I partitioned the hard drive and attempted to install XP professional, however,I get the message that the OS is a later version than XP, therefore XP cannot be installed.
I have recently bought a brand new Lenovo ThinkPad Edge laptop with no OS and I am having a big problem installing Windows 7. When I start the laptop the windows boots and starts loading files but when the "Starting Windows" appears everything stops... I have waited for hours but no progress. I have tried it many times even from a USB flash drive but nothing.
When trying to install W7 in 64-bit form I get the error message "The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks."
this is new purchased notebook and i can't install the windows 7 anywehere in the driver
I am running Windows 7 on a Lenovo T60 laptop. When I try to download files or programs, I constantly get a message stating that there is insufficient storage. I have run disk cleanup and defragged multiple times and deleted everything that I am comfortable deleting with no improvement.
My lenovo laptop has been having a problem - the screen sometimes turns black for a few times and a blue screen occur after that. I usually just force the laptop off and restart it. A few days ago this happened and I switched off my laptop, and it cannot be started normally since then I can only start it in safe mode. when i try to start it normally it just freezes in a dark screen.
Starting about two days ago (Friday - October 12th) my laptop has been experiencing what I can only seem to call internet "hiccups"I will easily connect to the internet upon starting it up, as usual, but after attempting to browse the internet or use any online game or application, it takes several minutes to load before telling me I have no internet connection, all the while it is showing I have excellent 5 bar connection in the bottom right next to my clock. After experimenting, I decided to use the command prompt to ping google using the -t command so it would continually ping it.This showed that during a "hiccup" period (When my internet isn't working but shows it's working), I only get packets back about every other time, while the others say "Request timed out"So it is showing that I am literally connected every other second. I theorize that this is why it doesn't show me disconnected in the bottom right.I've tried reinstalling the drivers, restarting, restoring, and anything else I and several of my friends could think of to no avail. I have absolutely no idea why this is happening.
My lenovo G560 laptop fails to start. Its showing one message. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer. But I don't have disc..
My Lenovo X61S [7668-CTO] laptop has been freezing up all month. To my knowledge, I have installed all Lenovo and Windows updates--including Windows 7 SP-1 today. Error messages below. They are all BCCode 124, whatever that means. TSG SysInfo follows. Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 OS. The laptop shut down while plugged in overnight. I have removed the battery and let it sit for hours to cool/reset. Upon power up, the hard drive light comes on for 2-3 seconds, then goes off. Sometimes the screen flickers white for another 2-3 seconds, but the OS never boots up. I have removed the hard drive and plugged it into another computer via a SATA cable. I was able to read data. The drive appears to be working. I ran Malware Bytes and it cleared off some suspect files (PUP.FunWebProducts and PUP.MyWebSearch). I have a log file to post if helpful. When I put the hard drive back into the laptop, I get the same result as before. I made a recovery disc on another Win 7 computer and attempted to boot the Lenovo from the disc, but still I get the same result. I have tried pressing F8 at start up, but still no joy. Is this a BIOS issue, failed HD controller, or something else?

I have lenovo y560 laptop which has an inbuilt tv tuner. I am trying to watch tv using vlc player and media player classic but I am unable to watch tv. How to watch tv, by using which player I can watch tv.
I'm working on a friends PC, a win 7 64 bit on a Lenovo Ideapad model B560. This thing has One Key Recovery installed.. Instead of having factory restore disks this tool recovers the system to factory defaults via a hidden partition that contains the restore data.More info about One Key Recovery here What is OneKey Recovery? - Yahoo! AnswersYou cannot change or resize partitions or One Key Recovery wont work. This PC had malware on it and can't boot into normal windows mode (that's the main problem) .. but it will boot into safe mode. I removed the malware with Malwarebytes but the PC still wont boot in normal mode. I tried to use One key Recovery but it refuses to work in safe mode.
One Key Recovery sets up the PC with 3 separate partitions. A C drive for Windows and pre-installed Lenovo software, a D drive that's large for data and the hidden recovery partition. I don't want to cripple this functionality so I can't do a complete reinstall of windows from a win 7 dvd. I thought I'd use a win 7 dvd to do a repair install instead - hoping this wont mess with the partitions but just fix the windows errors keeping it from booting normally. I'd be using the Win 7 64 bit with service pack 1 integrated from Digital River.I want to know before I try this - will it work? Will it fix the errors without messing with the partitions? If so, perhaps after it's finished, I will then be able to use the One Key Recovery option if I need it. I have to verify this before I try it and mess something up that I can't recover from
I recently got a Lenovo V570 laptop. I was going to do a Clean Install of Win 7 to get the crapware off of the C: drive. I have ran across many threads about when doing a clean install the wifi doesn't work. I have searched for a lot of hours to find the solution and finally have found it but do not quite understand it. V570 - Win 7 Pro (non OEM) - Wireless not working - Lenovo Community Is the OP saying that he put his SSD with the Clean Install under the HDD in the boot order?
