View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using Windows 7 backup and restore but never tested out the restore part and frankly dont trust it. Another problem is that I dont have enough room (so says the MS backup program) to backup a 640 GB system disk to a empty 640 GB disk! On top of that, I am not backing everything up and the system disk has some 105 GBs still available!

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Velocity Micro desktop, it came with XP Media Center 32 bit and has a Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB of ram, I've been wanting to try 7 for a long time so I bought a new 1TB WD black hard drive and a OEM copy of Win 7 home premium, I removed the old hard drive, installed new drive and proceeded to install Win 7, everything went fine on the install but I can't get it to connect to the internet, it reports error 651 "The modem has reported an error" and then a box pops up that looks like an old dial up connection box with a spot for a name and password and says redial in 45 sec. I'm not on dial up but am on DSL with a new Netgear N router, this computer was connecting fine just before I did the install, if I check Device manager it says the network card is working properly, and I can unhook the network cable from this computer and plug it into an old laptop with no wireless and it connects with the cable and gets 5Mbps speed so nothing is wrong with the cable

View 5 Replies View RelatedI can't open certain programs, as it says that I don't have the correct java, or its not recognized. I've always had java before, and when I tired to update, it was telling me that it either A. Couldn't do it, or B. It wasn't installed for some kind of error. I've deleted the java, and redownloaded it, and still the same problems. Also, on the automatic updates, its not letting the windows 7 SP1 update either. Maybe has to do with the Java, or vice versa?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Matlab on windows 7. There were no problems during the installation process. View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed a new motherboard an asus p8p67 with a intel i3 and upgraded to windows 7 64bit. Everything went fine the first day, but next day everything kept telling me to install flash player which I already did that along with java. I went to control panel flash player was there hit update, says I had latest version. I uninstalled flash player went to adobe and downloaded it again, install process says I have the newest version already installed but I have no flash installed at this moment. The little bar at bottom keeps saying website wants to install following adobe flash player addon which is showing right now as I write this. I installed it at first with the default 32 bit internet explorer which is ie9 but now nothing seems to work and still have no flash player installed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got windows 7 ultimate 32bit free from my school, and decided that I wanted to clean install, and not upgrade it. I transferred all my files off, booted the laptop up with the windows 7 disk, and proceeded to clean install. I didn't have the drivers cd for my laptop, but I just wiped my drive and installed 7 anyway. Now I have windows 7 ultimate 32bit, and can only use 3 of my 4 gigabytes of memory.. The thing I don't really understand is the whole upgrading option, and like, I know that it's a windows 7 32bit dvd, but it doesn't seem right to go from 64bit to 32bit. So is there anyway I can make it 64bit without having to buy a new dvd? And if not, how much am I missing out on, with not having 64bit, especially with having 4 gigabytes of ram?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my laptop about a year ago with Vista 32-bit pre-installed even though it is capable of running 64-bit, and now I'm looking to upgrade to Win7 and would like to make use of it's 64-bit capabilities. Is there any easy way of going about this? Since I got the computer with it pre-installed, it did not come with the 32/64-bit installation CDs for Vista. I can buy the Win7 64-bit upgrade CD from my campus store with my student discount, so I was hoping there would be a way for me to do this easily.

But I can't type, I can't click and highlight MSN's window and I also can't see the messages I recieve from my contact, It just freezes for about five minutes, and then comes back like nothing ever happened.
