When you run the GPRESULTS on the laptop, I see the policy settings being applied EXCEPT for the LOGON script. Its not there. I dont see any errors and cant figure out why Windows would ignore this one setting in the policy but apply the rest. I've tried deleting and recreating the policy but that does not work.

My friend is trying to access a particular website (youconvertit.com) but gets HTTP 403 errors (access forbidden) whenever he does. Other web activity is fine.
1. When I take MY laptop round to his house, I can connect to the site no problem.
2. When we take HIS laptop to another neighbour's, he gets the same 403 message.
3. MY laptop is still connecting OK.

It reached to the page where it shows the disk partition. I deleted the partitions and created new one. However, whenever I create the partition, it creates a primary one and gives me error saying Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am installing Windows 7. I deleted all partitions during the install setup and created a new one for Windows to install on (plus the 100MB partition it created itself). The installation seems to go fine until the "completing installation" phase. The computer reboots and the Windows 7 desktop appears but an error window pops up that says "The system unexpectedly rebooted during the installation. The installation can not be completed." It also tells me to restart the installation (which I've done several times with the same result each time).
I know that the system meets (actually exceeds) the minimum requirements. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or what could be causing this problem?

But my system initially had windows 7 on it,when I try to boot with windows 7 system automatically switches off while loading windows screen. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two hard drives, one is SATA 500gb and the other is IDE 150gb. I had Windows 7 on the SATA and an old Ubuntu on the IDE hard drive. I hardly ever used Ubuntu and got tired of GRUB coming up every time I booted asking which OS I want so I decided to uninstall it. I wanted to go ahead and reformat the drive so I used an old Windows XP cd I have to reformat the 150g IDE drive. It wouldn't let me just reformat without installing XP so I went ahead and did that.So now whenever I turn on the PC it automatically boots into Windows XP. In XP I can see both drives, my 500gb with all my files and Windows 7 and the 150gb with just XP on it. In my BIOS the SATA 500gb is set as the main hdd, and is set as #1 in the boot priority (IDE hdd is not anywhere in boot priority). When I bring up the boot list and choose the SATA HDD it just brings up a BIOS flasher, no Windows 7.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm an IT proffesional, currently going learning for my Configuring Windows 7.I used windows 7 since the first beta came out, and I must say, I never was dissapointed by it.But because I am learning I am trying to get all the computers here running windows 7, and I have a computer in my office wich I am trying to install it on.There are a few problems thoug:The computer only has a CDrom player, and cannot boot from a usb device.When I first got it, windows XP was installed, and it only had 750 mb of memory. Stupid as I was, I decided to give it a try anyway installing windows 7 from inside Windows XP using an external DVD player connected with USB.This failed, and gave me lots of error so I tried the next step.
As It cannot find a network share I had to instal windows PE on a CDrom and from there I could acces my extrernal HDD where I had a clean copy of windows 7 on as INSTALL.wim. I cleaned everything, and created everything from scratch with succes. Image X worked, and BCDboot worked. So it seemed to go great.After restarting my system, it still will only give me, Missing operating system.I tried to search on the internet but couldn't really find something related to my problem.In the bios it says I can start from IDE CD-rom device, Diskette drive, Hard-Disk Drive c:, Integrated NIC (Disabled)I bought some different memory and I am now at 1.5 mb DDRIt is an Intel Pentium 4 processor 2.4 Ghz Level Cachge 512 Integrated.It's a DELL Optiplex Gx260 Series.
The boot menu gives me:. Normal2. Hard-Disk Drive C: (Wich I used for my 100mb) (And I used D for my big partition and with BCDboot I used D:WindowsSystem32cdboot d:windows /s D: ) Wich worked because he did copy the files.
I have a HP dv9920us. A month ago I upgraded to win7 from vista. Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago when returning from work I found a black screen and an error message " no operating system found". No attention paid since I thought that my hdd went bad. So got a new one installed it but got the same message. So went into BIOS and saw that no hdd was detected. My laptop has 2 sata ports so I changed port and to my relive BIOS recognized my hdd in this 2nd port leading me to believe that the first port had gone bad. I did a clean win7 install. Everything went fine. Installed drivers etc no problem. During the first boot after and right after the post message the laptop just suddenly shut down and rebooted and then shut down again just after the post message. This loop went on for a couple of times and finally ended to a black screen with the message " no operating system found". Checked the BIOS again and the hdd was there. Booted the machine with the installation dvd in the drive this time and after the same loop for a couple of times (boot-post message- shut down- reboot ) instead of going to the no "operating system found" it continued and loaded win7. I've performed every possible test that I know for checking memory, hdd etc and everything looks good. The bottom line is that now the only way that I can use my laptop is to boot it with the installation disc in and it loads and works perfectly. If I try to boot it without the disc I end up with the "no operating system found".

Well I clicked save user data to C: drive, for me a first time user of a netbook...didn't know that if I clicked that and was using a different windows 7 edition from the OEM. That a different windows 7 edition data couldn't be saved. Now, whenever I boot up my netbook, windows will try to install on my computer but gives error:

Ok, so earlier today i decided that i needed to restore my laptop to factory default. As you can see from the title, i use an acer laptop which means i used the acer Erecovery software. All went well at first, although it took a stangely long time at a screen which said "setup is starting." The problem now is, I am now stuck on the acer 'software installation screen!' It is stuck at 41/48 where it is trying to install clear.fi v1.0. I think i heard the sound of an error earlier which worries me as i dont want to force restart my laptop as it clearly says not to do that and doing this caused my hard-drive to break last time

Although I am reasonably knowledgable about Windows, I haven't used it since XP, about four years ago, and so am pretty rusty.Basically, my girlfriends computer randomly turned off about a week ago, she assumed it was a dead battery, plugged it in, and then when it turned back on it wouldn't boot displaying error message: missing operating system.As it is a Dell laptop it didn't come with any installation discs, and I totally forgot to even make a repair disc when we got the laptop. I managed to get hold of a Windows 7 Installation Disc and license key for Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit through my university. I think the laptop was previously running Windows 7 Home Premium, but that's all I know, and I'm not entirely sure of that fact.
Anyway, burnt the .iso to disc and have tried to boot several times from DVD Drive. The laptop loads the files from the DVD fine, and gets as far as the "Starting Windows" screen, where it seems to get stuck for a few minutes, until it becomes a black screen with just a cursor (the cursor still moves). This also happens with an 64 bit repair DVD I also managed to get hold of.
I am having a problem of installing several driver into a VM which run on Dell Latitude E4310, it prompt me, "the system doesn't meet minimum requirement to.... ", let's take display driver for this case. The driver I download from dell website.
