Logon Screen Logo
Came across this site today, and would like to say thank you, thank you, thank you. I have already downloaded the thundercats clocks... big smile on my face lol
Anyway, back to my point. I have changed the logon screen background to an awesome image, I was just wondering, is there anyway of getting rid of the 'Windows 7' logo/word across the center bottom?

Black Screen After Windows Logo
So last night I turned off my PC as usual. Rebooted it this morning and every time the Windows 7 Logo disappears, all I see is a black screen, no mouse pointer, cant bring up task manager, the pc seems unresponsive. I am currently running the PC in safe mode. There are other threads on the forums and on google, I have tried everything so far. As a list for you, this is what I have tried: Windows Restore Windows Repair Reinstalling Windows 7 (will not allow me to do so from safe mode) Booting Windows in low resolution mode. Booting windows from the Win 7 CD I made, this causes me to get past the windows logo, then all I see is a mouse pointer and a windows background. Using winkey + P does nothing. I have 2 GeForce 9800 GX2s - I use 2 displays normally, occasionally using a third. The machine was running fine last night and no new software has been installed for the past 3 days. I assume the issue is multi-display related, however the pc is totally non responsive after the windows logo which suggests something else =/. I am totally at a loss and need this PC for my work (I work from home in Austria for several companies in other countries), I have been at this since about 5am and 5 hours later there has been no change.

Booting Screen - Colourful Logo
I remember reading about the new 7 booting screen, the colours that seemed to whirl around. Did this make it into the beta? Only my boot just shows the same as all previous builds and Vista, just the bar on it's own... If other people have the colourful logo, did you have to activate it in some way? Just wondering if it's something to do with only running 512Mb RAM...

Company Logo On Login Screen
We have had issues with people stealing computers. However thieves sometimes do not steal XP computers with our company logo on the locked screen/logon screen. It might be because of the branding which seem more professional and they maybe are afraid of being tracked by our company. So, how can I customize Windows 7 like I could by e.g. changing the desktop background of the .DEFAULT user in registry on XP?

Win 7 Hangs After Logo To Blank Screen
After installing the Release Canidate RC1 and not changing any defaults I shut the computer down. Upon re-start I see the windows initial graphic, the screen goes dark and the initial windows chime occurs but then nothing. To resolve the problem what I did was the advice as given in this thread: black screen in the logon screen, wont log in. That post basically states to hit F8 before the logon screen, logon in Windows Safe mode at the suggested lowest resolution, and upon login change to the desired resolution.I am only doing this post because this is RC1 of Windows 7 and am suprised that I ran into this on this version. The default resolution was fine with me and I didn't check to change. If this is a change required by the user, fix this before going out to the general public. Note my system is Aero compatible video (ATI), quad core with eight gigs of ram, fresh install of 64bit version. My target screen/resolution was 1900x1200.

Screen Goes Blank After Glowing Windows Logo
It simply disables display. My screen goes blank right after the glowing windows logo. This is a fresh install. It's an ATI card. Brand new. It was working (for 2 weeks) on vista perfectly. I understand that there is an issue with ATI catalyst control center. with all due respect, I can't load a driver if my screen is disabled.

Blank Screen, Blinking Cursor, Frozen Logo
I'm attempting to install Windows 7 64-Bit (7000) onto a second physical drive which has been reformatted for this sole purpose. EVGA 790i FTW MotherboardPNY NVidia 8800 GTInstallation seems to go fairly smoothly, with all files extracting quickly.Eventually, the setup portion reaches that last step (Completing/Finishing Installation), with the green loading bar at the bottom approximately 75% complete. That's when the problem occurs: The screen goes completely blank, save for a small white blinking cursor in the upper left hand corner. The system is frozen at this point, and the keyboard numlock will not change regardless of how many times I rapidly jam on the key. >.>Rebooting the system at this point results in a "Windows Logo Freeze". It's a pretty glow, but it stops glowing and becomes frozen. My only clue has been that I ran into something similar not long ago when updating my NVidia video drivers to 181.20. The system would hang part way through the driver installation, going to that same blank screen with blinking cursor. I was able to get past that simply by trying again after a reboot. Haven't had a problem since on my primary XP Pro installation.Things I've tried:Booting into Safe Mode. This presents the "The Computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed...etc" Fair enough, I rebooted the system. My fault!Booting into Safe Mode, then hitting Shift+F10, bringing up the command prompt, and typing "net user Administrator active:yes" (or whatever the correct command is). This tells me the user doesn't exist. Makes sense, wasn't created yet. I tried this based on another "Freezing Logo" solution given.I've used two different ISO's, one of which was burned at reduced speed to ensure a good copy. Same exact symptoms. My gut tells me this is video related. Not sure why. Also! While I'm not certain where the correct "setuperr.txt" logfile is, I can confirm that the ones in the Windows directory and the Panther directory both are 0kb.

