Many Webpages Not Loading After OS Re-install?
Dec 14, 2012
I had to reinstall my OS (completely format it and wipe everything in HDD)...So after some searching i finally was able to reinstall my OS, and install most of the drivers. But after re-installing windows 7...the internet browsing speed has become extremely slow...Many webpages dont load at all...Torrents work at 100% speed...I have tried to connect to my pc manufacturers(dell) website and it takes forever to load...many common websites like malwarebytes, utorrent etc also dont load...Using different DNS servers(google, OPENDNS) didnt help much...So i thought that the problem might be with one of the drivers...In device management screen most of the drivers are installed...But for 1 driver there is an exclamation mark...I don't know what device it is..The driver name is "other devices->PCI simple communication controller".. what driver needs to be installed? i can't connect to dell website..So is there any other way i can update my driver?

I've been having this issue for 2 days now, and it is happening on IE9, FF, and Chrome. It does not happen with every webpage I navigate to, but it sure is a lot of them. (freelancer.com and techguy.com are prime examples). Sometimes they will load. Sometimes it will show up "Web Page Not Found". Other times it'll pull up the Yahoo! Search page as if I were searching for it (which i clearly typed in Freelancer.com - Hire Freelancers & Find Freelance Jobs Online). Things I've tried so far: Resetting my router. Resetting my modem. clearing all cache and cookies on all 3 browsers. Clearing any registry errors. Running CCleaner. Flushing my DNS settings again. Nothing seems to be working. I have my internet (cable modem, running 18-20mbps) direct connected to my Playstation 3, and I have 2 desktops connected, issue does not seem to be happening with the PS3, but both desktops are experiencing the issue. Both running Windows 7 Ult 32bit OS.

I have a new desktop running win 7 64bit pro. After doing a fresh install the only thing I did was remove the trial version of Norton AV. Now many pages will not load in either IE9 or chrome. Some pages load but when you try to click on links. Our other laptops on my network can browse the internet without any problems. Pages that load on them will not load on this new desktop.
The desktop is connect to the network via ethernet cable.
I've been able to download and receive windows updates. I was able to download google chrome. I can get to Google but I when I click on the links the pages will not load, it just sets there and never gives me any error.

I'm trying to get windows 7 ultimate on a new WD SATA hard drive. I get through the installation process which recognizes the drive and lets me install on it and seems to fully install. When it automatically restarts and the windows loading screen should appear, the computer just restarts itself and doesn't even let me get to windows.I've tried messing around with some of the BIOS settings, but I'm no expert in that and I seem to be running out of options.I've tried installing the x64 and x82- both give the same problem. One potential thing I'm seeing is that after the initial screen showing my computer specs on start up, I have a RAID screen which AFAIK shouldn't really matter too much since I'm just using one HD, but it does not detect any drives. Going into the RAID setup I can't change anything either because it needs to install something (which I can't - no floppy) or it won't let me for this configuration. My motherboard is a Foxconn 915G7AC/P7AC (unfortunately not the best when it comes to drivers and support stuff, hey - it was cheap and had good reviews when I bought it!)4 Gigs of RAM.My cd/dvd drive is SATA as well, in case that matters (from what I've read searching around other drives being SATA or IDE had some sort of effect)

I'm at my wits end now though, After several attempts at installing Win 7 RC (64bit) I realised it wouldn't let me becasue I hadn't added the latest drivers for my motherboard. Now it appears to have installed but whenever windows starts, it reboots at the point where the first 'red dot' appears (the four colours swirl in to make the window).
I ran in safe mode and it appears to reboot whenever it gets as far as 'system32/drivers/disk.sys'
I have installed to three different HDD, both IDE and SATA. All clean before the start. I've used an IDE DVD drive and a USB external, and my BIOS is totally up to date. I've now striped the PC of everything none essential.
The latest drivers for the motherboard are the Vista 64bit variety because there are no windows 7 drivers (that I could see).
P.S. I also obtained a copy of the 90day release version of 64bit Ultimate, which a friend has successfully installed on his Vista laptop. I've tried installing this with all the same configs and same problem every time.

Some might remember I posted a few days ago about installing Windows 7 (64bit) separately on this same comp (different hard drive) to test what drivers worked for the devices I had, in particular the Canon scanner.
Anyway it worked, and I booted into Windows 7 64b fine - but I had a few issues getting back into 32-bit one (64bit one became the active boot. even after i used diskpart and bcdedit etc.
Anyway, I got the 32-bit install to again load as the default (and deleted the 64-bit partition). BUT, I keep getting the Vista booting screen - i.e. the small green loading bar instead of the elaborate "Starting Windows'. I then put in the Windows 7 dvd in and went to repair the install (to try & get the Windows 7 boot screen back), but it wouldnt even find the OS install to repair it.
So basically, its back to the 32bit Windows 7 install fine - but with the older Vista loading screen. Any ideas?

Loaded 7Ultimate and got to Install screen. Selected drive and made new partition. Clicked next. Received error: Quote: Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more info. I don't know how to get to the logs, but what does this message mean? I have tried almost 6 or 7 times and even once with my 7 Home edition disk. Ran the startup repair a couple times. Tried formatting the drive from my XP Pro sp3 disk.So now here's where the real problem comes in: ERROR LOADING OPERATING SYSTEM. Now I can't get back into XP! Tried booting from ERD Commander 05, but I get an error code 4096 with that, and "File SETUPREG.HIV could not be loaded".How can I get XP back to booting properly? Maybe it's a faulty hard drive and needs returning. But it is extremely important that I get this computer back up and running immediately.

