View 1 RepliesI'm putting this in Windows 7 because it does this with all browsers. Initially, it did it with Google Chrome, but after I uninstalled it, it started up Firefox when I pressed the control button. I have no idea how it started, I restarted my computer and it still persisted.

View 3 Replies View Relatedwhy is there not a very good software program that will eliminate this problem? Many programs offer to identify and remove this malware but none do. Many offer a free download or evaluation but none will remove "About:Blank" browser hacker. Is this such an involved process that a specialist troubleshooter is needed to identify and then offer to remove for a price?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to upgrade from 32-bit Vista Home Premium to Windows 7. I used the 32-bit disk to avoid having to do a full clean install, but every time (4 tries so far) that I've done it, it will get to the last portion of the upgrade where it transfers over all the old documents and programs. At that point the screen turns into a weird pattern of diagonal lines. Sometimes they are white and blue lines 1 inch thick, other times they are really thin lines. The machine is fairly new and high-end for a Vista machine, so the graphics card should be perfectly. I've run the Upgrade Advisor and it only mentions a couple software issues such as iTunes which I can't see as prohibiting the upgrade.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't recall any recent change before this issue, but everytime I start my computer, all my icons go to the left side of the screen. I temporarily downloaded a software to reset my icons when I start the computer, but I don't want to keep on having to go through this all the time. I tried the regedit...that didn't work. I tried right clicking the desktop and resetting them there...that doesn't work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently updated Firefox and somehow IE7 became my default browser. Could have been the kids playing around. I went and switched back to Firefox as default but I have a few internet programs that do not run in Firefox so I had the desktop shortcuts set to open with IE. When I switched Firefox back to default my links switched also. When I open the properties of the link, before you could choose the program you wanted it to open with and uncheck the "make this default" box. Now this box is greyed out. How do I go about changing the browser for only specific desktop links?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my last computer I had found a way of putting website shortcuts right onto my desktop. It was really convenient because I could keep all my casual "play" bookmarks in the browser itself, and important sites for things like banking and online bills were accessed from a special corner of my desktop. I've since built a new computer and I don't remember how I did it before. My primary browser is Chrome and I can't find a way to save bookmarks to the desktop. What I've been forced to do is right click on the desktop, go in "New" and then select "Shortcut", and then just put the website's URL. It works but the icon pictures are all wrong. On my last comp each website had a proper icon (Bank of Montreal had the BMO logo, Videotron had the Videotron logo, etc).

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are using some Lenovo Q180's as media players for digital signage. For the most part they have all been working fine except for 2. Randomly, the signage presentation will re-size itself and move into the upper left corner. This happens randomly and not at the same times each day. They are hooked up to a LED tv via HDMI. I have tried switching the HDMI cables, ensuring all drivers are current and tried most all the basic troubleshooting. A simple re-start will get everything back looking and running fine. Again, this is a digital signage application so we cannot tell if this has occurred until the client calls to let us know which is not good for us.
