Getting A "No Buffer Space Available" Error At Random?
Mar 25, 2012
I have a seemingly random problem that will keep me from connecting to the 'net. After a period of time, haven't seen any specific amount of time, just after a while, I can't make new connections to the 'net, old connections aren't effected. My email program reports "No Buffer Space Available" and Minecraft reports
Failed to update news<br>java.net.SocketException: No buffer space available (maximum connections reached?): connect
I only have Skype and Chrome running at all times. Did a scan with AVG and no viruses, did a scan with Malware Bytes and nothing found with that except a couple of cookies, so I am not entirely sure what is causing this issue. It's annoying as the only fix I've found for it is to reboot the computer, which means saving everything I'm doing in Chrome, book mark pages I plan on returning to later, etc so I can reboot. Never had this issue in Windows XP neither, not until I updated to Windows 7 did I start getting this error. Would have posted sooner but I couldn't get a specific error message until Minecraft spat out that one last night.

I reformatted my computer multiple times, yet my computer seems to BSOD randomly. What happenes is that everything becomes unresponsive; cant alt+tab, cant ctrl+alt+del etc etc. everything freezes randomly... then boom, BSOD. its happened twice, with no apparent pattern. And then, when it restarts, it tries booting but then it goes into the boot selection screen and my SSD is nowhere to be found. I have to power off then power on again for it to boot up and log in.

When playing games via steam I occasionally get a crash followed by the error message.
failed to lock vertex buffer in cmesh dx8
According to the FAQ on steam this is caused by a lack of paged pool memory which is reserved for apps like direct3d.
To get round this issue its recommended that you remove a line form the boot.ini which unlocks the page pool memory. The line is /3GB /Userva=2900
Does anyone know where this line is in windows 7 or how I can unlock the paged pool memory as I'm finding the crashes are starting to interfere with my enjoyment of gaming.

The backup tool is complaining about not having enough space for a backup but it wants 18GB and I have over 88GB on my backup target drive.
Anyone else seen this?
I did see in another forum that it was related to a system restore backup. If that's the case, does anyone know how I can determine how much space everything will take? Seems strange that it's not telling me the entire space requirement. (If that is the case with the restore image)

I have been messing around with Ubuntu and other OS's and after I installed Ubuntu on a 5gb partition, I realized that is way too small, so I went into Windows, opened up Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) and just deleted the volume. Well now I have a green partition and when I try to delete the partition, I get the error "There is not enough space available on the disk(s) to complete this operation" I am doing this all on my internal hard dive in my laptop.

Windows 7; x64
4gb RAM

This hidden partition was created when I installed and now I have only 38Mb free out of 100Mb. As I understand this has been an Issue for more than a year, and still Microsoft has not resolved?

I'm belatedly trying to create my first system recovery backup, on a system which I first installed Windows back in November 2011.I have a 1TB drive with a 214GB partition that I set up for a backup. I manually store all my media and pictures to both a separate partition on the drive, in the cloud, and on a separate external HDD, so all I really want to back up is the system image. This is the newbie sounding question to confirm my suspicions: The system drive I'm trying to back up is definitely bigger than the partition I've set aside for recovery. My C drive is a 473GB partition, and I'm using maybe a bit more than half of that currently. If this is the case, is there a way to reallocate un-used disk space from my other partitions to make the recovery partition larger, or should I be biting the bullet and shelling out for a 500GB external to cover my system recovery needs?

So, I just got a new PC recently from Velocity Micro,
Core i7 2.8 GHz overclocked to 3.3 GHz
8 gigs of ram
500 gig HD
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
So the first few days I was receiving blue screens, with the heading
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
I went into the startup options and i believe it was Quickstep that I turned on, haven't experienced the BSOD since then.
Recently, certain games (Champions Online and Lord of The Rings Online) have been causing my computer to randomly reboot.
I can't really run programs like Prime95 or Memtest, because with the overclocked system they always find errors.
I want to know if I should be worried about this and what I should do. Velocity Micro tech support has yet to respond and I fear they may just have me send the damn thing back for repairs (2 weeks without a computer). Any suggestions on this topic would be extremely helpful. I am not terribly familiar with hardware. More software. Please if you do want to have me try something concerning bios or voltage, explain it to me because I will most likely not have done it before.

Looks like it is a internet explorer file but I am not running Windows Explorer and took it off my computer a month or so ago. This is VEXING to say the least. If it is missing one would think you could just download the replacement but no notes about where to get one so I am stuck with this problem and no solution?

