High Latency Issue Onboard Realtek Adapter
Oct 30, 2009
I received my copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. I skipped the Vista bandwagon, so I was moving directly from Windows XP Service Pack 3 (32-bit) to Windows 7 Home Premium. I opted to install the 64-bit version of Windows 7, as I had no issues when running the 64-bit beta.
As it turns out, I seem to have encountered an issue with my network adapter on Windows 7. Using any speed test site, such as speedtest.net, I get an extremely high ping (500ms +). I have tested another machine behind my router running Windows XP and there is no problem. Also, on the speed.io website, which tests connections per minute, I can only get around 200 on Windows 7, whereas I could get 2000+ on Windows XP with the same hardware.
Strangely, in games like Counter-Strike: Source, my ping is normal and in the 25-60 range on most nearby servers. Also, when running the ping command from the command prompt, most servers return a result lower than 100ms ... which is also normal. So, I don't understand why on speedtest.net, pingtest.net, and dslreport's flash speed test.. I get a ridiculous ping time of 500+ms. Web browsing does seem to be slow as well, as images take longer to load then they should.
I'm not sure whether this is a driver issue, or what. I have tried disabling both my firewall and AV software, so they are not at fault. I've tried 3 different version of the drivers for my NIC. One from the Gigabyte website, and two from Realtek's website (they released an updated version yesterday). My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R (rev 1.1). I have all of my system specs listed on my profile if anyone needs to know more.

Extremely low FPS - After 5-20 Mins of play.
Extremely High latency to servers - from 300 - 900 after 5 - 20 mins of play.
The thing is all of these started 1 year after I been using this laptop, after a full year of everything running flawlessly all these issues kicked in after I performed a clean install in Jan., I even performed one in Feb. and one 3 weeks ago
Here are my specs:

Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600
System Manufacturer Dell Inc.

After about 24 hours of booting my computer, I have seen my DPC Latency spike tremendously. At first, I thought this was an issue with my network card (since disabling it would drop DPC Latency), so I bought a new card. The problem didn't go away, so I realized it was something else. High DPC Latency is a problem since it causes audio and video lag.
As I troubleshooted the issue, I have realized the spikes were caused from network activity. For example, when I am seeding [not necessarily uploading] many torrents or am loading a website, it shoots up.
Does anyone know what may cause this and how I could prevent it?

ive been revieving some stutter noticibly when playing and form of video or audio and it has been getting worse as of late. Overall performance has dropped as well.Ive tried using Latency Checker and Latencymon and Realtek Ethernet Diagnostics Utility to try and diagnose the problem and the closest thing ive come to is that it has something to do with 'Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller' as when I disable it the stutter appears to vanish and latency readings drop however I need that to connect to the internet so keeping it removed is not really an option.I have tried using a variety of drivers and methods from this forum and others and none have come to be of any use as of yet. i'm using the onboard sound card for my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0 mobo. The sound chipset is Realtek ALC889. I've updated the latest drivers, but there is crackling/static noise when I play music.Currently I mainly use a 2.1 speaker system. But Ive tried testing it with headphones the static/crackling noises persists. It is not constant, but it shows up periodically. Furthermore, when there is no music/sound playing the noise is not there. This leads me to believe its a hardware/driver issue and not so much a speaker/interference issue.

I was searchn on the net for Dell Inspiron 1501 help.
Subject of help needed: Dell Inspiron 1501 onboard wifi card not working with Windows 7 Ultimate and NEED help getting a working driver.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 currently using XP w/SP3 as I'm typing now.
I have made a Acronis backup image of my Dell 1501 laptop so I can quickly within 30 min.s pop back my Windows 7 Ultimate back on when I can either find and get a Dell Inspiron 1501 onboard wifi driver that works OR buy a 100% sure Windows 7 USB wireless adapter with driver.
I have freshly formatted hd and fresh full install of Windows 7 Ultimate and seems to load and work great BUT.....
I went to Dell support / Driver download website page and I entered in our Dell Service Tag number and in the drag box, they are NO Windows 7. So, I'm guessing they do not support and offer a Windows 7 driver for my onboard wifi card?
I currently have stinky dialup internet and live in a rurual country area but sometimes go up in town to visit a spot that has cable wifi connection. My onboard wifi card with XP works great.. I have installed Vista and the drive for my onboard wifi card works fine.
I went in to town to connection to cable with wireless router high speed connection to get Windows 7 updates but this onboard wifi card seems to recieve and reports wifi signals fine but trying to get it to connect and go is another. I have tried many many different wifi signals and areas and this onboard wifi card with Windows 7 does not want to work. I'm guessing it needs a Windows 7 driver. Do you think its not working cause of the driver too?
I need help finding out if they are anyone else with a Dell Inspiron 1501 have Windows 7 and have they found a Windows 7 driver work?
If I wanted to buy a 100% sure best range hottest USB wireless adapter coming with Windows 7 driver, what Name and Model would you recommend?

