View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm out of ideas. Tried several different drivers, and settings. Using a fresh install of Windows 7 RC. The drivers all seem to "work", by which I mean Windows 7 has no problem with them, but no driver I've tried will let the card actually talk with anything. It keeps trying to find a DHCP address and always comes up with a 169 address. Even when I specify a static IP it still won't see anything on the network.
DHCP is working for my on board NIC, and this card works in my XP installation on this same PC.
The driver that seems to "work" the best so far is this: Download HP Intel PRO/1000 Gigabit Driver 13.5.00 Rev.C for Vista64 Driver for Windows Vista64 - Softpedia
With that driver I actually get all of the nifty features in the driver properties page, and I've run all of it's diagnostic tests which all come up green.
Also worth nothing: I had this same problem with Windows 7 Beta.
Am running Windows 7 Pro on a Gigabyte GA-EG45M-UD2H motherboard with integrated Realtek RTL8111DL gigabit ethernet adapter.
Occasionally after walking from sleep I will not that the netork icon in the tray has a red cross through it with no internet access. Going into display manager shows no Network Adapter as if it just disappeared.
Rebooting restores the missing adapter and internet access.
Just wondering if there is a fix for this behavior? Note that it doesn't always do this after waking from sleep - only occasionally.
I noticed that my drivers for this nic card are out of date somewhat. 2009 version. However thats not my problem thats immediately effecting my computer. Delayed or halted shutdown. runnin win7 64 bit raid 5 just installed Kasp pure 2.0 however i dont think thats the problem as i had pure 1.0 before this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just updated from Vista Ultimate 64 to Windows 7, Surprise it went very well except so far for sound. It did tell me that it would be a problem. So far WinTV 1600 is only program not working but I just started. Office 2007 took the upgrade. I was not able to get a performance rating, computer locked up I had to hard reset. All my files are intact, This is from Windows 7 to the Windows 7 forums pretty cool.

View 9 Replies View Relatedrealtek has just released new drivers for their ethernet products.
i had the ugly "ethernet-connection-drop" -problem all the time with my Windows 7-builds, even with the rtm.
now i installed the new driver today and until now all runs fine without errors.
i didnt even touch the default configuration of the ethernet card!
i am very happy with that, because the random drop of the ethernet connection is a great showstopper for my work with my machine!
The realtek ethernet controller was not found. If deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable.I saw a lot of people having the same problem but there is one problem. I have windows xp while the others had windows 7. I've just formatted my computer and i want to install the drivers. And when i'm trying to install the ethernet drivers it appears this message.

I have an Asus Striker Extreme motherboard. Since I have a PS3 but access to only one ethernet port, I've bridged my two motherboard ethernet adapters and plugged my PS3 into my computer so they can share the connection.I'd like to know if it's at all possible to configure Windows somehow to prevent it from going to sleep while there's any activity over the network bridge. Obviously I prefer to keep Windows' power saver scheme intact or I'd just disable sleeping entirely. However I don't want to have to reach over to the computer and bumping the mouse every ten minutes as I'm playing to prevent it from sleeping and cutting off my PS3's network connection.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI currently own a Retina Macbook Pro, which as you probably know, does not have an ethernet port. Unfortunately, my college dorms only have ethernet, so I bought a USB-ethernet adapter. While the adapter works fine in OSX, it is completely non-functional when I run Windows 7 via Bootcamp. Can anybody explain to me how to get it to work?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI did a fresh Windows 7 64 bit installation and everything was going fine (besides the BSOD problems about the graphics card which I fixed by renaming nvlddmkm.sys which was the cause of the BSOD) until I tried installing the Ethernet drivers.