I've been getting this for over 3-4 months now.. and I have done a system restore twice and it's not helping.. the BSOD still lives. The BSOD occurs in a random fashion, even during browsing the internet with just a few tabs, sometimes during idle (happened a few times when I leave home and left my laptop idle)I notice that every time the BSOD is about to appear, my laptop fan goes all noisy. Not sure if that actually has anything to do with it.I've even tried running on Ubuntu and got crashes too.. although with no description.. it just froze. Also when I tried to run perfmon /report, I get an error when trying to generate a report saying:"An error occured while attempting to generate the report. The wait for the report generation tool to finish has timed out. "
specs are:
ASUS G53 Sw 3D:
Intel Core i7 2630QM 2.0 Ghz (upto 2.9ghz Turbo Boost), 6MB L3 Cache
Win 7 Home Premium 64bit
8GB DDR3 Ram
NVIDIA GTX 460M 1.5GB

This PC has been experiencing random BSODs for a couple of months now. I've taken this machine to a repair place, but they were unable to recreate the BSOD, but also apparently couldn't review dump files or do any other analysis of the crashes, so my faith is greatly diminished.
Anyway, I've recently done a fresh install of windows, replaced the RAM (currently at 8gb), and updated the ASACPI.sys driver from the 2005 version to the 2009 version. At this point, I have no idea what to do next. I think there is a bios setting throwing everything out of whack, but I honestly don't know enough about bios to feel comfortable poking around in there.
System basics:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Custom built system with Windows 7 being the only OS ever installed on the system. Full retail version.
The system is about 1 year old and I reinstalled Windows last week (Monday, 11/21 ). No blue screens until the 26th. There've been 5 so far.
Attached is the BSOD file and the perfmon.html report as requested.

I've recently built a new PC of which I've had to replace the motherboard already due to it being faulty. Since installing the new motherboard, re-installing all components and re-installing Win 7 on my SSD, I've been getting random BSOD's 1-2 times per day, bug check code 1e. My computer will not go in to sleep mode either without a BSOD - albeit a different bug check code: 0a. I had no such problems on my old board leading me to believe it is a motherboard issue, albeit I'm trying to verify this in order to be able to RMA it if needed.
PC Specs: All running at stock settings
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Intel i7 2600k 3.4Ghz (1155)
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 (F10)
Corsair Sport 4x4GB (16GB) DDR3 RAM
ZOTAC nVidia GeForce 560 GTX
On board sound
OS hard drive: Crucial M4 256GB
2nd, 3rd drives: WD 500GB WD5000AAKS-00YGA0
4th drive: SAMSUNG HD204UI 2TB
The BSOD just happens randomly for no apparent reason. There is nothing in event viewer indicating what the problem could be.

For the past two months or so my PC has been randomly restarting with no noticeThis can happen when I'm playing a game, working on a word doc in OpenOffice, or browsing the web using Firefox or Chrome. It displays no error message besides the "Windows did not shut down properly" upon restarting. It seems to happen at least once a day. Sometimes it happens shortly after the computer starts up. Other times it happens hours later.- the original installed OS on the system? - Yep- an OEM or full retail version? - Full Retail- What is the age of system ()? - Roughly 14 months- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) - Roughly 14 months

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on an HP desktop purchased in January 2010 from a retail store. The OS came pre-installed on the machine and I have never re-installed it.I had been getting a BSOD maybe once a month for about a year. Now I've been getting a BSOD maybe once a week. They occur at random times, so I can't point to one activity that is causing them.Blue Screen View says the most recent 0x00000116 error was caused by dxgkrnl.sys. I recently updated the driver for my ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series card. It seems like every time I've had a BSOD, it's had something to do with my graphics card, but I'm not tech savvy enough to be able figure out if that's the case.I should point out that I just updated DirectX 9.0 and ran the OCCT GPU stress test and got no errors. I also ran the Memtest86 overnight for seven passes and got no errors

I have been getting random BSOD's while I am away from my computer, never while it is in use. They have been occurring about twice a month but I have had two in the past 24 hrs.
I was using old IDE drivers and I should switch to AHCI but I am not sure if that is the problem and I believe I would have to reinstall windows in order to make the switch.
Here are the two most recent reports from Event Viewer. Details are in the attachment.
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000f4 (0x0000000000000003, 0xfffffa801109a730, 0xfffffa801109aa10, 0xfffff8000358b510). A dump was saved in: C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 072512-50497-01.

I am encountering a random crash during computer use. I can not seem to correlate this with a specific action or process, i.e. it happens at different times doing different things. Below I am including three of the BSOD error messages. I have tried changing out RAM and have made sure that my temperatures are good in the case. I ran memtest for 4 hours with no errors, also prime95 did not produce and crash.

Ive recently built my own computer, however at random times when im on it, it will blue screen with a 0x0000004e error. I have Windows 7 professional 64 bit and ive also attached all the information including a few dumps from the times it has crashed. It has happened before a few times but i reinstalled the os so the dumps went with it. I will add more dumps each time it does blue screen. Also I downloaded BlueScreenViewer and it came back with a majority of the problems coming from a driver called "ntoskrnl". I have ran memtest for about 8 hours (With about 8 passes) and came back with no errors so i do believe it is a driver problem other than that, I have no clue what the problemI went on to run OCCT for 30 minutes, whilst it was testing it stopped and said there was an error in core 1. I then ran it again and it stopped again saying that there was an error in core 0. I have uploaded the graphs from both of these test for analysis. The minimum temperature ranged from about 26 - 29 degrees (Idle) and the maximum was ranged from 64 - 70 degrees.
