I am trying to boot from the DVD, with the Autounattend.xml file on a USB drive (Mushkin 8GB, light blinks when accessed, so I know it is being read from). I have also tried using the file name Unattend.xml per other suggestions. My Autounattend.xml file does not get recognized. No errors are shown, but I explicitly set the locale, language, etc., to US English (en-Us), but I am still prompted by the Windows 7 DVD to select these settings.

It seems to happen when installing drivers, or running prime95. Booting into safe mode allows me to pretty much do anything.
When crashing, it does a slow crash, where I can move the mouse around, but the startbar and any other programs dont respond. Explorer then crashes, followed shortly by a bluescreen.
Just inherited a pc, and bought a brand new 1tb hdd yesterday to install windows on. I was foolish at first by not changing any of the bios settings (was a long time since I have done an install) and just left it as it was. I got through to installing windows and it stopped at expanding files with the above error code, which I have heard is really commonWindows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required or installation are available, and restart the installation. Now I am certain there is nothing wrong with the DVD, as it is the same one that has been used on two other PC's. I tried turning it off and restarting, that was when I got another error load up - Bootmgr is missing! After this I restarted it and changed the bios settings to boot from the DVD drive. I tried doing a repair on this through the disc.
Went through all the settings and typed Bootrec.exe/REBUILDBCD in command prompt but that came back fine. I tried clicking startup repair after this but it did not restart, so I just went through the motions and restarted it manually as by this point I was getting frustrated. Upon restart I went through and booted from the DVD, and it went straight through. This time I tried re-installing but deleted all the partitions on the drive which had appeared since trying to install. However the same error message has come up again

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently wiped my main HDD to perform a clean install of windows however after choosing to do the advanced install windows alerts me that drivers for the HDD's are missing. When I go to load my drivers from my USB the setup gives me an error that it cannot find the driver files from the USB in the folder I stored them in however it detects the 32 bit versions I have saved. I proceed with those, choose the 64 bit OS and proceed with the installation however this just throws my comp into a boot loop when it reaches the restart part of the install most likely from the computer having the 32 bit drivers. The next time I try to install i proceed by loading the 32 bit drivers and then when told to choose the HDD to install the OS I click the load drivers button, this time it detects the 64 bit drivers however will not let me install them as they are not digitally signed. I have a feeling setting my HDDs to AHCI in my boot options will allow me to install without all of the driver problems. However I have been told that doing so would wipe my data HDD that I currently have all my stuff on.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi needed to edit a short clip, i already have pinnacle video spin, but i use that for longer videos, not for 20, 30 secs clips, i just wanted to add text to the video.
i remember that i find for an alternative to moviemaker time ago because moviemaker can export in 30fps, but ok i am fine with pinnacle, but for short clips i want to use moviemaker.
The problem is that in the intallation, in the list of stuff that it will install with it, it is Directx 3d 9, i already have directx 11, and i dont want to downgrade. i have read in many forum that it doesn't overwrite it because after installation it can be verified in dxdiag, i don't know what happen, but even when dxdiag says that directx 11 is there, there is a noticeable decrease in video performance AFTER the installation of the software that ask for directx9 what i suspect, that directx WAS installed but for some reason dxdiag still shows directx 11.
i dont know WHY moviemaker can't detect directx 11 and to work with that, it's the same unresolved case of the nero 7 on windows 7, that ask for the directx 9 too. and if not, it can't be installed

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've built a brand new PC and decided that I would like to install windows 7 64 bit on my SSD, I got a disk+key from my university before christmas so that'd i'd be ready once i'd built it.
I built the PC yesterday and realised that I'd left my external DVD drive at my university accommodation, I'm at my parents house for christmas break so that's a few weeks left. I can't really wait that long so I used my parents laptop (which I'm posting from now) to turn the disk into an .iso and use the microsoft USB utility to make a USB stick that i could install from.
However when I tried the install gets to 'installing features' and gives 'windows cannot install required files' error code 0x80070570 I looked the code up on google which sent me to a lot of threads here, so far I've tried:

First off this is a newly built computer, all fresh components. aftercleaning/activating the hdd via shift +f10 at Windows 7 setup,(which took me a day to figure out) i was very excited to see my hdd available for Windows 7 installation. as i proceed windows does its thing, after installing its time for the first restart. it restarts right back to the initial windows 7 setup ive done a lot of research, and majority of the problems seem to be the boot priority in bios. so i made sure that it was usb-hdd, then hard drive. (Windows 7 on flash drive for me, no dvd burner available). still the same thing, right back to initial setup. i tried maybe to remove the flash drive during the 10 second countdown to restart, but when it restarts, the windows splash screen comes up and then blue screens and restarts real quick. cant see what the error is on bsodthere have been a couple different start up issues, "windows did not start properly" "select version of windows to start from" (or something to that effect.) but its all the same outcome. windows 7 just wont finish installation
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a re-install of all components following a complete corruption of the boot sector on my drive which could not be fixed with repairs. The last time I installed everything fresh, I had no issues. Between then and now, there have been no hardware changes on my system, but now I am having issues installing the IDT Codecs. I keep getting an error along the following lines: Quote: ExitError: Error=Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again. Running under compatibility mode, and running drivers from both the motherboard CD and the manufacturer website both have the same effect. The CD, when booted, says "This OS not support!" and only contains 32-bit vista codecs. ECS' website download indicates the IDT drivers as being compatible with Windows 7. Both do not work. It is almost as if the hardware "disappeared," despite the fact that I was using the drivers quite successfully till just 2 days ago, when the boot sector went kaput.
Windows has installed its own default set, which do nothing to power the 8mm jacks which I use with my speakers, but instead put sound through the HDMI, which is useless because I use a dedicated graphics card. I have tried uninstalling this codec and re-installing IDT, to no effect. Windows replaces with its own default codec.I have referenced this thread here, but offered solutions do not seem to work for me: Intel IDT Audio Driver will not install