Previously I had Realtek HD Manager installed, but under the direction of another, I uninstalled it, as it wasn't detecting any devices plugged into it.I am still having the same problem, and when I attempt to install Realtek again, it comes with either: Or this, and it will repeatedly come up no matter how many times I allow it, until it eventually just closes itself. This is for any of the drivers available on the website, the first one being RC266 Vistax64, the second one being AC97.Previously, instead of "High Defintion Audio Device", it was shown "Realtek High Definition ect ect."It used to show "Digital Output" being the only one plugged in, and on the HD Audio Manager, nothing else was detected. My system is not muted I have tried to update the driver from both Realteks and MSIs web pages - no luck. I have tried to connect my headphones in both rear and front - no luck. When I play audio - I do see green bars in under the playback tab under sound devices. I do have the Realtek HD Audio Manager I have noticed that when I mark "Disable front panel jack detection" in the Realtek HD audio manager, the headphones appears to be connected in the playback tab, when I uncheck it, the headphones seems to be disconnected in the playback tab.

I've upgraded from vista to 7 and I am getting no sound, I've searched, searched and tried alot of different things, I see alot of people on this forum with the same issues, but I've tried most of them. I've installed and unistalled all the different drivers from realtek, but no luck. I have realtek high definition sound but no hdmi output. In my device manager it says the sound driver is installed properly, but when I tried to test the sound it fails to test tone, I don't know if it has to deal with an audio codec. I have regular speaker that connect to a sound jack. At this point I am quite desperate. I've spent all night trying to figure this out.

Am running Windows 7 Pro on a Gigabyte GA-EG45M-UD2H motherboard with integrated Realtek RTL8111DL gigabit ethernet adapter.
Occasionally after walking from sleep I will not that the netork icon in the tray has a red cross through it with no internet access. Going into display manager shows no Network Adapter as if it just disappeared.
Rebooting restores the missing adapter and internet access.
Just wondering if there is a fix for this behavior? Note that it doesn't always do this after waking from sleep - only occasionally.

I need a new AC power adapter for my monitors. I have three Acer S243HL LED monitors, and the power adapters basically exploded a few months ago (I heard a loud pop, followed by the monitor just turned off). I tested it with a working power adapter (the one I'm using now for my only functional monitor), and the monitor itself is fine. The power adapter is not. Anyways, to prevent this happening in the future, could someone recommend to me a high quality power adapter which won't short out on me?

Has someone faced the problem of the RealTek Network Adapter/Controller not being found. Yesterday morning my Internet connection went off and when I tried to repair it I got the following message: The RealTek Network Adapter/Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode enabled Please Plug the Cable i searched the Net on my other Computer and found chapter and verse on this problem but none of the suggested cures worked and the Net remained off the whole day. Finally in the night in disgust I shut down the errant computer, unplugged all the cables attached to it, and went to sleep. This morning I attached all the cables and restarted the computer and everything was back to normal again. After scouting the Net the only change that I have made is to uncheck the "Allow this Computer to turn off this device to save Power" Box.

Starting about a month ago, after six to seven months of my laptop working fine, I've been getting video and audio stuttering whenever gaming or watching most HD videos and after messing around with my drivers I realized that whenever my Realtek HD Audio drivers are disabled my video runs flawlessly, but when enabled both video and audio stutter. I'm using a Sony VAIO laptop so I'm assuming that the sound card isn't easily replaceable. I've tried using the newest drivers straight from Realtek's website and also the outdated driver provided by Sony's website, both of which result in the same stuttering. Sony has also replaced the motherboard once and it did not resolve the issue.I'm currently running Windows 7 with 6gb of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 330M graphics card.
