MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSoD After Installing AMD FX-8150 And Updating BIOS?

Sep 16, 2012

I recently bought a new AMD FX-8150 and installed it on my ASUS m5a97 mobo which has 24GB of ram. 2x4 and 2x8 of DDR3. Everything was moderately fine before I replaced my old CPU (AMD Phenom II x3) with the AMD fx-8150. After that, I couldn't play some of my games because apperently I needed to update my BIOS, which i recently did.  thats when things got weird. I keep getting blue screens, mainly memory management so I ran a standard and extended windows memory diagnostic test and came up with no errors. I have not done prime or 86+ yet. I, personally, think there are some instability issues here despite the fact the cpu is on the supported list for my asus mobo. Also some other weird things have happened. My google chrome crashed in such a way that it corrupted my profile and i had to reinstall it and it would not save the favicons in my bookmarks bar. my xfire kept crashing, too. when i try uploading a file to the internet and browse to DESKTOP via a windows explorer window, chrome crashes. I've ran a full malyware scan with no threats and cleaned by registry with CCleaner, i do not know what else to do. I don't think reformatting will help since i believe this to be a hardware error.

BSOD With Messages Memory_Management And Bugcode_Usb

Feb 9, 2012

A few weeks ago my computer began to crash with the Bug_Code_Usb BSOD. More recently it has been Memory_Management. It's an HP Pavilion dm4 running windows seven which it came with when I bought it new. I do not appear to be losing any files and the error occurs randomly about once or twice a day. If I did it right, the correct ZIP should be attached

BSOD Errors A1 (Memory_Management) And A (Irql_Not_Less_Or_Equal)?

Jun 19, 2012

I have had a very solid stable system since 2010, then I decided 6 GB of RAM and a 9800GT/GTX560Ti wasn't enough. I sold these parts away and replaced them with 24 GB of RAM and a GTX560Ti 448 edition. The instant I throw these new parts into my box I start getting the two different BSoD errors (the ones in the title). I have cleared everything of my previous overclocks with the upgraded components.System Specs: (bolded is what was introduced to the system which created the errors)Windows 7 Professional x647 930EVGA 132-BL-E758 (Motherboard)EVGA GTX560Ti 448 FTW EditionPatriot Extreme Performance (24 GB of RAM)If you need to know anything besides the core components that I have, let me know. Attached are the dump files.

The story so far:I have ran Memtest overnight on all the sticks of RAM and nothing comes up, it claims they're all good. I'm not sure how to test the graphics card, but what I can tell you is that I can login to Windows and within 5 minutes the BSoD shows itself. When in safe mode, (where I am right now), it runs more stable, but I have had it BSoD in here as well; It's just nowhere near as often. So, this makes me think its not hardware related and hopefully it's not because I have no other RAM sticks or graphics card to test with.My thoughts:I only used 3 of the 6 slots for RAM on the motherboard before this upgrade so initially I thought maybe I had a bad slot. I can't disprove that, but I still get the BSoD when using only 1 stick of RAM in a slot that was previously known as working. I uninstalled the graphics driver for my old GTX560Ti and downloaded the latest driver for my new graphics card and still get a BSoD.

Updating BIOS On Windows 7 PC?

May 31, 2011

This is an old HP PC I have recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7 and I have to say it has never run betterI have an ASUSTek A7N8X-LA motherboard with ver. 3.05 BIOS and an AMD Athlon™ 2600+ processorI want to upgrade to the latest BIOS that supports SSE2 instructions (for game playing purposes), however, I have run into a snag that the most recent BIOS ver 3.21 is still only XP compatible. Neither ASUS or HP are willing to provide any free support. This is somewhat frustrating as the BIOS in situ appears to be the original 2003 version. I could have easily updated this to the latest version before I upgraded the OS to Windows 7, but now it is to late.

Updating Asus Bios

Jan 2, 2010

Ok I've had some serious issues with running itunes & my iphone, syncing, writing errors etc.

The guys on the apple forum said to try and update my bios.

So I went to asus' website, found the drivers etc under my particular mobo.

Now I was given two .zip files, I've attached them because once I open the rar/zip files I dont know what to use to then run them with so I can update the mobo?

