Aug 1, 2011Well, I think it's my computer. Basically, I video'd something the other day on my panasonic camera, and when I went to turn it off, it said something like "Could not save file as speed of SD card is not available" or something like that.. But when I went to put the rest of my videos on my computer that file was on the SD Card, so I tried to add it to my computer... This was when the error code 0X80070570 and it said "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable... But I tried to play it on Windows Media Player and it plays fine... THe only thing different is on the seek bar thingy it comes up with 00:00 so you can't go forward or backward, but it still plays fine... If possible I would really like to fix the error, because the corrupted video is something that I'd ideally like to have.

Sep 3, 2012I want to simply connect my satellite receiver (has HDMI, composite video, it also has some sort USB) to my PC so that I can watch TV while working without needing a separate TV in my office. I have 2 monitors.
- I don't want to buy expensive vivo card
- I don't need to record, just watch live from Satellite Receiver (or a different source)
- sound should be transmitted
- should work regardless of PC graphics (currently have G45 onboard video, may buy i3 with onchip graphics only)
I found these StarTech Video-to-USB devices but read mixed reviews and it seems those are geared towards videoconversion and often have sound problems.

Feb 21, 2012I work as a pianist and have recorded a few videos of me playing the piano using my mini-DV camcorder (a Panasonic NV-GS230). I transferred the videos from camcorder to PC using Panasonic's MotionDV Studio software which has created very good quality .AVI files. When I watch the AVI files on my 4 year old laptop (Acer Aspire 5920 running Vista) the video quality looks superb - the video looks very clear and runs very smoothly. However, when I watch the video on my new custom PC (spec included below) for some reason the video looks a little more grainy/blurry and not quite so fluid/smooth. If I say the video quality on the laptop is 100%, then I'd have to say the quality on the PC is about 75-80%. Here is my PC speec
