Jan 21, 2012I have over 630 events logged in less than a year on my Win 7 Ultimate (64bit) which is basically turned one and off twice per day, all stating that my registry is leaking. Each shut down produces a 1530 event message like this below...Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards.Which is then followed by the number of leaks (from 3 to 45) but all relate to REGISTRYUSERS-1-5-21-2504074074-2207754458-538734185-1000. When I seach for this reference on the C: drive it returns me three Roaming folders under App Data. There is only one user on this machine (excluding the administrator). If there is a guest user, it doesn't show up - it boots right to my desktop.

Jan 30, 2012I'm working on a re-install of all components following a complete corruption of the boot sector on my drive which could not be fixed with repairs. The last time I installed everything fresh, I had no issues. Between then and now, there have been no hardware changes on my system, but now I am having issues installing the IDT Codecs. I keep getting an error along the following lines: Quote: ExitError: Error=Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again. Running under compatibility mode, and running drivers from both the motherboard CD and the manufacturer website both have the same effect. The CD, when booted, says "This OS not support!" and only contains 32-bit vista codecs. ECS' website download indicates the IDT drivers as being compatible with Windows 7. Both do not work. It is almost as if the hardware "disappeared," despite the fact that I was using the drivers quite successfully till just 2 days ago, when the boot sector went kaput.
Windows has installed its own default set, which do nothing to power the 8mm jacks which I use with my speakers, but instead put sound through the HDMI, which is useless because I use a dedicated graphics card. I have tried uninstalling this codec and re-installing IDT, to no effect. Windows replaces with its own default codec.I have referenced this thread here, but offered solutions do not seem to work for me: Intel IDT Audio Driver will not install

Jun 12, 2011I am trying to install Windows 7 Professional onto a computer from an 8GB USB drive.I can boot from the USB fine but when it asks you choose where you want to install Windows it can't find any drives and it says I must load a driver. This is strange because if I put the hard drive into another computer it will install Windows perfectly.I can see the HDD in the BIOS but it just can't see it when installing Windows. I have a Western Digital 320GB HDD. Any ideas what's wrong, or perhaps where I can get a driver for it? I have looked on the WD website but couldn't find anything.

Anyways, I have found that my best option (possibly the only one) is to slipstream my NVIDIA drivers into the iso install and then reinstall the OS. I am unable to get into safe mode on the Windows 7 install due to Setup not completing the initial boot process. I downloaded the Windows 7 64bit drivers for my new laptop off the HP website and the setup goes well all the way to the end when I connect the printer and wait for it to go through the driver install process. I get to step 7 of 8 and it stalls out for quite a while. When it finally completes it says that the install failed. The driver is not installed. I tried this several times. Dec 31, 2011I've spent the afternoon building my new pc. My DVD Drive is an HP dvd1260i. When I put the windows 7 disk in and try to install it, I get the error "A required CD / DVD drive device driver is missing." The drive did come with a disk that includes Nero burner and on the front says includes drivers, but windows still won't recognize it.

I've tried using the WindowsSystem32Drivers directory but it says no drivers can be found. I had to get the iso from a bit torrent; could it be I've got a 64 bit install disc and only 32 bit drivers? Maybe that's a dumb question but I'm trying to figure out why I can load the install up to that point from the DVD but it won't locate drivers.
