I was playing Skyrim when it first blue screened. Soon after, it blue screened when browsing. Now, it is blue screening over and over again on start up.

keeps on happening every time i play skyrim or any other game, i re-installed the hardware drivers for my graphics card but it still seems to happen?
My computer has been working fine for almost a year now, and the BSOD just started two days ago while playing Skyrim. I thought it was just Skyrim, so I stopped playing that and just left it for a while. Today, my computer got the BSOD during normal flash gaming, and then again 30 or so minutes later when I was trying to post here.

my computer is giving me a hard time with all this BSOD.It works fine when im just surfing the net or watching videos, but when Im playing games like Skyrim, ME3 or Witcher 2 it just suddenly hangs and BSODs.The least time for this to happen is 20 mins and the longest time for this to happen is 4 hours. I was playing Skyrim last weekend, and the game froze on a black screen just as it was cutting to a kill animation. I had to restart the computer but when Windows loaded I had a BSOD. The computer booted fine up till this point.I've been looking up causes and fixes all week, and the dump files seem to suggest a 0x116 Video_TDR_error. I've attached all the requested information.I've already tried installing several different graphics drivers - the newest, the one supplied with the card, and one between. Windows and DirectX were fully up to date. I've also tried formatting the hard drive and installing Windows fresh, twice. I've had the computer back to the state it arrived in, when the drivers worked fine, and I've tried it with only the video drivers installed. Everything I try now is still resulting in the same BSOD.I can only get Windows to load in Safe Mode, or if I go into Device Manager and disable my graphics card. I am now fairly convinced the card itself is the problem, and I'm looking for confirmation before I go and get a new one fitted.The computer was new at the end of November. I had the same Windows install since then, but now I'm running a fresh install.

It is a retail version of Windows and everything is brand new.I have done the following: Malware test using Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware and have found nothing.Uniblue DriverScanner is showing all drivers up to date.I ran Prime95 and had no issues (temps stayed normal)I ran FurMarks and had no issues (again normal temps)I ran MemTest and the RAM passed without issue.I used HD Tune on the SSD and there also did not appear to be any problems.I have disabled Avira AV and still have the BSOD I updated the firmware on my SSD.I updated by bios I have installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled by GFX drivers.Nothing appears to be working and I would really like to get this issue resolved as soon as possible.Fortunately, since I just bought the parts at a local computer store I can return them for a direct swap if one of the parts is the issue. I have attached the memory dumps.
I get a computer crash while im playing skyrim. Its currently the only task I'v been experiencing this crash. The computer freezes, in the last frame of the game. I get a nasty sound in my headset, like a eletric interface kinda sound. The keyboard and mouse gets disabled (no lights or response)

2 nights in a row my machine has shut down instantly whilst i have been downloading many torrents via utorre### and playing skyrim or within seconds of closing down skyrim. to start up the machine i have to switch of the psu and unplug it. then plug it back in and witch it on. i have experienced these types of crashes before on a diferent machine. a have a sturdy 1000w psu. and even though i have multi tasked these two programs before. this is the beginning of a bad day

I've tried updating drivers and such. My next step is a full reinstall.After the initial crash it seems to randomly BSOD unless I attempt to run windows update which nearly always kills it.

Now I am struggling to even get past the starting video for Skyrim as the game is freezing and crashing (with the dreaded BSOD). When I see the screen it mentions the atikmpag.sys error.

I am writing this right now because after the last BSOD it said "Windows can not start" and I had to restore to when it was previously working. So up until that point this is what I did.Since working with computers almost my entire life I know most BSOD are due to either bad memory, drivers, or bios. I started there and updated my nvidea drivers but it happened again. I moved to the motherboard bios.I did find a newer one on there and using ASUS tool I flashed the BIOS. Same thing still happened. Next I ran memtestx86 for 8 hours and it returned no errors.At this point I just decided to look for newest drivers for everything. One thing that happened consistently was that my wireless USB adapter from Cisco had to be unplugged and plugged back in for it to work. I went there first, reinstalled the drivers but still the same thing. I thought maybe it was my hard drive. I downloaded Seagates Utility tool and ran all the tests and they all passed fine. I ran defrag just for good measure along with windows version of the mem test and that passed as well. I still continued to get the BSOD and I have to tell you I'm irritated and also stumped.
Next I moved onto software. I have been using AVG free for years but I know virus programs do some crazy stuff and I got rid of that. Turned on windows defender. I decided that since the wireless adapter didn't work after these crashes maybe lets just go to a direct wired connection. I disconnected the cisco wireless adapter and I'm just using a direct connect right to my router.These come at random times.. nothing I do can trigger it. It can stay on for days and not crash and then there are times it can be up for 10 min and crash.Some of you might notice that in the CPU-Z screenshots I had to take the screenshot with the error underneath. Every time I chose either of the two slots it crashed the program.I have not done anything internally besides add some neon to my computer which does not connect to the board at all.I have seen IRQL blue screen once so I even went as far to go into the power settings for windows and make sure the usb and everything never went into any kind of "standby" mode.
I believe this is still under warranty and I would like to go in with good information if I need to challenge and get new hardware if that's what it is.On a side note I have not touched the memory physically. I know some suggestions were to reseed the memory and chip but In my opinion something that has been working for months that never moves off my desk and is never basically touched besides the power button shouldn't mean something just came loose after 4 months of owning it.Again that's just my opinion. I have removed AVG, Ad-Aware, Some webcam motion detector software (which was a joke) and the only thing that was really installed was Skyrim.

