I recently reformatted my laptop and did the necessary steps in order to ensure everything was back on track. Unfortunately, yesterday when I tried to play Mass Effect 2 on Steam, my computer shut down without a BSOD or any other error message. I thought it might have been an overheating issue (I have never had an issue like this with my ASUS laptop, even while it was overclocked to the max through the ASUS utility). I figured it might be a one off, and decided to give it another go. Unfortunately, it happened again 20 minutes later as well.I was hoping someone can help me decipher the Event Viewer information and whatever else you may need, so I can fix the issue and beat Mass Effect 2 before the third one comes out.

I am getting BSODs while playing games. They are irregular and can happen every half hour or several hours in between.
Rig is:
Asus Sabertooth P67 (latest bios 3029, after installing these more problems occured)
Intel i5 CPU
Nvidia Geforce 9800GT
Corsair Vengeance 4gb x 4
All drivers are the latest. Graphics, chipset, SATA, BIOS and so forth. I have run both memtest86 which showed no errors in individual testing of the memories but when I had them all in and ran it an error showed up. I have done the chkdsk. Both /f /r and without it. Did show up errors but claims to be fixed now.
Ntoskrnl is the driver that always shows up. What I really need to know is if this is a hardware or driver problem. My biggest question is if it is a motherboard issue or not. I had bsod problems before I updated BIOS but they happened more frequently after. Attaching the three latest minidumps.

I recently got Mass Effect for christmas and was going to use it on my Windows 7 laptop. I got it installed, but when I go to play and it checks the configuration, it brings up a small box that says "Mass Effect has stopped working". I've tried running it as the admin, but tha doesn't work either.
I saw on a similar problem board that someone told them to check to see if they had ME1 PC patches installed...but I have no idea what that means, or how to get the patches to install them.
I keep looking for help, but these people are all people wh KNOW what they're doing. They're talking about OH it's the UAC or the DSP or the ABC or whatever. Well, those words don't mean a thing to me because it's all letters in my eyes. So if you help me,could you keep it simple?

I've recently encountered a strange thing while playing ME3 on my Windows 7 laptop. I'm a big fan of the series and I've played 1 and 2 with no problems at all. However, there's an issue going with ALT+Tabbing. I know some games are not meant to work this way but that is a really strange case. I could minimize Mass Effect 1, the full window restoration would take some time though. I could also minimize ME2 and restore it in mere seconds. Mass Effect 3, I just can't restore it. It stays on the taskbar, I can click it endlessly but it won't come up. And right when I thought this is a one-game issue, I accidentally tried again and it worked. I could minimize/restore Mass Effect 3 in a couple seconds. But it only worked this one time.

I've been getting BSODs randomly while playing Arma 2 with the Dayz mod. At first I thought it must be something with the game but I've also gotten BSODs playing Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad but I've also played other games like Portal 2 without problems. Thinking it might be driver related I did a fresh install of windows but to no avail.Half the time the game will crash randomly anywhere from 10 minutes of play to 4 hours giving a 0x000005 exception code. The other half of the time my computer will hang and BSOD giving me a different bccode almost every time. The most recent is 10007e and the only other one I remember is d1 which is one of the few that I've gotten multiple times. The Windows Desktop Manager has also crashed twice but I'm not sure it that is related. It was custom built a year ago and was problem free until about a month ago when the BSODs start. They stopped for a while but started again about a week or two ago.

I started getting BSOD two weeks ago. As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.

I never get the bluescreen doing anything but playing games and it's not often but it happens about twice a week. It crashes and WhoCrashed or Bluescreen view always points to ntoskrnl.exe or ntkrnlmp.exe or hal.dll it's always two of those 3. Other than games it runs fine. I did all the memory tests for 3 days and tried the best I could re-seat stuff. It's an alienware so they have it all secured in a way that makes it difficult to get around, and the case weighs around 105 lbs or something crazy.