Specs:
Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 6000+ CPU
4GB 800 DDR2 Memory
585 Watt Power supply
XFX 8800 GTS GPU
2 Seagate Hard drives : 250 GB & 160GB
Windows doesn't even detect the adapter even though its onboard. I've tried installing the drivers from the original dvd (and in compatible and as administrator) with no luck. I also tried downloading the latest lan drivers from [URL] but it still didn't work. I got a deep sleep error or something. (Which I couldn't resolve cause there's nothing in network connections, not even the 1394 connection which is also turned on in the bios)
No it does not show in device manager under Network adapters. Actually there isn't even a network adapter subcategory unless I click show hidden devices(which has multiple devices then but no network controller). The only driver with a question mark is the graphics card driver which I will try to install after I get the Ethernet adapter working. Microsoft did say its 64 bit compatible [URL] so I don't know what to do. I did check the settings in the bios to see if everything with network was enabled and whatnot.. I also tried resetting everything in the bios to default settings with no luck.
Out of desperation tried adding the device manually through device manager (action>add Legacy hardware>manually>network adapters>have disk..) I tried this with the latest drivers I got from gigabytes website but it didn't even show a device, so I tried the original drivers from the mobo dvd which gave 3 devices.. I tried them all.. each time reinstalling the latest drivers and whatnot to no avail. I'm Thinking of trying to use the windows 64 bit repair disk seeing as it might be software related seeing as it doesn't even show the firewire adapter.
i have windows 7 rc1 64 bit. i have a realtek 8187 wireless adapter. the drivers that have been posted havent worked for me. it said that the 32 bit driver was not made for a different platform
View 1 Replies View RelatedHas someone faced the problem of the RealTek Network Adapter/Controller not being found. Yesterday morning my Internet connection went off and when I tried to repair it I got the following message: The RealTek Network Adapter/Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode enabled Please Plug the Cable i searched the Net on my other Computer and found chapter and verse on this problem but none of the suggested cures worked and the Net remained off the whole day. Finally in the night in disgust I shut down the errant computer, unplugged all the cables attached to it, and went to sleep. This morning I attached all the cables and restarted the computer and everything was back to normal again. After scouting the Net the only change that I have made is to uncheck the "Allow this Computer to turn off this device to save Power" Box.
View 6 Replies View RelatedToday when I started up my computer it blue screened about three times at the log in screen. After the third or so time I booted my computer with the last known good configuration. At first it seemed to work; everything seemed to boot as ormal. However, I noticed that I could not connect to the internet. I went into the Device Manger and noticed a problem with my Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection. Under device status it states "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)" I have updated and reinstalled the drivers twice now to no avail. I do not know what the problem is.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI received my copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. I skipped the Vista bandwagon, so I was moving directly from Windows XP Service Pack 3 (32-bit) to Windows 7 Home Premium. I opted to install the 64-bit version of Windows 7, as I had no issues when running the 64-bit beta.
As it turns out, I seem to have encountered an issue with my network adapter on Windows 7. Using any speed test site, such as speedtest.net, I get an extremely high ping (500ms +). I have tested another machine behind my router running Windows XP and there is no problem. Also, on the speed.io website, which tests connections per minute, I can only get around 200 on Windows 7, whereas I could get 2000+ on Windows XP with the same hardware.
Strangely, in games like Counter-Strike: Source, my ping is normal and in the 25-60 range on most nearby servers. Also, when running the ping command from the command prompt, most servers return a result lower than 100ms ... which is also normal. So, I don't understand why on speedtest.net, pingtest.net, and dslreport's flash speed test.. I get a ridiculous ping time of 500+ms. Web browsing does seem to be slow as well, as images take longer to load then they should.
I'm not sure whether this is a driver issue, or what. I have tried disabling both my firewall and AV software, so they are not at fault. I've tried 3 different version of the drivers for my NIC. One from the Gigabyte website, and two from Realtek's website (they released an updated version yesterday). My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R (rev 1.1). I have all of my system specs listed on my profile if anyone needs to know more.
I have a Acer Aspire 5920G with a spoilt ethernet port. I find wireless too unstable ... so I want to use ethernet. I cant find a USB Ethernet Adapter in most hardwarestores in my country but I found Apple USB Ethernet Adapter but will it work on a Non Mac?