I've been getting BSOD everytime I run a game which is graphic intense(like skyrim).I am using Alienware M17x with dual SLI with dual NVIDIA GTX 280m. I used to have a broken adaptor so I've been using a lower voltage adaptor that did not charge the laptop and used the Geforce 9800. This problem has been occuring ever since I got my new adaptor and has been using the 280m.

shortly after installing Win7 Ultimate, my computer started crash-dumping and locking-up with BSOD's, ran OCCT and all is well, Prime 95 runs and after an hour it stops the error is

I am running Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 17R laptop. Inside the program "Dell Support Center" it tells me that BITS - Demand Started to Auto Started. I don't know what BITS is. It runs in the System Services. Should I disable the BITS?

i used to get the BSOD very often so i decided to recover the system to the initial state . i did that and everything was fine , then i updated the windows 7 service pack 1 and finished the installation and rebooted my computer , the start-up at least took half an hour at that time and the service pack 1 installation showed "not successful " i tried to again to update the service pack1 which showed 73.6mb - 892.6mb so i updated it again and again the same thing happened.

As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.

I keep getting the blue screen of death when playing EA Battlefield 3. Whilst playing it seems fine, but after 30-60 minutes I will eventually get a blue screen. I have no other problems playing any other games, and I never get blue screens, its only since playing this game.

I get blue screens ONLY when I Play D3, I can play it but at random times it crashes 15min-2h usually. I have re-installed D3, tried different drivers and lots of other simple stuff like memtest etc. But cant seem to get it right. About PC, I've built it myself and it has been doing this since I started playing D3. Other game I have played is Wolf Team and its not crashing.One thing I have noticed from forums is that my TP-Link Usb router have caused problems also. Its hot as cup of coffee when in use, and I already contacted TP-link about it. Just to know is that normal. This error I can find from Event Viewer. ALWAYS there when I get BSOD. So could be the reason but no idea how to fix.

I have done trouble shooting like stopping unneeded tasks and turning off unneeded services.I have ran memtest and ran Prime 95 for 12 hours straight with no issues. Both times were with overclocking and without. So far I have only seen the issue with GW2.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOften, when I start up a game, it decides to crash my whole system resulting in a blue screen. Do note, however, that it has also crashed when not in a game, but only once or twice.My first thought was the ram, as it was and is giving a lot of memory errors, so I ran memtest for over 10 hours with no failures. My next thought was the CPU, so I ran prime 95 on blend and small ftt tests for over 8 hours which also proved to be stable. Next was the HDD, and I did everything from examining the SMART info to a long generic test. GPU was my last hope, but Furmark doesn't phase the card, and I even ran MemtestG80 which supposedly tests the GPUs memory as well. I do realize these tests are not the end all, and there could be a problem with any one of them that the tests didn't find. I have also reinstalled Windows Something curious happened when I ran memtest the other day. I had one stick in and left the room for a few minutes, only to come back to 7k+ errors. This was it I thought, I finally found out what was causing it. I wanted to test it again to make sure it wasn't a bug in the software, but it ran for 8 hours with no errors. So I'm lead to believe it's the ram, motherboard, memory cache, or psu. I am leaning away from the psu based on the fact that I get lucky and am able to play Skyrim on Ultra with no issue.I have attached several recent minidumps for anyone who is able to understand such things.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI never get the bluescreen doing anything but playing games and it's not often but it happens about twice a week. It crashes and WhoCrashed or Bluescreen view always points to ntoskrnl.exe or ntkrnlmp.exe or hal.dll it's always two of those 3. Other than games it runs fine. I did all the memory tests for 3 days and tried the best I could re-seat stuff. It's an alienware so they have it all secured in a way that makes it difficult to get around, and the case weighs around 105 lbs or something crazy.