The first one is listed on their website under the category:

BIO S (5) [BIOS HISTORY]

and the other is listed under

BIOS-UTLITIES

I assume I should install both of these since they both deal with the bios?

Updating BIOS With Utility

Oct 27, 2011

I saw several of threads saying that, updating your BIOS in the Asus P8Z68-V PRO, would stabilize your system and have better effectivity and such things. If you direct to this page (Link), and scroll down a little, choose Windows 7 64-bit (as it's my system), and click + on the BIOS utility. Would it be the best idea? Is there any danger in doing it?

Updating BIOS For Windows 7 Install?

Oct 16, 2012

I want to say that this computer has the Windows 8 beta on it as its only OS. It's very clunky and full of bugs and whatnot and I want it off so I'm putting windows 7 on it and erasing everything on it. This shouldn't be a problem for these forums since everything I"m having problems with has nothing to do with the OS. Besides installing. now, basically this computers main parts are better than my own (it's not that great anyway) It's motherboard is x65 bit, it had 2 gb 800 mhz ram (my computer had the same amount but only 667mhz) it's processor is 3.00 GHz (mine is 2.3 GHz)So basically it's a better computer for the main parts. I've not looked at the PSU but I'm sure it's better aswell. The only thing that isn't better is the graphics card. It's a 7 series while mine is a 9. So, basically I want to put the best of my computer to this better one. Mine feels newer (since I keep it dusted so it sounds really smooth, while this one sounds a bit old. But either way I want to install windows on it. The only problem is that the BIOS is inoperable. When loading into the BIOS the keyboard no longer seems to work. Its light go off. But every once in a while on trying, I can get it into the boot menu so I can move it to put from CD rom. But at this point, no matter what, it won't let me scroll through the options. So naturally I went to google and came with some results that it could be the BIAS needing an update OR taking the CMOS battery out and allowing it to load default values. I tried the latter first, overnight actually. This brought it to default settings, but no luck. It didn't help the keyboard. Now, I'm on the "update BIAS" part. But I can't even seem to find the right update for this motherboard. I tried installing CPU-z but this Windows 8 needs framework to run the software since it's not made for W8. So I just look around on the MB myself and find the Model Number. It's D33C98. I googled it and mostly game up with Gigabyte results but I can't find BIOS updates for this model anywhere. I see manuels but I can't find much of anything for this MB.I thought about just putting the HD in my current computer and loading windows 7 on to it and putting back in the other one so I could just use my computers BIOS, but I've heard this isn't the best thing to do.

I'm completely stumped as to what may be causing this. All of my drivers are up to date and I have service pack 1 installed. I am not overclocking[CODE]

Installing And Updating Software Under Windows 7

Nov 8, 2009

I have two machines upgraded to Win 7 from Vista. On both machines there have been problems installing and particularly upgrading odd bits of software - but not neccessarily the same on both machines. So for example, on one machine Java works fine. On the other Firefox says that a java plugin needs to be installed, but then it won't install. They all seem to be access and permissions issues - and I suspect that the software installer wants to use some folders that Win 7 thinks it shouldn't be accessing. For example the Microsoft uninstaller wouldn't install because it needed access to a folder in the c:usersusername...

BSOD After Updating Blackberry While Plugged In USB

Mar 18, 2012

The weirdest thing happened to my Thinkpad T510 when I was updating my new Blackberry 9900 yesterday where I left my computer on while it was updating and went to bed. I woke up and my girlfriend closed the lid and when I reopened it there was a BSOD. Idiotically I didn't take a picture of it but once I tried restarting the computer it got stuck at the Windows boot screen where the Windows logo glows. I tried restarting again and I chose to go into Startup recovery provided by the Thinkvantage software. I left it there for the whole day when it was attempting to fix disk errors but all it did was just continue the scanning mode, and when I tried to cancel I couldn't. I restarted once again and tried to go into Rescue and Recovery mode that Thinkpads have and when I got in I got an error message:

