I've tried updating drivers and such. My next step is a full reinstall.After the initial crash it seems to randomly BSOD unless I attempt to run windows update which nearly always kills it.

keeps on happening every time i play skyrim or any other game, i re-installed the hardware drivers for my graphics card but it still seems to happen?
I've had a nightmare with my computer over the last week with various random crashes whilst play Rift. Now I am struggling to even get past the starting video for Skyrim as the game is freezing and crashing (with the dreaded BSOD). When I see the screen it mentions the atikmpag.sys error.

I was playing Skyrim when it first blue screened. Soon after, it blue screened when browsing. Now, it is blue screening over and over again on start up.

I've been getting BSOD everytime I run a game which is graphic intense(like skyrim).I am using Alienware M17x with dual SLI with dual NVIDIA GTX 280m. I used to have a broken adaptor so I've been using a lower voltage adaptor that did not charge the laptop and used the Geforce 9800. This problem has been occuring ever since I got my new adaptor and has been using the 280m.

I thought it was just Skyrim, so I stopped playing that and just left it for a while. my computer is giving me a hard time with all this BSOD.It works fine when im just surfing the net or watching videos, but when Im playing games like Skyrim, ME3 or Witcher 2 it just suddenly hangs and BSODs.The least time for this to happen is 20 mins and the longest time for this to happen is 4 hours. I was playing Skyrim last weekend, and the game froze on a black screen just as it was cutting to a kill animation. I had to restart the computer but when Windows loaded I had a BSOD. The computer booted fine up till this point.I've been looking up causes and fixes all week, and the dump files seem to suggest a 0x116 Video_TDR_error. I've attached all the requested information.I've already tried installing several different graphics drivers - the newest, the one supplied with the card, and one between. Windows and DirectX were fully up to date. I've also tried formatting the hard drive and installing Windows fresh, twice. I've had the computer back to the state it arrived in, when the drivers worked fine, and I've tried it with only the video drivers installed. Everything I try now is still resulting in the same BSOD.I can only get Windows to load in Safe Mode, or if I go into Device Manager and disable my graphics card. I am now fairly convinced the card itself is the problem, and I'm looking for confirmation before I go and get a new one fitted.The computer was new at the end of November. I had the same Windows install since then, but now I'm running a fresh install.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got Windows 7 64 bit Home user premium on a Compaq Presario Cq61 Laptop. Bootup is reasonable in terms of time and log on screen appears reasonably quickly. The welcome screen takes 1 minute before going to the desktop. After that it runs really slow for about 5 minutes. There is a lot of disc activity but I don't know what service, etc is causing it. I de fragged, run system file checker, used MS config to ensure only 6 startup items and turned off numerous services but still can find out what is running in the background for so long. After 5 mins the machine runs well. I do use Avast anti virus and it loads a definition file on startup. I disabled that setting to manual update only but it made no difference. I don't use any other anti virus.

View 9 Replies View Relatedive been getting BSODs and finally figured out how to debug it with WinDbg (x86) and set the symbols for windows but i cant read the text. ive tried reinstalling my GPU and Java but no luck. when i try to run intel driver update utility as soon as i run it i get a BSOD ive got the minidump here if anyone knows how to read it, so here you go.

Wife was playing Lord of the Rings Online on the PC while I was at work and got a BSOD twice within 20 minutes. In the past month I have installed an SSD and upgraded my RAM, but I'm REALLY hoping that's not the culprit. Could I get some help making sense of the minidumps (attached)? Getting this BSOD when starting it up in the morning. I tried to install Max Payne 3, but in the ending of installation my PC just freeze and restart. I didnt know what is wrong, so i tried to install new DirectX, newest GPU drivers and so. But problem was still same. After that all, my pc just start freezing after a few minutes on desktop and begin autorestarting.I tried to uninstall GPU drivers in Safe Mode, but theres same problem. Also I tried to use "last good known condition" but problem is same.I also used MemTest, 2x pass, no errors, and also no errors in HD Tune..
I have recently been experiencing a BSOD everytime i startup (in normal or safe-mode) around 40-50 minutes after startup. It seems to just shut down every program then go to BSOD while is able to create a dump file but never automatically restart.I've also used spy-bot and Malwarebyte to find any corruptions or viruses and nothing fixed the problem. I've google'd and couldn't find anything to my predicament from other BSOD's. I personally think it's the RAM going bad (this is a built computer by a friend about 8 months ago, top of the line gamer computer, windows 7 ultimate).

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I tried logging in this morning I got a BSOD saying "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". It kept happening after rebooting so I used system restore and that went away. But then I got a BSOD saying "a clock interrupt was not received on the secondary processor". This happens either right when I log in, or within about 10 minutes. I've been in safe mode for about an hour and it's been okay. I ran memtest86 for a few hours but there were no errors. I also cleared the CMOS.

My computer will 100% freeze after roughly 10 mins of use (doesnt matter what i do in the 10 mins). I'm running windows 7 home 32 bit, i5 quad core (cant rmb alot of details, will dig up more soon), asus p8p67 mobo, wd 1tb green and 4gb ram.
The only way to "unfreeze" my computer is to restart it, if i leave it as it is without restarting I'll get a BSOD that says "KERNEL INPAGE DATA ERROR"