Or if its hardware related. So far I only get blue screens when my firewire sound card is connected and I'm running Cubase. But I don't wanna blame the sound card - it's too expensive for that Before reinstalling windows last BSOD was pointing related to OrangeWare Corp. (usbehci.sys) - I have NO idia what this file is.Could it be my PSU? 2 years old 560w Hiper - Supposed to be high quiality.Should I run my memory using bios XMP profile? Tried it once, but the cpu got hotter so i disabled it.

Until about 2 months ago my friend's Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit laptop was working fine with a wireless connection to an Edimax home router. Then he started to get problems accessing some web pages - note he can generally access the sites but some pages will not load - eventually IE8 or FF4 will timeout and the troubleshooter will engage and eventually say it cannot find a problem. One such site is www.hpb.co.uk where he can get the home page up but when he enters his logon info it just sits there and looks at him. Another strange happening is with Hotmail where, going through the web interface, he can access his inbox perfectly but if he tries to access the Calendar or his Profile the page just sits there again. The Windows Live 2011 Mail client cannot connect and comes up with error code 0x80048820 but none of the solutions I can find for this code seem to resolve the problem (neither do they explain exactly what this return code means, but that is another issue).
We don't think it is the router that is the problem because we have had a replacement one from the vendor and it gives the same problem. We installed FF4 after the problems started but it immediately suffered from the same problem. We have tried resetting the DNS Cache, the IE settings - we've cleared out all the IE temp files - once after doing this the problem went away for a couple of days! but further attempts do not get us working again.

I have a family friend that emailed me about computer issues (we all know how that is), but this one is new to me and wanted to see if anyone had some suggestions before I made the 45 minute drive out to see them.
You will find the screenshot below. As you can see, they are getting lines across the screen but in a way that I have never seen before. Now, i am holding their words loosely, but they state that this only happens in the web browser. Looking at the screenshot I can see the line are contained within the browser window, as the IE tabs and window at the top of the screen are intact and normal.

I'm not sure what's wrong with my computer, and that's a first for me. In Windows 7 whenever I try to visit a webpage through a browser the page will not load. The three browsers I have installed are IE, Chrome, and Firefox. None of them are able to show webpages, but Chrome does give me an error 137. I've already scanned Windows 7 for any viruses, malware, etc., and I've found nothing.
Now the tricky thing is that I'm able to ping websites without any issue, and system updates work fine as well. In Jolicloud and Kubuntu I'm able to surf the web without a problem. I've already scanned Windows 7 for any viruses, malware, etc., and I've found nothing.
I believe the root of the problem is that I incorrectly uninstalled the program Net Nanny, causing it to block all Internet browsing.

When I try to do a clean install of Windows 7 I get the loading files white progress bar you normally get during an installation, it then goes directly to the scrolling progress bar that would normally appear before a Windows startup, and then goes to a blank Windows 7 desktop with only a cursor (that I can move).I have a computer with the following specs:[CODE]I have tried to install with every version I can get my hands on, both 32 and 64 bit. None of them are upgrade versions. I've tried installing on a fresh WD Raptor and an Intel G25 SSD. All other drives have been disconnected. I've moved my memory around and tried with one stick. My mainboard has the latest official BIOS, although there is a new beta.
I ran the Windows 7 compatibility test and didn't see anything that would cause this problem.I have searched the internet and have not been able to find a solution sonstalling Windows XP has never been a problem, just Windows 7, always with the same problem. This is one of the few times when I have not been able to look around a find an existing answer to a problem and I am stumped.

My wife has a Compaq Pressario CQ61. The other day, out of the blue, anything viewed through her browser overwhelms the browser window. Changing the size of the window does not help. I tried adjusting the resolution from the Control Panel. This did not help. I'm not sure what happened so for an amateur, it is challenging finding a remedy. We are running Windows 7.

I performed a system recovery very recently on my HP Pavilion (Running Windows 7 OS). I re-installed Chrome as my default browser and my other programs. Lately, whenever I open my browser or any of my other programs, every page starts minimized and I have to use the maximize button to get a normal view. This was not the case previously and I do not know what has been changed in the system. Frequently, I use AVG PC Tuneup to clean up junk files, clean the registry, and defragment the disks. Is there a setting that is perhaps being erased by all the cleaning?

Most web sites that I try to visit cause an error to display at the bottom of the screen - A problem displaying xxxx.com caused internet explorer to refresh the web page using compatibilty view. The problem is that even though it's using compatibility mode, it usually only displays the web site header info, there's no detail. This happens on most web sites. I have another pc with Windows 7 and IE9 and have no problems. I compared the settings and everything looks OK.

I am running Windows 7 Home premium; 64 bit with IE9 Beta. I was able to print normally after I first bought/started up this Dell laptop but then a month or so later, whenever I attempted to print email or webpages, I would get the following error dialogue box: "An error has occured in the script on this page. Line-2036, Char-1, Error-the server threw an exception, Code-0, URL-res//iefrme.dll/preview.js". Wireless connectivity to the printer; I am able to print a test page. If I choose to open my IE browser with "Run as Administrator", the printer WILL print email/webpages: normal print process. Question: what do I need to do to fix the problem so when I log in as a regular user the printer will work?
