My wife has a new laptop running Windows 7 and has migrated from Xp (which she loved) I have transferred most of her files and she now has a problem. Before on the xp laptop she used to work with Microsoft works Suite 2001that ran Microsoft Works 6.0 and mainly the Picture It part of the suite using the Picture It, Publishing 2001 Set up Design and Art.She still likes this prog as she is very comfortable with it and it does just what she wants it to do. The problem was that when she went to open one of her files it was a php file and tho she has got Office 2007 on her new pc it will not open the file. I tried to install the worksuite 2001 onto the new pc from the original discs that we have and after a while an error comes up unable to load dll file ?? Does this mean it is not compatible and if so can anyone reccomend a (free if possible) program that we can use to open/use the php files

Is Micrsoft 2003 compatible with Windows 7. Also, just purchased a new computer with Windows 8, I can't get it to upload to 8 so assume that is a no go? Is Microsoft 2007 compatible on Windows 8 or do I have to go to 2010? If I purchase the Microsoft 2010 from you, how many times can that be installed on my computers? I have 3, and I need the office version with outlook, excel, word, etc
I clicked on Microsoft office 2007 Home & student edition. It displayed "The version of this file is not compatible with the version you're running (Windows 7 premium). Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86(32-bit) or x64(64-bit) version of the program, then contact the software publisher". I checked the version and it was 32 bit (under Program X86). The problem was the application (Microsoft word 2007) worked last night, until the windows update 7 has caused the application to become incompatible. Is there a way to correct the error?
I purchased Windows 2003 and it is now obsolete. I need to replace with Windows 2007. I am a current job seeker and find Windows 2007 has many changes. Can I turn in my 2003 for an upgrade to 2007?
I've got OEM version of W7 Pro 64 bit. I've had it about 2 months and everything is working fine except IE8 64 bit. I normally use Firefox so haven't been to concerned. I'm now trying to figure out why my IE8 64 bit dosn't work. The IE8 32 bit works fine. The error I get when I start IE8 64 is
"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
I've downloaded IE8-WindowsVista-x64-ENU and tried installing that but get the error: "Internet Explorer 8 is not supported on this operating system". I've checked in control panel system and it reports my o/s is 64 bit.
I'm having trouble with my windows installation. It seems windows installation was corrupted. I get the following when I boot (this is a summary):
Windows failed to start. . . Insert an installation disc [and repair your computer]... File: EFIMicrosoftBootBCD Status: 0xc000000f Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
However, the big problem starts here: the recovery options in the windows installation disc don't work. It just says it's not compatible with my version of windows (even though I know it must be, since that was the disc I installed from). How can I repair my windows installation? Could I connect my corrupt hard drive to another computer and do it through there?
Recently a friend of mine gave me a Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.1 because mine broke and I was in need of another mouse. The first day I used it everything was ok but then Windows 7 started giving Unkown device message and errors.I can fix it but only temporary by plugging out the battery for 15 minutes after boot the pc the mouse will work but if the cable will be moved a bit,I will get unknown device message.

I'm trying to uninstall/reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2005-2008-2010 but a window pops up saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." "Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'vcredist' in the box below." I went to my C:UsersLarAppDataLocalTempIXP001.TMP but it didn't work all it says is "The file 'C:UsersLarAppDataLocalTempIXP001.TMP' is not a valid installation package for the product Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. Try to find the installation package 'vcredist.msi' in a folder from which you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable." Mind you it does this for any version I try to uninstall So I rebooted and tried again but the Temp folder wasn't there which was to be expected but now I can't find any vcredist.msi on my computer and it does the same thing in safe mode