I have been having BSOD for a while now and need some help resolving them. [code] I have tried updating drivers and and even re-formated windows and reinstalled everything, but still getting the blue screens. It seems to me that the problem started when i installed the geforce nvidia 295.73 drivers, but im not sure this was the original problem. I have tried reinstalling nvidia 265.58 through the newest 296.10. they all seem to give BSOD. Thought it seems more frequent with the newer drivers. Today i have had 4 BSOD while playing Skyrim.I am not sure why but a dump file is not always created only about 50% of the time. I am posting the ones that i have. I am also posting the system health check and the Dump system file collection from jcgriff2.

I've been getting these BSOD's for more than 6 months now.At first I ran memtest for an entire night, and it gave allot of errors, so I replaced 3x1GB RAM for 2x4GB,I think it could also be the CPU, but I don't know how to test that.Is Windows 7 - x86 (32-bit) or x64? x64 - the original installed OS on the system? no, it came with vista - an OEM or full retail version? full retail - OEM = came pre-installed on system - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer - What is the age of system (hardware)?4 years I think, I can't remember really - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)I had windows 7 for a while on it before I got any BSOD's, I renstalled windows 7 but it didn't fix the BSOD's.

first time poster looking for help as I can't diagnose my issue after trying numerous things. Currently when I play a game the BSOD happens randomly, I can go a whole day without it, or it can happen frequently. It happens the most when I close or exit a game, then it'll kick to a blue screen. I really appreciate what you guys do and I hope I followed all the instructions right on how to post my logs and stuff, here's the attachment and some basic system specs.

when playing some games, my computer sometimes becomes distorted and reboots, showing the BSOD. This has generally started happening over the last two months, after I installed a new graphics card. Though previously, I didn't really play PC games, so It's hard to say if that's even the reason. It usually only happens once every few days, and only at some games at that. However, I started playing Tribes yesterday, and every time I play it, I get a blue screen within 10 minutes of play without fail. I've tried to see if there are any correlations between the BSODs and what I'm doing, but there doesn't seem to be. The only unusual thing is how often it happens when playing Tribes, a game that isn't nearly as processor, memory or graphically extensive compared to other games I've played without fault. The error, to my knowledge, has always been the same. With the blue screen stating some Uncorrectable Hardware Error. This is what I believe to be the error code in the Event Viewer.

I've been experiencing very frequent BSODs while playing my games. I rarely get the BSODs if I avoid playing my games altogether, hence I suspect it has to do with my video card, or updating its driver or something. Anyway, please see attached report from WhoCrashed. I've also attached the actual dump files for your perusal.

I have had this problem ever since my dad built this computer and even he has no idea what has happened. I am not a computer genius but I came across the windows helps forum so now I am deciding to give it a try. This blue screen occurs most when I am playing games or when I am trying to rate my computer's assesment through the windows experience index sometimes it would say windows assesment tool has stopped responding in the middle of the test, but I think I have finally solved it through the clean boot method that windows has shown me. But the BSOD still happens and I do not know why.

i have been getting blue screens only while playing video games after about 20-40 min. I have been able to stop them, but to do so i have to set up a huge fan next to my computer. So i assumed the problem was from overheating. However, i recorded the temperatures with speed fan. These were the highest temperatures i noticed while playing games just before they give me a BSOD.GPU:77CTemp 1:82CTemp 2:49CTemp 3:-128CHDO: 40CCore:74CNow i don't know very much about computers but those temperatures dont seem very high for running high graphics video games.I also wrote down the error on the blue screen.STOP: 0x0000001E (0x0000000000000000,0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)I tried to upload the dump files but im a noob.

So before I begin, here are the stats of my laptop.Asus G60JX, Windows 7 - x64, Nvidia Geforce GTS 360M -OEM -1 1/2 years old. Have never reformatted or reinstalled OS. So i've had this gaming laptop for around 1 1/2 years old and it's been blue screening since as long as i can remember. I should have taken the laptop back but at that time i was not very knowledgeable about computers (still aren't), and didn't know how bad BSOD's were. As far as the BSOD's go, it actually doesn't occur too frequently, maybe like once every month or so. But, it has happened on a consistent basis, ever since as long as i can remember. 95% of the time, the BSOD's occur while playing games.