BSOD While Updating Windows Starter

Sep 4, 2012

2 days ago, i bought a Netbook equipped with windows starter. I needed a cheap computing solution for college since i only need Word, Maple and Google chrome to make me happy during my free times at school. It's brand new and was equipped with Mcafee internet security 60 days trial which i took cause it was already installed and ready to work, anyway. I received message from windows update which i ignored for the last day since i didn't needed to use my netbook at all. I finally did the update today. And then. Boom. While rebooting, BSOD.(Reminded me of windows 98 and ME since i hadn't seen one in the last 10 years XD ). Memory dump, and rebooting. Then the apparently now famous Windows couldn't boot appeared and they offered me to try to run windows normally or to use the restore. I tried to run it again, which failed. So i did restored but now i'm still with the same problem while updating windows. I have checked on many forums but their similar problems are from 2010. And my netbook has been manufactured not two month ago since it's a new model.

AMD FX-8150 Windows 7 Won't Load

Sep 3, 2012

Windows 7 started freezing after 1 month of use. It locks up in the "Loading Windows" screen during the animation. I have tried using Windows repair upon boot but it locks up also. Sometimes i get a 2-Beep sound coming from my CPU which should signify a CMOS Setting Error. I have tried booting in safe mood which still locks up. Attempted last known good configurations. Also i have removed the battery from the CPU and reentered BIOS and tried "Fail Safe Configuration" as well as "Optimal Configuration". I switched HDDs. Attempted to boot CD-ROM first and reinstall windows but that failed to load also. All attempts i made have no impact.

Installing / Uninstalling After BIOS Update

Nov 1, 2011

I currently have an ASUS K53E that I've put a 60GB SSD into. I recently had to send out the laptop for service with ASUS, but I swapped the SSD for the original drive at that time (to save the chance they may re-format the drive). In any case, their repair apparently included a BIOS update... When I got the computer back, I naturally swapped the SSD back into the computer. Since then I've had numerous issues, the most prominent being that WLE stopped working (Every time I load Messenger it inexplicably stops working), and when I attempt to un-install it it will have a problem and abort the removal. With skype, I installed it fine, but it will launch, have a problem, then close! This is extremely frustrating..So really, my first thought is that there is a BIOS-update related issue, because the BIOS was flashed with the other drive in the laptop, and the installation on the SSD was installed/configured before the BIOS flash.Am I looking at a clean install of windows? Or could I get away with just a repair? I'd really prefer not to reinstall if I don't have to (Getting the OEM install on the SSD was hard enough in the first place).

Installing On Aspire One SDHC - No Bios Support

Dec 5, 2010

Long story short i have an Aspire One ZG5 with no SSD ribbon. Someone ripped out the ribbon and in the process damaged the connectors on both drive and motherboard. Any attempts to restore them were useless, even with a hot air rework station i could not solder new connectors in properly, they probably used infrared or wave soldering at the factory.

I need the thing to boot from a 16GB SDHC and the BIOS does NOT support such blasphemy. I can solder a small USB drive internally to act as a bootloader, but what do i put on it?

Basically i want to know whether something placed on a small USB drive can boot the thing and then transfer control to the SDHC, or if i'm better off buying a USB SDHC adapter and calling it a day.

Bsod On Startup After The Bios

Jan 24, 2010

I've been having a problem recently with windows 7. Mainly on start-up.

After the bios and during the windows start up screen or even during the log in screen, I'll get a bsod either just a memory dump or Reference_by_pointer. I use the windows recovery on start up next boot and it does its thing. After the system restart windows logs in but then explorer.exe crashes and the desktop windows manager crashes.

Which leads to a BSOD (Reference_by_pointer). I would try to access the dump file or the file that windows dumps the error into but I cant access my system and safe mode boots up with no taskbar or icons and eventually blue screens.

I have ran Diagnostic tests on my HDD and RAM both check out. Also this doesn't just happen when im using my pc. Like when I re install windows its fine I can restart 100 times and it will still boot, but when I turn the system off for the night... well thats when it all goes south.

System specs if this helps)

AMD Phenom II 925
MSI NF750-G55
DDR3 1600mhz 2gb stick

also using two WD 320GB caviar drives in a Raid 0 but b4 I got the raid set up this issue was happening.

Programs I ran this install hope its just a program issue)

Comodo Firewall and AV
Steam
google chrome

I hope someone has had this issue too or knows how to fix this. cause I've google'd the blue screen and it seems people get this with network issues.
