View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 64 bit system on my main drive and a 32 bit system on my secondary hard drive. When I start my computer it asks me which operation system I want to start windows in and I choose 64 bit. My hard drive with the 32 bit system is corrupted and I haven't used it in months so I want to remove it from asking me which system to run. I want the 64 system to automatically start without me needing to choose it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a number of systems with various flavors of Windows 7 installed - x64, x86, Home Premium, Ultimate, and so on. Some were factory installs, some were installed by me at various times.Although I manually configured an IPv6 address on each system, they all exhibit the problem of using an automatically-generated IPv6 address instead of the one I have configured. This makes it difficult to connect to servers which use IP addresses for access control, as the automatically-generated addresses change on reboot.[code] one which I have hard-coded, an auto-generated one marked "preferred" and another auto-generated one which is not marked "preferred". When I try to access another IPv6 host on the same LAN, the connection comes from the 2430:1432:1:2:60ee:fe68:8697:cf8a address.I've searched for a way to force Windows to use the IPv6 address I configured and I haven't found anything that worked.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought a Asus U36J laptop back in April of last year and ever since then I have been beating around an issue that I dont seem to be able to resolve one way or the other. When ever the laptop is on battery and in battery saving mode it has my taskbar on autohide. If I turn that off, then it stays off right until it is put back into battery saving mode at which point it is "magically" ticked on again.
Is there no way to simply disable that feature, as its annoying me greatly. I know its tied into the battery saving desktop, and I want to keep the battery saving desktop but want a full taskbar all the time. I found a supposed fix to make that happen, and while it actually makes the taskbar appear all the time, it still is a bad hack as any windows I have open wont "attach" to the taskbar but attaches to the buttom of the screen.
So for the love of god is there no sane way for me to keep the battery saving desktop but get rid of the autohiding taskbar. Otherwise I know Asus most likely wont be my laptop of choice next time aroumd.

View 8 Replies View Related7 Years ago I built an inexpensive AMD Socket 939 system with 1 Gigabyte of memory for my sister-in-law. It had an old version of Windows. Everything was fine until a few days ago. My sister-in-law's son decided to install Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit. hat's when the trouble started. Widows starts to load and then stops when the logo appears. No BSOD and no error messages. It just stops loading. Initial boot up is fine and I can access the System BIOS. The settings are good. I went to the official Microsoft Windows web site and checked memory requirements for Windows 7. According to the web site 1 Gigabyte of RAM is suficient for 32-bit and 2 Gigabytes of RAM is sufficient for 64-bit: [URL] quirements Is 2GB really sufficient for 64 bit or should I bump it up to 4GB?
