Lossless Video Compression / Conversion To AVI Format?
Nov 19, 2012
Just wondering, for you video editors out there, which format you prefer from the following: BGR24 RGB555 YUY2 RGBA32 Or, if there's a better one that I didn't list that you prefer/gotten the best results from I'd love to know. Like H264 .mp4s or just some standard NTSC format.
I'm searching and searching for a free / opensource program that can convert most video formats (MOV, WMV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 etc) to H.264 or vise versa. And with such options as data rate of 2000 / 5000 kbps but not limited to only that option.
I have been recording tv to external hard drive from my OKANO tv and in my laptop they come up as an SQ file. How can I convert that file into something I can put on disc and play in dvd players? I have windows 7.
I have also some video tapes, not used from a long time. But as yesterday I tried to play them the video quality was blurred and scratched type. If I will try to convert it into DVD then the captured movie will play smoothly or not?
When I was transferring mp4 videos from my laptop to my phone, Windows 7 was asking me if I want to convert them. That was a really good option, because they were running on my phone better than the mp4. But now that option is gone. So guys, can you tell me how should I enable this option again?
I'm looking for one video codec and package that will play nicely on Windows 7 Media Center, Zune, and the Xbox 360 extender. I have original DVDs, and I'm able to convert them to whatever.
It is sometimes required to convert a video or audio file to another format - for example if you want to use it in a Power Point slideshow where you need WAV audio files or you want to play a video downloaded from the internet for which you do not have the right codec. In those cases I suggest you use Format Factory. The program is very easy to use and you can convert in three simple steps.
I am trying to take some training videos at a website [URL]. The videos are in windows media player format embedded in IE. I selected 4 trainings. So these are in my favorite list. I launched the first video, a new window opened and it started buffering the video and then the video started. I face a problem when I closed this video and wanted to go to the next one. A new window opens with windows media player embedded in the window but it doesn't do buffering to play. Interestingly, it still showing the title of the previous training that I closed. Looks like it is getting stuck in the memory. I am using IE 9 on Win7 (64bit).
I'm trying to convert a video that I exported from Windows Live Movie Maker. The file's current format is .wmv. I want to convert it to divx, but I'm having major issues doing so.
I want to install AnSys on windows 7 64 bit, but the software is compatible with 32 bit. Can i convert existing windows 7 64 bit to 32 bit to install this software if yes how?
I think Microsoft really screwed up here. I see many people have had the same surprise when converting from Vista to Windows 7 that there is no automatic replacement for Win Mail and that emails and contacts are getting lost. I think Microsoft needs to somehow solve this situation immediately. I spent like over 2 hours with Microsoft customer service who kept bouncing me around and noone of them knew how to go step-by-step conversion to this so called no web Microsoft mail program. Now I wish I would have stayed with Vista, even if it did have problems.
I'm still in the noob category for authoring/editing/converting/streaming/storing multimedia but climbing the hill.I use and reco DVD Flick for converting some of the common video filetypes [e.g. .avi] to format for burning to DVD, but this question goes the opposite way. What software, and to what format, is best for hard-storage, nas etc my collection so it can be available to home theater or other playback on my lan?I've no issues with decryption - its the step of taking the vid & audio ts folders and then converting to.
How do I change TIFF images to JPEG? I do not have photoshop or anything like that. I have tried many things and nothing seems to work without buying something. Is there any way to change it without buying something?
I have just acquired a Lenova Thinkpad, equipped with Windows 7. I have used XP for many years and have grown accustomed to its strengths and foibles. Can you recommend a path through the tutorials on this site to put me on a fast track to competence with Windows 7?
Specifically looking to convert mp3 to ac3 for use in DVDs. Would like to find software with a simple to navigate UI. Most of the ones I've found (and believe me, there are many) are trial versions with a paid version to follow. The catch is lots of these trial versions only allow for partial conversion or some type of vocal overdub (sort of like an audio watermark). I've got nothing against a paid version, but is there any reliable audio conversion software that someone could recommend using? Freeware or paid?
Ive squeezed all my brain juices out to no avail. [code] Ive been trying to set up software mirrored raid on my two HDs.I setup Win 7 as a clean install and then convert disk 0 to a dynamic disk. After that when i restart my comp, it just wont boot. Im left with the DMI pool data thing and a blinking cursor.
somehow my hard disk partition became dynamic. i formatted system and insttaled windows 7 ultimate in the dynamic disk partition.from then onwards system is not booting. only black screen with cursor on the upper left corner of the black screen.if i am not wrong windows 7 cannot boot with dynamic disk. i will have to go to the disk management and after conversion of dynamic disk to basic disk with deleting all the volumes (data). it is possible to boot with windows 7.but system is not booting...not opening..so i cannot go to disk management.hrad disk is showing some partitions with system reserved.except system reserved all the partitions are showing dynamic. and in only one partition formatting option and installing OS option is coming while i booting system with OS DVD.reinstalltion through OS DVD is possible by booting through OS DVD. but in advanced option repartition option is not coming.the one partition in which i installed OS previously, only in that formatting option is coming.in other partition neither formating option is coming nor extend.

I have recently accidentally converted my disk from basic to dynamic. I realised that doing this is bad because it does not allow me to install other operating systems on other partitions. After browsing google for a couple days i came across that you can change your disk by using a hex editor called HxD. I thought this was great so I downloaded HxD. I continued to the next step "Go to the offset 01C2 and change to a 7" here there should be a 47 (Dynamic disk)...... It was a zero (0).
1) Say Computer A has a 1GHz processor and 16-but word size. Computer B has a 2GHz processor and 32-bit word size. Compare the processing speeds of these computers quantitatively. Show calculations.2) Conversion from true-color graphic to black and white. Explain what the conversion did in terms of pixel bytes or bits3) If you run the CPU simulator program, you will find that it uses the system bus 12 times. Explain how this number comes about. (You must explain why based on how cpu operates. This will involve a little arithmetic. Show all)

I am trading drafts of a document with a friend by gmail. When I download the Word document, it is automatically saved as a doc.x, and the formatting is messed up. Also, when I attach the revised document to an email to send back, the Word document is automaticalled attached as a doc.x. How can I disable this?

If I use a commercial software like Drive Scrubber to clean my HD, will a Win 7 Upgrade Discboot ? I want to eliminate any possible virus/malware. Is there any advantage to using commercial software to format, or is the reinstall format listed in the tutorials as effective? My concern is that Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 (KIS) had corrupted data bases and after removal and reinstallation did not perform well. I could not download anything, e.g. CCleaner and received Certificate Error questions on certain websites. Also, I would like a fresh registry to insure previous programs like Chrome, Firefox, KIS, remnants are eliminated.
Can I format a Hard Drive with Windows 7 using a 2000 format disk. If so, what are the prompts i see and action on boot-up before I use the format C. Done it before but just forgot
