View 2 RepliesI am running Windows 7 64 bit and Office 2007 and one day I get the error "Outlook could not create the work file check the temp environment". The error itself was of no help but after searching and searching I found supposed "fixes". I have tried a number of them but then I shut down the computer for the day and the next day the error is back.I will email you a beer or something.I have tried:Deleting all files in the temporary folders since one "fix" noted a full folderChecking the HKEY in regedit.exe and all was well with %userprofile%local settingemporary internet files so the suggestion was to change to "temp" instead of temporary internet files.I went into Internet Explorer tools and moved the folder per another "fix"I went to regedit and changed CACHE value to c:wi
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I attempt to log into my windows 7 user account the login is redirected to a temp user space.. The error message indicates that the reason for the redirection is because the my user account is in use. Only user active is my account, still maintain administrator privileges, but don't have default browser/home site, and files created are lost unless I deliberately place them into my default directories. Updated MS, rebooted, ran Avast boot scan and Malwarebytes scan (with Avast antiviral disabled), nothing was found.I did manually reset the default file locations for the temp guest user to my corresponding home folders, and my home login did come back up once with full functionality, but when I ran an AV boot time scan and tried to log in again it was back to the guest area.Reset the file/folder locations again but this time had no effect. Ran MS fixit program, said all errors corrected, NOT. How do I reset my account to Not In Use??

My question is this: Is there a tool available that I can run on the server that will test all machines on my network? With the free Windows Upgrade Advisor, I must visit each computer. Just looking for a way to do this without visiting each computer.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wife has a two month old Lenovo ideapad with Windows 7. We are now getting alerts that the D partition is near full. Is this system taking multipul backups of the harddrive C and storing them all? What are my best options to have a safe backup, but not overloading the D partition? I do see in; Computer>System>Device Manager>Disk Drives>D Drive General tab that there are two options at the bottom.
option one, (not checked in my case) "Compress this drive to save disk space". Option two, (checked) "Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties" If this system is saving a snapshot of D over and over, it will only be a matter of time when option one will be overcome. SO, I would think that there has to be a setting that will let partition D delete older backups...right?
Would it be a combination of selecting option one and changing a setting that would enable older backups to be automaticaly removed?
I have this problem with Asus p5q3 motherboard my system temp goes up to 60-70(celsius) and cpu (intel core 2 quad q9550) temp is low as 30-40(celsius). So how can system temp be that high?

View 4 Replies View Relatedmy computer is old and has small hard drive space, and someone recommended I delete my %temp%, my temp, and my prefetch folder, but I was just wondering, since I had to do a whole lot of searching ,and downloading of drivers, (just to make my computer compatible with windows 7), where all my downloaded drivers are? And if deleting any of these folders will screw up my drivers, and give me problems, and I would have to find the drivers again.
(Also I don't really know what the drivers are called, so I can't really search for them) Because I really wanna delete these folders to make my computer faster, because on XP, where my drivers always worked and I never needed to update them, I deleted those folders all the time, and it made it faster because those folders had a crapload of stuff in them, but I don't want my computer to not be compatible with the games/videos/music/etc. I use it for.

Are there any decent Monitoring gadgets for measuring Core / gpu / HDD Temps out there, as I can not seem to find any?
I have been overclocking so need to monitor my temps for at least the next few weeks and a gadget would be handy, instead of speed fan etc, etc
I've been lately noticing outrageous temperatures on my CPU. When in idle, it rarely drops below 80 degrees, and when playing/browsing/basically multitasking and the CPU usage goes over 50%, it peaks to 105, 106, 107 degrees. I know I should be worried, and I am. What can I do? Dust the fans off

I also did a scan with Registry Easy and fixed all the new errors that appeared with this but all were fixed besides the Temp folder.
I searched and no one has given me a straight answer. I dont have the Windows 7 disc because I got this computer from a pawn. (nothing was wrong with it I know for a fact) Is there any other way to fix this besides restarting the entire pc. I know there is...

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy computer is shutting down periodically. This just started today, and it has happened twice now. What noticed when I rebooted was that the CPU temperature was at 90C. Now I know that isn't safe, so I am assuming that the overheating is causing the PC to shut down. Is that a correct assessment? So I opened my case up and layed it on the hard floor. CPU temp according to two different utilities (Core Temp and Speccy) is fluctuating between 24C and 25C. Everything seems very stable now.I ran Avast, but nothing came up. I also made sure that all of the fans are operating, and they are. PSU fan, CPU, etc are all running.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI put Windows 7 in a 40gb partition and am trying to install programs to the larger partition. But I noticed free space is still going down on C:. Checking sizes I found a temp folder in usersappdatalocal that is up to 3.6gb. I tried the system clean up but it only listed a few meg in the temp folder. Seems it points to another temp folder which also still had stuff after the "cleanup". Is it safe to delete all that crap in this temp folder?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7, My desk top computers has three hard drives, the "C" with just the programmers and other system files, the other two hard drives (all SATA) are used with my main files (E & F) . Drives E & F are set as "Shared drives " I often update files between my Toshiba laptop (also using Windows7) and vice versa. I have a hard wired network connection between these two computers. Now my question why are so many temp files being added to my shared hard drives, I have only noticed this recently, I certainly did not get these when I had an XP Pro set-up, and between four computers. Is this problem associated with me allowing shared use between computers? I am also running office 2010 on both these computers. My emails are using outlook and IMAP, both computers emails systems are always synchronized, I think this is a feature of MS Office 2010, and is very helpful.
What happens if I delete these temp files? I am enclosing a copy of the temp files on my "e" drive so you can see.
