Can't Connect To Net Via Nokia One Touch / Nokia Pc Suite
Sep 22, 2009Recently installed Windows 7 build 7600.
After installing i updated the system using windows update by connecting to the internet via my nokia n70 usb modem by installing the latest nokia pc suite,
during the update it was working fine, but after i restarted the system and again tried to connect to net via same, the nokia one touch access kept on showing opening port and then nothing is happening.
I went to the network adapter setting and clicked on nokia n70 usb modem(OTA)
It shows error 711 that remote access connection manager(RACM) failed to start in time.
Then checked my services there i found that the dependencies of RACM ie secure socket tunneling protocol is not running. I tried to start the service but was showing that sstp starts when it is used by some specific program or else then it automatically turns off.

May 17, 2009I have just installed the new RC version of Win 7 and getting to grips with it and along the way discovering which software or existing applications will run on/with the new OS, so far not that many problems and Win 7 has XP mode/virtulisation, a very good application but something to be wary of IMO.
My problem lays with my Nokia N 95 8gb phone.
There are no more firmware updates for my phone, but I use the Nokia software to make back ups of my phone contents to my PC, again no problems, under Windows XP home or under Win 7.
I have the most recent Nokia software but am running into problems under Win 7, my Belkin bluetooth dongle and my phone can no longer find each other.
What I do get sometimes is a window informing me some Bluetooth peripheral is missing or can't be found, basically there are some drivers missing but I'm not sure if it's in the nokia software/updater or Win 7, iIf I try to update drivers, I can't boxes are greyed out.
The next issue and I guess connected to the above and a lot more troublesome for me is I use my phone a lot as a camera and upload my pictures using a Belkin Bluetooth dongle, never had a problem until today,
I can not get the phone to recognise or connect to the dongle or vice versa under WIN 7, I cannot transfer a photo from my phone to my PC using Bluetooth, the phone informs me of a failed connection.
The dongle firmware has been updated.
Not a problem I thought, I'll install and run the original dongle software and the original Nokia PC suite software in Win 7 XP mode,( which is XP pro ), nothing doing, I'm running in to the same brick wall and problem.
This has surprised me a bit as everything worked great under my old OS, XP Home.
I have looked at the Nokia forums, no joy, although there does appear to be issues.
Where does the problem lay, can I get my Nokia phone/ bluetooth to run under WIN 7 or in XP mode?

Before on the xp laptop she used to work with Microsoft works Suite 2001that ran Microsoft Works 6.0 and mainly the Picture It part of the suite using the Picture It, Publishing 2001 Set up Design and Art.She still likes this prog as she is very comfortable with it and it does just what she wants it to do. I tried to install the worksuite 2001 onto the new pc from the original discs that we have and after a while an error comes up unable to load dll file ?? I turn off the CA firewall and everything works fine again, but I want to properly configure the firewall for MCE communications.I called CA Tech support and they started to help, but then refused to continue once the support supervisor was contacted regarding my problem, indicating it was up to me to obtain and sort out the port problem.Having read several posts on various sites on the topic outlining theoretical solutions, I have yet to find a do-this-it-works-and-solves-the-problem post. I posted this inquiry elsewhere but got referred back to all the stuff that I'd already found, read and tried (that didn't work).Since then I've found Microsoft's list of programs and ports that Media Center needs opened up, but am not familiar enough with CA's ISS+ to make the fewest number of changes to get the job done.

I haven't installed anything on my laptop since getting it back, but have run testdisk, AOMEI partition assistant, and photorec from my external hard drive in an attempt to recover about 30 Gb of hidden and encrypted data that was housed in my Yo-Safe. I don't think the data would have been overwritten, but I haven't been able to locate it yet.
