...
I use the IE browser. Although I have it set on maxim window size, all my web sites initially come on reduced size and I have to click on the maximizing window. Anyone know how to have max window sizes all the time?
Don't know why, but when I try and drag a window to the top of my screen to 'maximize' it, Windows 7 will minimize it to the bottom of the screen instead - where just the title bar is showing.
So i got my laptop battery replaced since the last one died up on me and fortunately laptop was under warranty so DELL was kind enough to send me a free replacement battery.ow then maybe i was not following proper charging procedure/or overcharging my battery.o the question arises how to maximize the battery life and whats the proper procedure of battery charging??Yes i know there are tons of claims and counter claims regarding the "perfect" charging steps and guides. To all experts here, just wanted your comments on the same.
Whenver I maximize a window it goes across all three screens, now that is okay for video games but not so much for the internet or other programs. Whenever I open a program it is opened very small and I have to manually adjust to windows to each screen, and it kind of gets annoying. So is there a way that I can change a setting or something that when I maximize my window it will only maximize on the screen that I have the window open on?I am running Windows 7 btw.
Is there a way to prevent a reduced window from maximizing when it it dragged to the top of the screen? It seems I have run across how to do this somewhere but darned if I can find it again.
How do I get the picture to maximize automatically when I click on a desktop icon with Internet Express as the default browser. With Google Chrome as the default browser, it works fine.
With widescreen monitors, which are pretty much the standard these days, there is always plenty of horizontal space, it's the vertical space that is at more of a premium. To take advantage of this I've done 2 things - First, I moved my taskbar to the left side of the screen, this gives me that much more vertical space in all programs.
The second thing is program-specific. I use Firefox and I certainly spend more time in it than any other program. I've installed 2 two add-ons, Vertical Bookmarks Toolbar and Compact Menu. They do just what their names imply - the first places my bookmarks toolbar to the left (or right, if you prefer) of the screen, the second compacts my entire Menu toolbar to a small icon that sits in the upper-left corner of the address bar. Getting rid of these 2 horz menu bars gives one a nice little chunk of additional real estate. It takes a bit getting used to, but once you do, it's great.
On occasion, when FF7 has been maximize, the Windows 7 taskbar (locked and set to autohide) can not be brought up with a hovering cursor. To get it back while in max screen, I have to fiddle around with minimizing and maximizing while bringing up the taskbar when it is visible...a real PITA, eh? Although I have researched this problem and have found out it goes back at least 5 years, I have yet to see a solution?
I just installed a program that for some reason changed my Windows 7 theme. Before, when I minimized (or opened) a program, it would "slowly" minimize (with kind of a trail left behind). Now, it "quickly" minimizes without any "smoothness". It's kind of bothering me now, and I can't figure out how to re-enable that feature. I've reset the theme back to what it was originally, but just this one feature is missing. Anyone know how to get this back?
I`m trying to run DX-BALL Game in windows 7 ultimate on a Toshiba Satellite laptop but the game keeps on minimising itself. I know it`s an old game so i`ve tried running it in every conceiveable compatibility mode but no luck. I had it running on another Toshiba Satellite laptop on windows 7 ultimate without a problem. The display adapter is: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family.I`ve uninstalled and re-installed several times but still no good, it`s annoying as i had it running perfectly on another toshiba laptop.
If I start up any application that i have to type in, every minute or so it is like the mouse clicks off the window and I cant type until I click on the application again. Same thing with any Full Screen application, (game, video, ETC.). While an application is running full screen, every minute or so the application minimizes and I have to restore it. If its a video, it will take it out of full screen but it keeps playing.
I just got latest version of windows 7 installed on my new msi gx620 laptop and I am having one problem. Any window I have open whether its a game or firefox it randomly minimizes. Very annoying when I am trying to play games. I am not hitting any buttons or anything to cause this.
Hey i just installed windows 7 home 64 bit on a new computer i built, i did recycle my old hard drive, however i wiped it clean with the OS install. the problem is every 5 Mins or so any program i have open will minimize.
I have a problem that's backwards to most questions that I've seen. I have two windows, say Window A and B. Buttons for both show on my taskbar. In the past, I've been able to toggle between the two by clicking on the taskbar button for the window that is on top. So, if window A is on top, I could click on its taskbar button and that would minimize window A to the taskbar, showing window b. When I wanted to see window A, again, I could click on its taskbar button, and it would again display window A on top of window b.Now, when I click the taskbar button for window a, the window minimizes to the System Tray, instead of the taskbar. The toggle function that I found so handy is broken.
I have noticed that when I close some programs, like HardDiskSentinal (by clicking the red "X" in the upper right corner) that they do not actually close, but instead minimize into the system tray. I was wondering if there was a way to make any application do this. If possible I would like to do this without installing another application.
I have a dual monitor setup with my 'left' monitor as my main screen. I don't want to make my second monitor the main screen. I would like to make it so that if Im watching something on the 'left monitor' in full screen, and I click something in the 'right' monitor (not main display), that my video will stay full screen instead of going to windowed mode.
I have installed the latest drivers, reinstalled the program, and all that jazz and the problem still persists. Pretty much when I minimize or exit from a game I play called EVE Online, my LCD remains really dark. Kind of as if someone turned down the brightness really low on the LCD. I've figured out 2 workarounds but they aren't fixes.
I simply log out and log back in and the display brightens to its usual brilliance or I hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and it has the same effect. But once I maximize the game and minimize again the screen darkens once more. Oh and in-game everything is perfect, it's only once I go to the desktop. Any ideas? I personally think its a something wrong with the refresh rate but I ahve no clue as to how to fix that.
I've been using this windows 7 desktop for over a year, and everything has been fine until the past few days. When I minimize a program or when i maximize it when it is minimized, the program lags. For example, when I am running firefox and when i click the minimize button, instead of firefox minimizing in a swift motion, it minimizes slowly in other words, lagging. Also, when I play Warcraft the game lags. It lags in a really strange way, almost as if the game is drifting around when I move my mouse. Usually when games lag, the controls you make respond slowly, or it is in a jerky kind of way. I've tried restarting my computer many times, and all is well for the first 15 mins or so, before this lag kicks in.
I'll be in a game, and press caps. The window will minimize. This has never happened before. Also, when I click my cursor into a bar to type, then press caps, the blinking cursor thing goes away, and I must re click into the bar to continue typing.
When I'm minimizing a full screen video-game, I can't re-open it. This problem appear on all my video game but not with my Internet browser or other programs who are not full screen. I have not changed anything on my computer and this problem has appeared today. I tried ALT - TAB and it doesn't work too. Each time I'm minimizing my full screen game to check my desktop or something... I need to close completely et re-start it.
When I have multiple windows open [i.e. outlook is open with 4 emails open as well] and I hover over the Outlook folder in the toolbar which then shows previews of all the emails, I want the ability to close a single email and keep the others previewed. Right now, if I close one, the other open ones "auto minimize" I know this is an option as I've seen it operated the way I want it.
I've had this issue for a few days now. Any game I play or any movie I watch, if its on full screen, it will lose focus or minimize to desktop within 1-2 minutes. There are no error messages, and I can't find a single thing to help me. Yesterday, I downloaded a registry cleaner, and after it cleaned the errors, I could use full screen apps very well. Then I shut my computer down for the night, and when I woke up today, and started the computer, the problem started as well. [code]
