I have been getting a BSOD when playing civ 5 and my computer will not create a minidump file! I followed all of the steps in the guide on how to make your computer create a minidump file. Is there any other way to get it to create one?

I know a decent amount about DOS/Batch files, but I don't know exactly how to crash a windows 7 computer using a batch file, because there was only one way I really wanted to do it, but with Windows 7 security fail safe, I can't take control and delete my "c:windowssystem32" folder. You're probably asking me why I would like to do this, and the reason is because it's a school project. My instructor would like us to crash one of this lab computers using a batch file, which all I can do is Right-click>Run As Administrator.
But I'm not here for that, all I'm curious about is some different, unique, cool ways to crash a Windows 7 computer. Batch file will be copied to the desktop and run as administrator.(No files other than the batch file may be copied to desktop) Additional files can be utilized either as a result of creation through the batch file, as a result of downloading from the Internet or files native to the lab workstations. Additional files are only to be utilized through the batch file Speakers are available on-demand Damage must be contained within the local machine.

AMong 2 monitors, I have 2x Acer X193w connected via DVI, another one is a X2gen connected via display port.
The X2gen monitor usually won't turn on when I wake the computer up, it make the "tip tip tip" clicks for minutes before eventually turned on.
It was fine until about 2 weeks ago, crashed 6 times so far.

When they cleaned it my computer will no longer boot up. Norton worked with me for three days on the problem but we were unable to fix the computer. I followed other web sites and repaired my MBR but it still will not boot up. I tried System Repair, Check point, Image, and Dell system restore and all failed. I have tried to use the Windows install CD and all I get is a black screen with a flashing cursor and then after 3 minutes the compute attempts to boot again and fails. I tried everything to try and wipe the drive from C prompt and it will not let me. I have very weak computer skills but I can follow directions and I have wiped a previous computer I owned. (I confirmed that my CD drive is working) I also should mention I have a second hard drive on my computer that I backed everything up to.

Ever since I did this I have not been able to open the specific file involved with the open-as-admin. View 5 Replies View RelatedHad a power failure during a recovery of an Acronis backup on my C: drive. It seems it happened while Acronis just started loading the backup files? When I restarted the Samsung Laptop local drive C: did not appear in Explorer. Only drive D: and my DVD drive E: appeared (C an D are partitions on the same hard disk). The recovery software was on a hidden partition but when trying to use the Samsung Recovery facility it say Drive C: not found.After trying out suggestions found on the internet I only managed to screw everything up resulting in also loosing the D: drive containing my Acronis backup. The laptop did not start at all. I at last managed to get it going after installing Windows 7 again and I then sit with only C System Disk, D System reserved and E: DVD drive at that point.Foolishly I shrinked the system disk C and created a data disk. That disk is now Data Disk F. and not D as original.The Acronis backup containing all my files and data was on the original Data Disk D:I have used various free software to try and find that specific file. But they all search by drive and the missing file must be somewhere on the disk either as lost or wrong drive letter or something.

I have tried windows debugging and every other option in the f8 menu, with no luck. These settings will always be the same. Purchased a website and email domain. I have a fresh install of MS office 2010 and when trying to incorporate my pop3 mail everything works fine, even the test emails, but I can not save profile because i get an error, "This information service is not installed on your computer", so it wont let me create a new data file. when I search for an existing .pst none are found on hard drive. so I'm kinda stuck. I tried the same basic thing via control panel > mail > data file tab > add data file, but i get the same error. "This information service is not installed on your computer." I took a look at my add/remove windows features pane to see if maybe on windows install I missed some email protocols or something but I could not find any. did the same for the office 2010 install, checked to see if I did not install a key feature. still nothing.Tried using IMAP as well since this does not require .pst access but still same error. "This information service is not installed on your computer."

Also, I need to figure out how to implement it so that when a user reboot and/or logoff from this computer, that it restore the vhd OS to its original state (read-only). Is that even possible?
Note: I'm already able to create a normal vhd from scratch or from an existing Windows 7 system. What I can't figure out is how to make it a read-only vhd file.

My internet has limitations and I cannot afford to download a 3 GB .iso or image file of windows 7 home basic. Incase my system gets corrupt or anything happens I would like to have a backup of my whole OS, so is their any way to extract the whole OS from my computer to just one ".iso" file? which later I can convert into a bootable USB flash drive of disc. Plus if possible can I make the iso file which contains my OS and also all the drivers pre installed?
