Somehow, as usual, I deleted all the shortcuts that I had on my taskbar. In the process or reinstalling the shortcuts, the Revouninstaller shortcut icon just wouldn't attach to the taskbar. There was no pin to taskbar in the content menu.?
View 4 RepliesAs the title suggests, I`m trying to pin a one-click shortcut to the taskbar of a Windows 7 system for My Music.I can create and pin a shortcut to Libraries but not directly to the music folder and right clicking on the My Music icon doesn`t give `pin to taskbar` as an option.I`ve attempted to make a new shortcut (right-click on desktop and choose New... ) and entered the path to the music folder but again, I can`t seem to work out how to pin it.

Before I reformatted, I had a shortcut pinned to my taskbar that opened my sound recorder and playback controls so I didnt have to go through control panel to access them. just one click on the shortcut and I could access the record and playback tabs. Unfortunately I have forgotten how I did this. I read it somewhere but I didn't make a note of it. Now every time I want to change the way I listen to sound or record sound I have to go through CP to get to them. I know I can pin the control panel to the taskbar and open the controls from there but that means 2 mouse clicks where I used to do it with just the one click. how to put these shortcuts on my taskbar.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Thunderbird as my email client and I used to have a desktop icon I could click to open the send mail window with a pre-addressed mail. I created a desktop shortcut and put something like this in the location window:
mailto:(url)....
This doesn't seem to work in Windows 7 64 bit and instead of a shortcut icon I get a small desktop file created. When I click it, a send mail window opens but it isn't pre-addressed and the desktop file is an attachment.

(Again, this is the address bar in the taskbar, not the address bar in an explorer or browser window for which ALT+D is the shortcut.) View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen using Notepad (Version 6.1.7600.16385) (or just any Version for that matter) and trying to delete a whole word using the very handy ctrl + delete shortcut key, the Notepad application types this very strange symbol instead. Actually... I couldn't paste it for some reason. But it looks like a little box thing. Just try it in notepad and you will see it appear. First of all I find this annoying, so I was wondering what can I do to make it so ctrl + del works in Notepad for deleting whole words (because I love notepad). And second, why does it do this? Notepad isn't the only text box in Windows 7 that does this, I've found it on a couple of other text input elements as well. And what does this symbol even mean?

I thought if I could find the exe file, I could create a shortcut from there and guessed it`d be in C/Windows/system32 but unless it`s camouflaged, it doesn`t seem to be there.

Some websites have very annoying music or 'announcements' so I like to switch the sound off - now I can't without going via Control Panel.I have looked in Control panel and found System Icons - and the Sound label is shown as OFF. But the little arrow next to it to change the state is greyed out so I can't turn it back on.I tried the 'show all icons' under Notification Area Icons but the audio still doesn't show.

Then today I unpinned Firefox from there because I wanted to change the icon I was using. After deciding I didn't like it I tried to go back to the one I was using but when I pinned it back to the task bar this problem occurred:As you can see when I click on the silver Firefox icon, it opens up a new firefox icon (default icon) in a separate place, taking up unnecessary space. I can't figure out how to make it go back to the way it was where everything stayed within the silver icon.

When I right click on the taskbar and choose properties, the power icon is turned off and the button that allows you to turn it on is greyed out. I've checked it with the netbook plugged in and on battery power and have the same issue

On my xp laptop I can left click on the battery in the taskbar and choose always on, presentation, ect. My desktop has Windows 7 x64, and I can't enable the power icon on the taskbar (Its grayed out in the "turn system icons on or off" ).
