I just read from the help given on the Hotmail site that in early 2009 Hotmail will be introducing ever-growing storage with as much storage space as you need rather than the fixed 5gb it is currently.
The caveat is that if your inbox suddenly and abnormally skyrockets in size you might get an email from Microsoft asking that you curb your enthusiasm.
I wonder if theyre worried about gmails 7gb and rising allowance.
I am trying to increase my network connection limit greater than 20. I am backing up my servers to a windows7 storage machine and it constantly gives my a "no more connections available" error and then bombs out.
These are not the half-connections, but full established connections. Trying to find a way to do this without having to buy a full server version.

how to handle USB removable media inside camera. With camera there is no "Safely remove hardware and eject media" option. When Photo camera is connected, a new camera device is installed and GUI window is opened with option to browse or copy photos. But there is no removable storage devise eject button on notification area. The USB removable Storage devise is also present on File Manager Computer left panel but again, there is no mouse right button eject option as normally with removable storage devices. I have checked in on several computers. How to understand. I don't believe that it's camera specific but Camera is Canon S95.
understanding the 50 folder limitation of Windows 7 Libraries. Using Google, I found this:[URL]That post claims that there is a distinction between "parent" folders and "standard" folders (which can, perhaps, be called subfolders). So here are 2 sample Library structures:
Family Photos Library Old Family Photos folder [INDENT]Many subfolders* [INDENT][INDENT]Many files each subfolder* Current Family Photos folder
I got a stupid email from MS -- How's the RC going.
In it it says something about you can install on 3 separate computers.
Well I'm still using the BETA keys and haven't come up against any 3 Computer limit or activation problems with THOSE keys - and I've tested Windows 7 on SCORES of different hardware configurations.
Has anybody actually had a problem with the RC keys or is the email from MS totally BS.
I've set up a homegroup specifically to stream Bluray movies to my mum's computer, but my sister wants in on the action and connects to my computer to watch my collection of movies even when I tell her not to. I wouldn't mind but this consumes quite alot of bandwidth. Are there any ways to limit my sharing to just my mum? Or to kick and/or ban my sister's computer from my homegroup?
I'm running wampserver on a windows 7 machine. My problem is that when I try to download from the site my max download speed i 300kb/s. I used to run the server on windows xp and there was never any problems with bandwidth limit. So I moved back to the xp machine and the problem was gone. So is there a way to remove the bandwidth limit in windows 7?
How can I limit which applications user on win 7 could see? I have attached the screenshot as I would like user to see when he/she presses the start button. The screenshot I have attached is from win xp. Honestly I don't know how is this being done even on win xp.
so I've been using FF forever and it seems and I should know this, but haven't had any luck.Is there a way to set a max download, so lets say I'm downloading more than one file, instead of having them so all and once, put a limit of one download at a time.
i like many others have the problem of all thumbnails being spontaneously deleted every other day or so , and all the 250mb worth of thumbnails being slowly generated again only to be deleted..which is a major inconvenience since my processor is comparatively slow and videos take time for thumbnails to be generated.i found that the deny permission for the explorer folder where the thumbnails are stored does indeed work, however i noticed that while i have this workaround enabled, windows aero starts lagging (the scrolling of explorer pages, even firefox pages, and any graphical effects start occurring in short jerky steps) which i again hate. as soon as i removed those deny permissions (and the thumbnails spontaneously deleted) i haven't encountered that aero lag...so its not my graphics card or driver.i have currently disabled all thumbnail generation, folder browsing is behaving very fast but it just doesn't look good for pictures...for the videos its livable with.so any way i could limit thumbnail generation to pictures files only?
I have a folder with some deligate data. If, im administrator, how can I put limitation on that folder so that I can only delete one file at a time? And if I want to delete the entire folder so it will not allow me to delete it untill all files in that folder are deleted one at at a time?
The point is that i do not accidentaly delete this folder while files are in there and when I am inside the folder that I do not accidentaly delete all the files in the folder
I found an interesting article that I thought was worth sharing. I have always been bugged when reading that 32bit operating systems were limited to 4Gb of memory because of the way memory is addressed. It never made any sense to me because when I took Windows XP classes it had a nice little table covering different versions of Windows in the back which showed certain 32bit versions allowing up to 128Gb of memory to be recognized. The book was written for taking Microsoft exams to earn a certification in XP and I also had another book of the same type for Server 03 again with the same table in the back. So if Microsoft is saying that 32bit is not limited to 4Gb why are people trying to say that the limit is because 32bit is not capable of addressing it?Because the standard 32bit home desktop versions of Windows are not licensed to allow more than 4Gb. The only reason you are limited is because Microsoft wrote the OS to limit you not because 32bit cannot address memory above 4Gb.
How can I limit internet access for a user like 60 min in day or maybe 20 mb daily. In the Windows 7 parental control i can only limit full compiter access.
Want to limit the amount of HD space he can use, or my 1 TB is going to be filled 100% with videos, music, etc. in short order.
So I went to the C: drive/Properties/Quota and played around with it some, but haven't actually applied it.
For me at least, it's not totally clear what happens, so would like to ask the following, please:
a. When I first got the PC a few weeks ago, I set up myself as a User.
But did not apply any Passwords or sign-in requirements for either of us..
A week or so later, I added my son's name, also, as a User.
Since there are no passwords, sign in Passwords, etc., am I considered the defacto Administrator (as I was "first") ?
b. It is not clear that if I set up a limit on this Quota option screen(s), is it applied to both of us, or just him (if I am considered the Administrator) ?
I thought that there would be some kind of screen showing both Users, and what their limits are, but apparently not ?
c. Can this be done without any Passwords, sign in Passwords, etc ?
I have a windows 7 7068 on my main computer and an xp sp3 on my laptop. When I try to access a shared folder on my win 7 machines, from xp, I see only 134 files. When I try to see a folder shared on xp, from win 7 I can see more than 134 files, which means that win 7 must have some sort of limit to number of files in a folder a user over the network can see?
I wonder if there is any way I can limit my windows 7 home premium to some programs. I use my pc as a music studio computer and know very well what software I use ant what I dont care about, is there any way I can limit windows to that software, which I pick out? My aim is to optimise windows to highest performance in studio computing.
I have pinpointed the primary source of my graphics card's coil whine as high fps. In some applications such as crysis, I get upwards of 4000 fps in the intro screens, causing my graphics card to sound like its a dying rat. Obviously this is completely unnecessary...is there a program or feature of catalyst that allows me to limit the fps across all programs?
I'm looking for a powerful software that will limit my own computer usage, of course on an administrator account. For example let's say from now until one month later I limit computer usage for one hour a day, since I decide and confirm my decision to the software it will be impossible to change my mind under any circumstances, until the time limit has expired. I know how to fix computer time. But I cannot find this software!!!!!! ALL software's are made for parental control (don't word on administrator account or changed easily) but I could find no program to limit computer addiction!
