Going Direct To Hotmail From Desktop?

I recently created shortcut desktop 'sign-in' links on my two laptops to take me straight to the place where I enter my email address and password so I can look at my mail. That's fine, but somehow on the older machine I managed to create s shortcut straight to my actual hotmail inbox, meaning I did not have to go through the signing in process. I would like to do that on my other machine as it saves a few seconds and I am on and off email all day. If it sktop link which takes me direct to my account is the miscrosoft windows logo, whereas the one on my other laptop which takes me to the signing in station has a little orange envelope and 'hotmail sign in' on it.

I'm the only user and don't need to prevent access by anyone else. I've figured out how to bypass the password login (auto logon), but when waking from sleep or booting I still go to a sad screen showing my user icon and saying locked, which I have to click on to open the desktop. Is there a way to go direct to the desktop?

I downloaded the direct X, but DX diag shows me that there's no acceleration, so most of my games can't be played, I downloaded a file called INF_allOS_9.3.0.1026_PV, but it doesn't want to install.

I am currently not having any issues with XP and everything is working fine for what I use this computer for. That being said and considering my set up is an upgrade to Windows 7 worth it? Is Windows 7 really that big of an improvement over XP? The only thing that is even making me consider an upgrade to Windows 7 is for the chance to use DirectX 11.However, I've read that some older setups are having a hard time getting Windows 7 to work correctly because many of the necessary drivers needed for the computer to operate correctly are no longer supported. I know for a fact the last updates that were released for my BIOS and my motherboard chipset were in 2006. Will they even work in Windows 7?

I am trying to download the ISO files of win 7 ultimate ect without having to use torrent.I have found this site listing them all with direct download links..Is this a trust worthy site? and how do I verify that they havent been modified compared to ones at msdn?(by the way, I'm not trying to download them for illegal reasons, Its because I no longer have the CD's but do have legit product keys

In the past week i have had problem staying connected through WLM. When i first boot up computer and log into WLM Ver:14.0.8117.416 it tells me if i have any emails and i go to the inbox and check them. After about 1/2 mins windows Live Messenger signd itself out. If i go to sign in the sign in window pops up and i enter detais but the WLM icon on the taskbar says i am logged in but then if i click on inbox a window opens but it wont connect to hotmail its just a blank IE page. The only way i have kept logged in is when i first log on i open hotmail and then i have to keep that webpage open all the time if not WLM logs off. A few days before this happened i lost connection to my Sky broadband for 2/3 hours and i rebooted the router and all was good. I have done Spybot, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and Microsoft Security and they all came back ok.

I have installed RocketDock on my computer and I want use animated icons to launch just about everything I need to do. They require a direct path. I can't create a "sound" shortcut and then change it to an animated icon, as far as I know.The path for control panel is: C:Windowssystem32control.exeI'm looking for the path for the "sound" menu (playback tab, specifically).

Why doesn't the logon screen show me my account with the password input field already availible? It used to, because I only have one account on my laptop and so whenever I turned it on or when it woke up from sleep, the account was already selected so I could just entered my password. Now the Switch users button has appeared and I have to first click on the account so I can then input the password. I found the solution to disable then Switch users butto, but the account still must be clicked first, as if there were more accounts on the laptop.

I've been playing PC games on my new laptop for a few months now, all of which can run on Direct X 11. Two games, Saints Row the Third and Civilizations V I run using Direct X 9 mode, which helps me keep my laptop temperature down.Recently, however, I have bought and downloaded a few games via Steam that are older, that only use Direct X 9.0c. When I run any of these games for the first time, Steam will start "installing Direct X...". After that, all of my games run with very noticeable lag. I will lose FPS (going from 70+ to about 20-) every 20 seconds or so. If I perform a system restore to the moment before Steam installed the Direct X, everything starts running fine again.This has rendered half of my games on Steam unplayable because they all need to install Direct X before playing. I've had a problem staring up diablo 2. When I do I get a error 22 (direct draw failed to initialize). I've tried this in every compatibility mode and with all other compatibility settings such as 256 colour mode. Windows XP mode gives the same errorDiablo's video tester informs me that no compatible video modes are available (directdraw, direct3d and 3dfxglide).

I used to play Runaway in Vista but it did'nt open and it keeps me saying that "Error Starting DirectDraw" , but works fine in XP. Now if I play it in Windows 7 could it play. (I think it won't because Vista & 7 kernel is same. )
