Big Mess After Creating New Profile And Deleting Original Profile?
Jul 9, 2012Originally I had all my data files in drive D and only programs in drive C. Somehow my old user profile got corrupted and the Backgound wall paper is not working properly. So I created a new admin profile to fix it but now I have a mess.After I created a new admin profile and moved the old users folder/files to the new user , I decided to delete the old profile after everything seems to be working properly . When deleting the old profile I elected to save old user files to my desktop ( fortunately) . I now have a very fragmented system . Some of the folder/files are still under my old username in D drive, nothing in my new user name in D drive plus almost all of the folder/files from the old user ( in drive D) are now in a folder on the desktop where windows elected to place them when I elected to save the folders/files. I really need all the old user folders.I would like to have the Data in either under my old or new username in Drive D instead of fragmented all over the place. I realize I ended up in this situation because I didnt understand fully what windows will do when creating and deleting user profiles.

May 18, 2012i have problems with adobe cs6 installing, and it's been suggested i install it under a new profile. no problem with that, however, will i be able to access / run it under my 'normal' profile? finally, will doing this affect any of my existing programs in my 'normal' profile?

Sep 21, 2012since about two weeks ago, every two times I power my laptop on, windows fails to load the my user profile and greets me with the temp user profile where I can't access my files and such. however, if I reboot after that it loads my user profile sucessfully. but if I reboot again It loads the temp profile. I scanned unsing My antivirus, and it turned up no bad results. I then tried a disk check, but it only was on for less then 5 seconds when it just said "the disk is clean." i'm not sure what to do now. any suggestions? it's really irritataing having to constantly reboot every time i turn my laptop on.

Dec 13, 2011Right now I have my system set up so that my windows files are on my SSD, but my users file is on my HDD.
Thing is that I am going home for xmas and wish to take only my laptop. I took the HDD out of my laptop and set it up in a RAID0 array with a couple other drives.
So I wish to just install my SSD into my laptop and run windows off of it, but I cannot do so without a user profile. So I was wondering if there was a way to set up and temporary user profile for myself without having to change all the registry settings?
Creating Default User Profile In Windows 7 64bit?
Oct 30, 2010Since windows 98, We have always been able to do the first time logon, setup all the applications, desktop settings, IE settings, everything, with a 'profile' user. We then rebooted the machine, logged on as administrator and Deleted the contents of the 'default user' folder and copied that 'profile' user sub folders into the 'default user' folder. We would then reset the permissions on that, 'default user' and all the sub folders of the 'default user' folder to allow access. This way when ANY user logs into the machine all the settings are as they should be rather than having to go through them all again from the beginning each and every time a FTL (first time logon) occurs.
It is also very good when a profile becomes corrupted and you have to start over. When I try this in windows 7 64bit I've now messed it up so that any new user that logs in gets an error message saying they've been logged in with temporary profile and all changes will be lost when log out. Although, all the setting seem to be there. So I'm just missing the something that tells windows 7 this new default is ok. Can this still be done? What are the steps now? What has changed and how do we accomplish this, at one time, simple task? {I have done this successfully with Vista 32 bit} .

Oct 8, 2011so I was on my desktop main account and then let my dad log on to a guest account I recently created for him since his laptop isn't working, then when I came back I logged onto my profile I couldn't open any browser, in the case of firefox this came up (firefox can't load host something, missing profile) and chrome (your preferences cannot be read)
then I couln't open some shorcuts (windows cannot find the target. and my utorrent setting reset as well, like if I had never used it, BUT the guest account works perfectly.
I'm able to open firefox with open as administrator but all addons, bookmarks are gone, I can't open the document, picture, and music links on the start menu either
Creating New Folder Ends Up Creating 2 Or 3 New Folders?
Jan 7, 2013Under computer I go to my drive of folders. When I click new folder either by right clicking or by hitting new folder the system then creates 2 or 3 new folders at one time. I then have to go back and delete the extra folders. At first I did not mind because it only happened once or twice and now it is every time.

Oct 2, 2009my computer is old and has small hard drive space, and someone recommended I delete my %temp%, my temp, and my prefetch folder, but I was just wondering, since I had to do a whole lot of searching ,and downloading of drivers, (just to make my computer compatible with windows 7), where all my downloaded drivers are? And if deleting any of these folders will screw up my drivers, and give me problems, and I would have to find the drivers again.
(Also I don't really know what the drivers are called, so I can't really search for them) Because I really wanna delete these folders to make my computer faster, because on XP, where my drivers always worked and I never needed to update them, I deleted those folders all the time, and it made it faster because those folders had a crapload of stuff in them, but I don't want my computer to not be compatible with the games/videos/music/etc. I use it for.

Nov 17, 2012when i try to create a new user profile ~ with or without a password, it shows up on the main login page, but when i click on it to open, the message "UserProfileService_service failed the logon_user profile cannot be loaded". i have searched microsoft support with little solutions listed. and the ones that are listed seem too technical for me to be trying on my own. there are many posts there with this problem, but they all seem to be several years old.
i am using windows 7. i have never been able to create any accounts other than my administrator account & the one account i use for all my general computer use. i have been using norton 360 with no problems. i have resorted to just using any "log in/log out' links on all the sites my husband wants to use.i am really not all that confident doing anything super technical to fix this, since i don't have a real understanding of different extensions or types of files. i am afraid i could really mess everything up really bad. but, it would just be SO MUCH EASIER & FASTER if i had my account & my husband had his own account.

Jul 13, 2011My wife's Dell desktop (after a nighttime thunderstorm) will not permit her to log on. When she enters the password she gets the following message: "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded". Has anyone encountered this issue and is there a user fix, or should we take the computer back to where it was bought for service?

When in idle, it rarely drops below 80 degrees, and when playing/browsing/basically multitasking and the CPU usage goes over 50%, it peaks to 105, 106, 107 degrees. Jul 12, 2012my computer is shutting down periodically. This just started today, and it has happened twice now. What noticed when I rebooted was that the CPU temperature was at 90C. Now I know that isn't safe, so I am assuming that the overheating is causing the PC to shut down. Is that a correct assessment?So I opened my case up and layed it on the hard floor. Checking sizes I found a temp folder in usersappdatalocal that is up to 3.6gb. I tried the system clean up but it only listed a few meg in the temp folder. Jun 26, 2011I am using Windows 7, My desk top computers has three hard drives, the "C" with just the programmers and other system files, the other two hard drives (all SATA) are used with my main files (E & F) . Drives E & F are set as "Shared drives " I often update files between my Toshiba laptop (also using Windows7) and vice versa. I have a hard wired network connection between these two computers. Now my question why are so many temp files being added to my shared hard drives, I have only noticed this recently, I certainly did not get these when I had an XP Pro set-up, and between four computers. Is this problem associated with me allowing shared use between computers? I am also running office 2010 on both these computers. My emails are using outlook and IMAP, both computers emails systems are always synchronized, I think this is a feature of MS Office 2010, and is very helpful.
What happens if I delete these temp files? I am enclosing a copy of the temp files on my "e" drive so you can see.
