View 1 Replies View RelatedI as far as I can remember have never had this loud noose before, but lately for a month or so? Ish? I've been having a series of loud noises from my pc, so loud that I can hear it even when playing BF3 with a headset! And so violent at times I can feel the keyboard vibrating lightly, and if I touch the PC it is vibrating decently softly.I may be wrong but it seems it started after BF3, and thought it might be the fan or my PC really struggling with the game, but it does it even when I'm not playing. It's sometimes just a softer sound, then will accelerate to a "burr, burr, burr" then go full auto into "brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" occasionally very loud. So here's the REALLY scary part: while playing Skyrim a very weird thing happened: it stopped. The sound of the game looped into a "drrrrrrrrrr" and I had to hold down the off button. Nothing else did anything. I rebooted and tested it again...sure enough: 30 seconds in I had to do the same thing. I gave it one last chance and decided I would try to discern if it did anything else notable, but the third time it was fine. I left the game open a while to see if it'd do it again, but it didn't.So I'm scared. WTH is wrong with my PC? BTW it is kinda low on disc space...if that matters. Also the disc options are gone when I click on documents under the c drive and stuff...then again I had installed virtual drives..

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen booting my Dell Latitude E6410, there is a really loud noise coming from the left side of the computer (what i think is the fan?). It's also very hot and the login screen freezes and I am unable to login)I am however able to login in safe mode no problem and there is no noise or excess heat.I thought that maybe the problem was related to my use of the Anti-Virus program Avast, so I uninstalled and used their uninstall utility.I'm copying my list of installed programs below---I allready cleaned out all of the temp files and deleted anything that seemed iffy or not in use.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have volume set around 8% and for some reason it is way louder than on Vista. On Vista I usually have it around 22% when I use headphones. On Windows 7 RC it's extreme loud when I set it to 22%. Anyway to fix this? I tried everything in the sound properties.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is a annoying loud continuous beeping sound. This happens after the boot diagnostics, at the point where windows should boot up. There is a cursor in the upper right corner, and that is all it does. This is a HP Pavilion Elite m9040n PC. It came with Windows Vista, and I am upgrading to Windows 7. I stupidly didn't run upgrade advisor, and am now regretting it.When I go to HP to find drivers, no Windows 7 drivers show up for this PC. Stupidly, again, I assumed this meant that they were packaged in with Windows 7.I don't think this is a hardware issue. It happens repeatedly at boot up, but when I put the installation CD in, the PC boots off the CD just fine. This probably doesn't eliminate any hard drive issues, but the PC wasn't showing any signs before, and the installation goes through without a hitch. Is this caused by not having compatible drivers? Are there computers that can't be upgraded? I do meet the minimum requirements. 2.4 Ghz, 3 GB Ram. What may I be missing?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently went into my computer to install a Corsair H80 Water pump for the GPU. Anyhow, after i connected all the cables and turned on the computer again i did not have any sound. Even though im not an expert with computers, i'm pretty sure all the cables are connected right (but there is always a possibility i screwed up there).I do have sound devices, that is not the issue. After the first pc boot i had the Realtek digital output (realtek high definition audio) as the sound device. I went into the control panel and pressed sound. The previous audio device (that i had and was working) was there, but stated as "Not plugged in".So, my computer does not detect or react as i connect any headsets nor speakers. I also checked the audio in the mixer to see that it "plays sound" which i can confirm.I have searched the web for people with the same issues and tried a few "solutions" but none of them worked for me.They were:
1. Uninstall and reinstalling the drivers
2. Making sure i got the latest versions of the drivers
3. Turning on the front jack panel in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, which resulted with the speakers apparing to be connected and works according to the computer but still no sound.
4. Tried different speakers and headphones.
After trying several things im starting to believe it might be me who failed at connecting the computer. But if so i have no idea how to fix it, as it does not matter if i connect the audio cable instead of the HD audio cable or if i leave them unconnected. My os is Windows 7 Ultimate.I got an Intel motherbord DX58SO and my sound device/card is Realtek high definition audio?
I have installed a new Creative "Soundblaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro USB Audio System with THX SB1095" soundcard. I disabled the old on-board card. Note: It's USB. When I start-up, shutdown, sleep or wake, I get a very loud POP thru the speakers.I contacted Creative and they told me this is "normal" because Windows 7 is polling the USB input to see if there is anything connected. This doesn't sound right, because it happens when I shutdown or sleep, too! Why would Windows poll a usb input while shutting down or going to sleep?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just installed a new PC, which has Realtek HD Audio on board. The problem I encounter, is that when using the Realtek HD Audio Driver, I get a "blip" sound before and after each sound, almost as if the speaker port is being enabled and disabled.I should point out, that I still get this blip through my front speakers, even when sound is coming out of rear speakers only (such as when performing a windows sound test).I should also point out, that when using the Windows 7 sound drivers, I do not have this problem - all is fine! Except for the big fact, that my rear speakers are not enabled as Windows 7 drivers insist on driving them all through the same jack port, which is why I need to run the Realtek HD Audio Manager & Driver.
PC is installed with Windows 7 Ultimate
Realtek Audio Driver Version: 6.0.1.5898
Direct X Version: 11.0
Audio Codec: ALC662
Speaker Setup: Quadrophonic

