Upgrade On HP Pavilion DV4 1435dx
I have HP Pavilion DV4 1435dx running Vista(x64), I recieved my Upgrade Kit today and  I'm having trouble getting it to start up. I insert the disk into my optical drive as directed by the instructions that came with it. Now when I insert the disk nothing happens, no Auto Play option comes up nothing, when I try to do it manually it says insert CD. So it got me thinking maybe something is wrong with my optical drive, so I insert a DVD movie and all works fine I also try and Audio CD and everything is good as well.

Now I tried calling Tech Support and the Upgrade Kit distributor and nothing worked. I'm wondering how can I fix this and has anyone experienced this with their Upgrade Kit? Also if I can't use the Upgrade Kit, will I be able to just download Windows 7 and use the Product Key that came with my Upgrade Kit?

Upgrade On HP Pavilion Dv4 1225dx
I have just purchased an HP Pavilion dv4-1225dx laptop, and this is the one time I like the software that has come pre-installed (HP Mediasmart software) And so, by doing a clean install, ill lose the webcam software (mediasmart component) and the other stuff I have on there (Installing WoW again and downloading updates..not doing it again).

I tried the upgrade feature and it hung at 18% for a while and I gave up on it (Second line on the install screen, I forget what it says it is) So I was wondering if it is normal for it to han ga little while doing an upgrade from an OEM version of Vista or just upgradeing in general..?

External Speakers Work, Laptop Speakers Do Not
I have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and have recently upgraded to windows 7 professional (32bit) from windows vista. Everything seems to be running smoothly except I can get no sound from the internal laptop speakers. When I plug in external speakers in via the jacks on the front, sound comes through fine, but as soon as I unplug them there is nothing. Headphones also work like this too. Under sounds in device manager, it simply says 'High Definition Audio Device', and I'm not sure if I should be downloading some other drivers?

HP Pavilion Dv9000 Laptop Driver For Base System Device
I just installed Windows 7 Beta on my HP Pavilion Dv9000 laptop and everything is working really well, but in device manager I have 2 items listed under Other Devices that say Base Sytem Device.  I am assuming I need some kind of driver for them, but I am not sure how to tell what they are or what driver they will need.  How do I figure this out?

If I get the properties of these devices under the general tab I see Device type: Other device, Manufacturer: Unknown, and Location: PCI bus 9, device 9, function 3.

HP Dv4 1428 No Audio
I just purchased an hp laptop from Bestbuy: DV4-1428 found here:

Computers: Laptops: HP Pavilion 14.1" Laptop featuring AMD Turion X2 (DV4-1428CA) | Best Buy Canada Web Store

It came with Vista, and I couldn't find the drivers for it to downgrade it to XP, so I decided to go with Win 7. I already have Win 7 on my PC and everything works great, but on my laptop, it won't recognize the audio drivers. Windows 7 says that there are no speakers connected.

I went to the hp website but the only drivers I could find that might be useful was the BIOS upgrade for Vista x64, so I downloaded it and installed it onto the system. Nothing happened.

I've downloaded the 64 bit version of Win 7 on this laptop.

Any help/suggestions? I really don't want to go back to Vista, and XP looks like it won't even work because no drivers for xp exist for this laptop.

Headset Getting Feedback From Speakers
I'm using a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum sound card and an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium 939 NVIDIA nForce4 motherboard. This setup worked fine on WinXP with my Logitech headset plugged into the Mic slot on my sound card. Never had a problem and never had to mess with any settings.

Now, since doing a clean install of Windows 7, my Mic is picking up major feedback. If I happen to set the headset down or brush a finger along the actual microphone receiver, my speakers crackle and break-up.

When I was trying to fool around with the recording properties under Sound, the "What You Hear" device is the one picking up my mic. There's also a volume bar to the right of the sound devices where it shows sound coming out of the respective device. Whenever I have sound coming out of my speakers, I also have it showing up on the "What You Hear" device as well.
I normally use my headset in Ventrilo, and now whenever I talk, my mic also plays back anything that comes over my speakers as well.

Is this a driver problem or has anyone else had any similar problems? I've tried messing with multiple settings with my speaker settings as well as the "What You Hear" device with no luck. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

USB Speakers Not Working
Upgraded to 7 two days ago and cannot get anything out of them. Diagnostics tells me they are working and all drivers are up to date. I have tried designating them as default device and no sound comes out of the computer at all.

When I designate the internal speakers as default and then plug in the usb speakers, the internal speakers continue to work but nothing comes out of the usb speakers. Does anyone know if these are just incompatible with 7 or am I doing something wrong..

Audio From Speakers, Not From Headset
I have 2 speakers, nothing fancy. And a Sennheiser USB headset. Problem is when I set my default audio device to Realtek High Def Audio, my speakers work and my headphones don't. I have to manually set the default device to my headphones, but then my speakers don't work.

Is there a way to have audio through both?

No Speakers Or Headphones Are Plugged In
I have installed windows 7 on my pc, every drivers installed correctly. But win7 can't detect my speakers when they are plugged in. It says that : No speakers or headphones are plugged in. When I click on the icon with the speaker and the X surrounded by red circle, it tries to find problems but it finally says: The peripheral does not appear to be plugged in.

Check the connection. Proceed to next step to finish. I can't figure out whats the problem.. I have winxp installed on another partition and speakers work fine.. the problem is definatly in windows 7 configuration.
