Seem to be going around in circles ... just want to install Wan Miniport (IKEv2) driver. The driver won't install. I have a new internal adapter ... I haven't intalled yet. That's the issue ... Isn't it? The driver needs the adapter to recongize. Did I fix it myself? Install the adapter then the drivers

I cannot access the Internet from my desktop.I get message that Wan Miniport (IKEv2) cannot upload 31. I guess I need to download updated driver but how can I do it if I cannot access the Internet from this machine. I have a laptop. My laptop runs on Vista and my desktop on Window 7 64 bit.

I disabled it a long time ago but it always comes up as an error when I scan my computer. It won't update the driver, Windows always says that there was an error, and as far as I can see it doesn't do anything but it won't let me remove it even though it isn't working.

I later found out that this has something to do with WAN Miniport PPTP not being present (which must've been to do with that dodgy modem). However, I can't seem to find the driver for it or any way to reinstall.

Every time I start the computer a little window pops up and says that it's trying to install "eset personal firewall miniport #xxx" then fails. View 2 Replies View RelatedLet me explain to you my setup before I explain my problem. I have a desktop computer with a wireless network card which connects to the router and the internet. I have a LAN cable attached from the desktop to my xbox 360. I have both my wireless connections and LAN connection bridged so I can play xbox 360 on xbox live without using the proprietary wireless adapter. My wireless network is capable of connecting to my wireless n router upto 300mbps.
So here is the issue:
When my xbox 360 is on, the Mac Bridge Miniport speed is listed as either 300mbps or sometimes 1Gbps which is good. As soon as I turn it off, the speed drops to 54mbps and stays there. In order for me to get it back to 300mbps I have to delete the Mac Bridge Miniport and recreate it or I have to turn my xbox back on. Is there someway I can make the Mac Bridge Miniport stay at 300mbps always, even when the xbox is off?
I recently found this in my network connections and I'm curious to what it is used for...
Anyone have an idea?

The security software on the laptop will not work because Windows 7 SP1 has not been installed on the laptop. I can't seem to download SP1 from Microsoft. The local office of Geek Squad diagnosed the problem being that there is a problem with Windows 7 and it will need to be re-installed. I would like to see if forum members agree or have a different diagnosis. View 2 Replies View Relatedrecently had to re-install Win7 on my 2009 Acer Aspire 5738Z. The laptop originally came with Vista. I had the hard drive partitioned in half. D: is running Vista. I didn't want to nuke it in case of an emergency. That was a good call because Win7 went bad. C: now runs fresh install of Win 7 64x Pro. I bring up the fact about Vista so you know this was not a native Win7 machine. After the OS re-install & a million window updates & reboots later I was left with some questions.-I have just some basic programs installed so far. My work Outlook (several gigs), office 2010, firefox, chrome, skype, teamviewer, iTunes (fresh install no music). I looked in C: in Computers & I'm using 59G of a 100 G HDD! Does that sound normal? I think I saw right after the Win7 install & all updates it was just over 40G used! Should Win7 & all needed updates amount to 40-50+ G of space? If not what have I done wrong?
-So far the system seems to be running fine. I'm just not sure if i have all the needed drivers for my laptop. I've noticed when I use the volume buttons no icon displays on the screen. It always showed up in Vista & the old Win7. That make me think I might be missing some drivers after the re-install. How can I find out if I have all the needed & up to date drivers?
i have two hard drive 320gb and 500gb and currently my operating system(windows 7 x64) is installed on the 320gb.i have no dvd or usb and i need to make a clean windows 7 install on the 500g but the problem is if i launch the windows 7 setup using virtual drive software on the 320gb and select to install windows 7 on the 500gb,if i remove my 320gb the boot menu is gone and wont detect my 500gb and it seems like the boot stuff is on the 320gb i want to be able to run the windows 7 setup on the 500gb hard drive independently without the 320gb because i need to give that hard drive to someone.i tried this method but it wont detect my 500gb Install Windows 7 Or Windows 8 From USB Drive/Pen Drive.i made 3 partitions on my 500gb (50gb, 50gb and 400gb) and i want to install windows 7 on 50gb partition.i have no files on my 500gb
