View 7 Replies View RelatedSanta Clara, California-based NVIDIA has announced today that it has received the Windows Hardware Qualification Lab (WHQL) certification for a driver that has been designed to support the DirectCompute technology and Windows 7 operating system. The announcement represents another milestone for the company, which has been actively promoting the performance capabilities of its GPUs in general-purpose computing-enabled applications. The certification will enable users to see increased performance for a number of apps that take advantage of the company's GeForce GPUs in the Windows 7 OS environments.
“Windows 7 combined with applications that take advantage of the new DirectCompute technology have the potential to transform the personal computing experience for millions of customers using GPUs to turbo-charge scenarios in digital media applications,” said Mike Ybarra, general manager for Windows Product Management at Microsoft Corp. “We've already seen some applications come to market that take advantage of the GPU, Windows 7 and DirectCompute will make it even easier for developers to write applications and deliver these benefits to millions of additional customers.”
The chip maker has announced that the new driver will be made available through its website later this week, enabling the DirectCompute technology to work on systems running on GeForce GPUs and Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system. Applications that are optimized for DirectCompute are to deliver smoother and an overall better quality in NVIDIA GPU-enabled systems.
In addition to the DirectCompute feature, which will be part of the upcoming DirectX 11 API, Windows 7 will also provide users with an increase in performance for gaming applications. According to NVIDIA, using its SLI technology and the new OS, users should see a 14% increase in performance across top gaming titles, compared to previous generations of GPUs. Windows 7 is also expected to bring H.264 high-definition video playback to Windows Media player, which will also take advantage of the performance delivered by the system's graphics processing unit.

WHen you copy a file in Windows 7 do previouly deleted records & sheets exist in the new file (Excel file)? If they do is there a method to "wipe clean" the deleted records & individual sheets? How about SQL data base records that are deleted. How do you "wipe them clean"?
View 1 Replies View RelatedA few days ago my computer was infected with the trojan HEUR:Backdoor.Win64.Generic (consrv.dll). Kaspersky caught it and removed it but not before it disabled my windows security service, "base filtering engine". I restored the service in the register but it won't start even though it is set to automatic. I think it won't start because the file bfe.dll was corrupted by the virus. I have another copy of the file obtained from a working computer with the same operating system but I cannot replace it because "I don't have permission".
how to replace this protected file or how to get BFE to start?
My BFE service Base Filtering Engine has been deleted by a nasty installer or whatever...how can i manually reinstall the BFE service without a full reinstall ?i don't have any system restore point available (never need this sh##ty feature in the past)Windows 7 x64 BFE service does not appear anymore in the "local service" service has been deleted!

View 5 Replies View RelatedHaving received a report from Norton error 5013,3, I have now identified that I have lost Windows Base Filtering Engine from my Windows 7 Home X64 system. Can anyone tell me how I can get this back. With previous versions of Windows, you could simply re-install Windows over the top but my install DVD telle me that it is not compatible with what I now have (probably due to all the various updates etc. Is there not a download which could simply restore the lost feature?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am missing three drivers in my device manager. They are listed under other drivers and when I look at the properties there is no information given as to what its for.The first two say base system device and the third one says coprocessor. None of them can be updated from the manager because it cannot find the drivers online. I believe the first two have to do with nvidea but everytime I try to download the driver it does not work. I have no idea if I am even on the right path. This is the last issue I am having from my windows 7

Can't seem to find anything to work and with Hp neglecting Windows7 "HP Support Forum" here is my best chance.
I've tried re-adding the appropriate reg files. I've tried fixing permissions in the registry. I've tried all the cmd line commands. I have no idea how to get this service to run. Because of this the firewall doesn't work. And also i can't open any ports on my router I'm thinking.I've used ccleaner to fix the errors in my registry, as well as sfc /scannow. I was getting some error when trying to use the Windows 7 installation disc to repair windows so I couldn't do that.I'm also not infected with zero acess rootkit becaue these aren't found on my computer.
Quote: if you find a folder called system64
C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM64(not the sysWOW64)
and a file called consrv.dll
C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/CONSRV.DLL
You're infected by zero access rootkit. It is recommended to contact malware removal forums to remove it first and try the fix
I've tried this too but to no avail -->
Quote: Download both the registry files
bfe.reg
firewall.reg

My OS is Windows 7 32 bits. I checked base video in boot option in msconfig and also checked make all boot settings permanent. So my window always boots with low resolution mode. Therefore I rechecked base video, checked all boot settings permanent, applied, ok and then restarted the windows. OK. Windows is starting, that's ok yet. My screen resolution is normal. And then My startup programs started, after a few seconds, My screen resolution changed to low immediately. I think I can't disable base video mode in msconfig.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently trying to decide on the best remote support software to purchase for a 50+ workstation business. I have experimented with Real VNC and TeamViewer, and whilst they are quite comparable I noticed that TeamViewer has a feature called "Seamless Windows". I will be providing remote support to local users, and several interstate branches - therefore the software that I decide on must accommodate a wide diversity of geographical locations.I was also looking at a product called GoverLAN, but it seems to me that GoverLAN only works on a single LAN and can't be used over a WAN in a similar way to both RealVNC & TeamViewer?