I'm creating a Windows 7 Image using the AIK. I been using Audit Mode to install my applications. I've created a custom power scheme so that the computer will not hibernatesleep while I'm in Audit Mode. My question is I would like to enable the checkbox to require a password to bring the computer out of a screensaver mode during the OOBE pass or via the SetupComplete.cmd.Â

Screen Becomes Corrupted And Logon Screen Changed Color
This is so strange. My screen resolution is corrupted and my logon screen changed from Green to Blue. Steps: 1) Using Office Word 2007, Outlook 2007, IE 8 Beta, and Live Messenger on Windows 7 2) Pressed Ctrl + Alt + Delete to lock my computer Observation: 1) Screen is corrupted (resolution becomes 640 x 480 from 1280 x 800 and colors become 16 bits) 2) Logon screen is now Blue instead of Green I was able to change the resolution of the screen. However, still don't know how to switch my logon back to Green color.

Is There A Logon Screen Screensaver ?
In XP & Vista a Windows screensaver would turn on after a short while if the system was left on the user[s] log-in screen. At least with my installation of Windows 7Â RC1, this does not appear to be the case. if left on that screen, nothing ever happens. Is this WAD? And, if so, is there any way to turn it on?

No Screensaver On Logon Screen
My wife and I each have user accounts and we "Switch User" back and forth all the time, and sometimes leave it at the logon screen with our two icons to click on. In XP, the screensaver would run on the logon screen, but I'm noticing that nothing happens from the logon in 7. We have use the photo screensaver which makes it a digital picture frame of sorts, but if you leave it at the logon, you'll come back an hour later to see our two icons waiting for you. Has the screensaver on logon been removed or is there a configuration I'm missing?

Customize Welcome / Logon Screen
Has anyone found a way to change the "Welcome" screen without downloading a "fix" from the inet? I've tried creating a jpeg (the correct size) in windowssystem32oobeinfoackgrounds (saved as defaultBackground) and making a chage in the registry to: HKLM>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Current Version>Authentication>LogonUI>Background... Key OEMBackground value 1 ... but to no avail. What is interesting is that the original MS background file ((bitmap) in system 32oobe) that is the welcome screen has security permissions on it .... with Adminstrators only having Read/Read and Execute ONLY... O.O TrustedInstaller has full rights to it . Any suggestions?

Black Screen Instead Of Logon Screen
I use the bios selection to boot from either drive A or B.I use Windows dual-boot menu on drive B to select between Vista and 7RC. The black screen problem was first observed with both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions of the Beta distributed at the Installation Festival. I had taken only one monitor to the festival and everything appeared to be working fine then. Once home, I noticed that I had no sound. I downloaded drivers for my SPXFI card and got sound but, got the black screen on reboot. I asumed that the SB driver was the cause. I had configured the Display on DVI 2 as my main display. I then tried the 32-bit version with the same results. I had purchased a brand new 1TB drive for my Win 7 experimentation. I had disabled my main drive (A) throught the BIOS for installation. I hastily concluded that W7 was not quite ready for my system. I installed Vista Home Premium on my B drive using the same method and everything worked fine. When RC was announced, I downloaded the 64-bit version, created a partition on my B drive and installed it there while my A drive was disabled from the BIOS. Installation went fine but I encountered the same black screen problem on the final reboot. However, I observed the odd disk activity and did not want to turn of the computer while this was going on. I tried Ctrl-Alt-Delete and other things and managed to get some voice from the computer. I had activated the Access functionality from the invisible logon screen. I did another Ctrl+Alt+Delete, typed my password and followed by Enter. The monitor connected to DVI 1 immediately came on. I did not have a menu bar because I had specified the other monitor as my primary one. A right-click on the screen brought up the contextual menu, from which I selected Personalize > Display > Change display settings. Clicking the "Detect" button turned on the second monitor. I plan on altering my connection so that my main display will be on DVI 1 instead of 2. In the mean time, I will blind-type my password and restore the settings.

Black Screen Of Death On Logon
you guys wouldn't know a fix for a Windows 7 RTM Ultimate every time they logon its a black screen but they can see the logon screen until it goes to the desktop. I'm pretty sure its the video card driver or the video card itself. Computer Type: Desktop Video Card Type: ATI Radeon 4870 Works in safe mode with internet Alt Ctrl Del works but doesn't show taskmanager Cannot logout only shutdown. Fresh install (today) Tried reinstalling the vista driver and then the windows 7 driver. I heard something about BIOS could be a factor but i don't think so.

Replacement Bitmaps For Logon Screen
Nothing special just give the Bitmaps a Black hue instead of the standard colors. Screenshots of my Laptop screen I apologize apparently my digital camera sucks, they don't really show the effect of the change as well as actually looking at the screen. Also I have uploaded a copy of my own edited Authui.dll with the excess crap removed from the file to get filesize down. Instructions to download are included with the zip file, along with a copy of the original Bitmaps Note: If your looking at screenshot of my laptop, you'll notice buttons still look blue, that is only from the transparency effect coming from the wallpaper. The buttons will take on the hue of the wallpaper.