Recently, I heard my fan going really loud while playing some games. So I used some compressed air to clean it out. Surprisingly there wasn't as much dust coming out as I expected. My computer usually runs under 50 C when just browsing the web, but now its at 58. Playing a game, it usually runs at 63ish but now it runs up to 74 C. I even have a laptop fan under my computer. I have no idea whats going on, usually after I use my compressed air, it goes back to normal, but what now?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with my Acer aspire s3 ultrabook (i7 2637 4GB ram running windows 7 home premium 64 bit). The fan is on all the time, really loud and noisy, and the laptop is usually heating up too rapidly, and the battery life is less than 1 hour on power saving mode!! I don't know how it became this way, but I think that I once downloaded the windows 8 preview, installed it, but nothing happened, and I could not detect it on the control panel or in my hard-drive, it just disappeared, and my laptop has not been well eversince. I am not sure If I want to restore it or if I have a restoration point before the problem, but I have important software I do not want to lose.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am working with Windows 7 on a Dell Optiplex 755, but teh issue is with the System Volume setting. When I go to the audio mixer and do the test and configuration, the SoundMax audio level is loud and clear. The problem is with the Windows system settings somewhere, is there a limiter or cap setting in teh registry that I can set to maximum? I know that it is not the standard slide bars/levels but somewhere that Windows 7 Professional is cutting the volume on any Windows application. The drivers are fine, if I invoke the card directly it will blast the sound out. But in any application it is too soft.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi just began to hear a fan noise about 3 days ago on my hewlett packard dv7-1444us laptop. i am pretty sure it is the fan as i know how the fan sounds and it is not sounding like it used too (instead of the hard drive). it's making a constant whining noise now most of the time. once an awhile it takes a little while to start making the whining noise. i downloaded the hw monitor program and it has these stats:

tried turning off the fan in the bios but no luck as it still kicks in. was trying to turn it off to make sure it was the fan by the noise going away.downloaded speed fan and don't see any fan readings at all or i don't know how to use the program downloaded the service manual from hp, and of course the fan is the very last thing to get too after taking the entire laptop apart! also found a video on Internet of a different model but almost exactly like mine being taking apart! looks scary and exciting at the same time. why did they put the fan in such a hard to get to place? hard drive is right there after taking out about 6 screws as i did just to take a look!any diagnostics program i can run to make sure it is the fan?can i continue to use the machine. the noise is driving me bonkers, wish i could turn it off and maybe get one of those laptop portable fan things.
I recently bought an Acer Aspire 7738G laptop with Windows 7. After a day or two the speakers (in fact i think it was the internal subwoofer) started to make a loud grinding noise which was intermittant but which became increasingly prevalent. It seemed sometimes to be brought on by my going online or somethin like that whilst music was playing, but sometimes started on it's own. Thinking it was a hardware problem I changed my laptop for exactly the same model. Unfortunately however after a few days exactly the same thing has started to happen.
I don't think I am the only one to have had this problem (see link below) and I wonder if it's aproblem with Windows 7 and Acer internal subwoofers. I am not a techy and all I can think to do is to take this laptop back and get a non Acer one. I'd rather not go through all that again (transferring itunes alone is a pain let alone getting the computer to perform in the shop).
Please let me know therefore if there is a simple fix to save me the trouble.
This is probably not possible but I thought I would ask anyway.I have my 5.1 headphones plugged into my ASUS Xonar D2X, and my desktop speakers plugged into my onboard sound. What I want to know is there a way for Windows, or a third party program, to automatically play any 5.1 sound through the soundcard, and any stereo sound through the onboard sound?I am currently just manually changing the default device to what is needed which is a slight annoyance.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this doesn't really give much away to my problem but i'm just as confused.
My laptop has recently started making the little beep noise that would occur when inserting a usb device etc. but i haven't inserted anything into the laptop at all?
I have checked various windows device programs but to no avail, there are no yellow triangles in the device manager, so i'm unsure as to what has caused this?
I have also system restored but it still proceeds to make the noise.
I have been starting to make voice overs for my videos recently using a Turtle Beach x11 headset and everything has been working ok. Suddenly whenever I start recording I get this like popping sound (like when you pop your ears) lasts for about 1-2 seconds and I dont know how to get rid of it. It also happens when recording with my inbuilt laptop mic.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony viao laptop vpc-f1290x. I probably will be unable to give any specs besides windows 7 and i7. Earlier I was playing stacraft 2 after waking it from hibernation and was listening to music with headphones on. I heard a horrific cranking noise and couldn't tell where it came from. A few minutes later I heard it again and realized it came from the fan area or so from the laptop. It turned off and I waited a minute and turned it back on. It started for a few seconds and turned back off. I left it for a few hours then turned it on again and it lasted to the desktop then turned off. I tried a different power source but that hasn't done anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a Dell Inspiron 14 laptop. A few days ago, I noticed that my laptop has become incredibly slow (the system will hang sometimes, and continue as per normal after a while), and this coincided with my laptop beginning to make this weird, sharp beeping sound. At first I did not pay much attention to it, but later this was joined by several BSODs, and my laptop became even slower (games that usually did not lag was now hanging halfway through, and continuing as per normal after a lengthy period of 1 minute or so). I tried to find the origin of the noise, and I think it came from my Internal hard drive sector, and thus decided to open the sector up (in hindsight I probably should not have). After I replaced it, without doing much (just doing the usual IT-amateur stuff, wiping it and blowing it a few times), my situation has now worsened to the point that startup takes a much longer time, and finally now it hangs at the "Starting Windows" screen, but without the Windows 7 logo showing, and my screen later turns black.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy laptop has increasing updates when I switch it on. It started at update 1 of 1 and is now at update 1 of 66. Which means it can take forever to start. I don't understand why this is increasing all the time? And I can't find any similar queries on any support sites? Is it possible this is a virus? I have AVG free anti-virus software and the computer scan is coming out clear. Even in Safe mode.
