View 0 Replies View RelatedI finally pulled the trigger and installed Windows 7 on my main machine Friday. I had it on my development/test machine since RTM and RC before that. But now I live with it and I LOVE it.
I love the new taskbar, but there is one thing I am miss... I use GMail and I loved how in the task bar I could see the number of new emails I had with a quick glance. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know that GMail has an app you can install that runs in the status bar, but I don't want to be bugged when it comes in, I just want to be able to see the # when I want to look that direction.
As the title says, i want to do a clean install of windows 7 ultimate. But i'm planning on installing it on my D drive instead of my C drive. The reason is my C drive only has 39GB size and my D drive has 102GB size.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis question is exactly what I am looking for, I think, but I do not understand the answer.I can give two examples of times when I should be able to send an email from a program but instead get an error message that no email program is associated and I should create an association through Default Programs. One example is in the program Living Cookbook from Radison Technologies. I should be able to email a recipe to a friend right from the application.Another example is the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) website. Committee members don't have email addresses that I can see and copy; instead, they have live links showing only the person's name, which I am supposed to click on to bring up and email already addressed and ready to compose. For me, it only brings up the no email association message.I understand a little about file associations and know, when installing a program, to watch out for them......... however, I cannot figure out to use the Default Programs to make the required
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just installed a new hard drive and a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on it, and I just received two BSODs within minutes of each other, citing ntoskrnl.exe withSYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION on BlueScreenView. I had periodical blue screens before my last HDD died so it's most likely something else causing it, maybe hardware... but not sure how to tell what. I've attached the necessary files.- the original installed OS on the system? Yes- Full retail version- What is the age of system (hardware)? About 5 years- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Two days
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need some direction (or reassurance) about setting up a new Win 7 system using an older Win 7 user folder.I had Win 7 Ultimate on an HP with the user folders on a separate internal drive. The HP died; the drive with the user folders is intact.his user folder has almost 400 GB of data that we need to keep as is. (My wife's a video producer with several projects in work.)I bought a new Lenovo with Win 7 Home Premium. I set up user accounts (on the system drive) and then added the drive with the HP user accounts. I made the necessary registry changes to access the added drive for user folders. Upon booting, I checked the properties of my user folder on the drive I added and it reported 0 bytes!! I didn't want to risk losing that data so I shut it down. My original user folder still has everything I want and need.
I know the user folder has data for my applications. Is there data in the user folder specific for the computer I'm on? If so, what do I merge from the Lenovo user folder with my big user folder? If not, was the "0 byte report" a fluke? Also, would I be better off installing all my applications before incorporating this big user folder? I have not yet installed the Adobe software that will be using most of the data in the user folder.
Built a "super computer" with all the bells and whistles, did raid0 array OK installed Windows 7 ultimate on ssd 120GB drive.went to drive management found raid array, partitionnedit as 1 18TB drive without problem BUT when i tried to format it (quick since i suspect it may take days) and iwin sais failled to format drive.i will try to make a Loooong format and see what happens.

All incoming mail is fine. Outgoing mail fails whether its a "reply" or a newly-created message of any length, regardless of attachments or not. they land in the outbox, cannot send.tried turning off the AV... no effect.is there a firewall setting in Windows 7 Pro that could be affecting outgoing?is it possible that we could limp along by changing the outgoing server to a centurytel server? that has some admin ramifications I realize, but might it work?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm fairly new to Win7 Home Premium64. When I try to create a screen shot, I use "print screen" , then open "Paint" and select "paste". The desired image appears but from that point on I can't copy and paste into gmail. I would like to send the screen shot via email using my Gmail Application.
The message I'm getting is: "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action and that I need to "create an association in the default program control panel".
I have no idea about how to create that association in the default control panel. As far as I can see, the image that has been pasted in "Paint" is a PNG file. I have looked through all of the settings in gmail but can't find any place to "create that association".
How do I remove imap.gmail.com from my Windows Live Mail 2011 account? I had configured my windows email with gmail, and I no longer want to do that. I can't seem to find a way to keep gmail from checking my mail through my Windows Live Mail account. I'm afraid if I delete my gmail account I would no longer have access to my Windows Live Mail account. I have gone to settings in gmail and disabled imap. When I did this, I no longer was able to send or receive mail in Windows Live Mail, so I had to go back and enable imap in gmail.
