View 3 Replies View RelatedI moved from dsl to cable and of course changed routers. I have three computers on a network and and an HP officejet J4680 which had a ip of 192.168.1.68 on the old network and everything worked well. On the new network the printer ip has changed to 192.168.1.2 and the computers can print to the printer ok however I cannot scan a document. The paperport software seems to be looking for 192.168.1.68 and I cannot find a way to get paperport to look to 198.168.1.2. The exact same problem exists with irfranview.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys WRT54G v2 & latest OEM firmware. A few days ago I tried to release & renew my IP address to get a new one. It did not change, and just thought the Comcast modem was remembering the IP and just went about my normal web surfing. Today, nothing would connect to the internet. My WRT54Gs status was fine & had the same IP it had a few days ago.
I tried to release & renew the IP again, nothing changed. I called Comcast tech, and the automated thing reset the modem, still no internet, still same IP address. I released the IP & unplugged the router for about 5 mins, renewed & got the same IP again. I released again, and reset to factory defaults, same IP again. I tried connecting directly to the modem and see if I works, and it did!
I had another D-Link DI-624 Rev C v2.70 .. released the IP, and hooked it up .. everything works fine. So for S&Gs I released and hooked up the WRT54G to see if the IP changed at all, nope same IP! I would like to use the Linksys again, as the D-Link sometimes got funky under heavy load.

My application for changing the IP it uses netsh commands from command prompt.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwe have Laptop's with windows 7 professional 64bit in domain. admin rights are restricted to the domain users. But many users most of the time use to travel out of station and need to change the IP that time. I tried adding domain user ID's in "network configuration operator" group but still not able to change IP from domain user without giving admin right. can any body tell me any other processes to change IP from domain user not having admin rights in windows 7 ?

View 0 Replies View RelatedMy internet connection shows 'no internet access' even though my ISP shows the connection is coming into the house just fine. I usually use a router (NetGear-WNR3500U) but I right now I have the Ethernet connection plugged directly into my PC. I tried directly plugging into my laptop and the internet works just fine. So I know the problem resides in the PC.
Some troubleshooting things I have tried.
-Power cycled my modem, router and PC.
-Repinged my connection from my ISP(Comcast Xfinity)
-Used the reset option on the router and the modem
-I was walked through the internet options needed with the tech support from my ISP to make sure DHCP was enabled and every other setting was correct, and he cleared me that all settings were correct.
-Tried ipconfig commands to /renew and /release my IP When I tried ipconfig /renew I get the error 'An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server'
-Restored my PC to a restore point where the Internet was working
All of these options did not work.
What I think the problem is and I am not sure how to fix it, when I run the ipconfig /all command my Auto configuration IPv4 Address shows 169.254.112.76 which I was told is a router IP address even though I am plugged directly from the modem to my PC with an Ethernet cord. So I think that's my problem? But I am not sure.
Running Windows 7 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, Q9505 processor, Sapphire 7950...From time to time, Windows will break into a game to throw up a "Do you want to change your color scheme to improve performance?" There is no rhyme or reason to when it does it...not always the same game, not always the same programs, and sometimes it'll go for weeks and not do it at all, other times it'll do it seven or more times in one evening. When it's "on a roll," rebooting doesn't stop it from appearing. It used to have the same odd behavior with my old Asus 6870 as well.I want to permanently disable it. I have clicked "don't ask again" over and over again, which Windows ignores. I have changed the settings in the Action Center, which Windows also apparently ignores.
