Each time I start I have to submit a password in order to get my Start Page. I use W7 and Firefox 3.6. How I can eliminate the password. I have removed all passwords from Security tab and now have nothing I can enter in that box.
View 7 RepliesAccounts with parental controls on to enable time restrictions are beyond annoying because the require a password to install or download any update or program, and many programs require passwords to use.
How can I bypass this idiotic "feature" while still enabling time locks.

I have Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.It is the only program that not starts and that occurred a few days ago after installing and uninstalling some alternative such mediacenter softwares as Mediaportal and Nextpvr.I've tried everything.
1 System restore..... impossible!: Mc:
2 Malawarebytes, ComboFix, thinking of a virus nothing!
3 Uninstalling and reinstalling Windows media center .... nothing!
4 Reinstall and reuninsinstalling of Mediaportal and Nextpvr nothing!
5 Event Log does not show any event at the error msg!
6 Local Security Policy. I entered a new rule with the path to the Wmce ehshell.exe making explicit without restriction .... nothing!
7 Installing all new updates of Win 7 ....
8 Searching on the internet not much!

I have Windows 7 64-bit and have configured Software Restriction Policies so that "Disallowed" is the default security level. I also have Path Rules defined so that software in C:Program Files, C:Program Files (x86), and C:Windows can execute. I also want it to apply to only my limited user account, so it is configured for "All users except local administrators".But it is still affecting my admin account. When I'm logged in as my admin user and I try to run any executable file in the C:UsersadminDownloads directory, I get a popup saying "This program is blocked by group policy."why the Software Restrictions Policies are affecting my admin account even though it is set to "All users except local administrators"?

Is there any way that I could use the Parental Control feature on each separate account in a sense that whenever the user logs in, the time restriction starts? As oppose to the time restriction being set at specific hours. And is there also a way that whenever the user logs out, if he still has time left, it will pause the time restriction and resume when he logs back in?

For more information, contact your system administrator." The computer is my home PC, I am the only administrator... I'm assuming one of the programs my buddy put on my computer is stopping the program from running. He said the programs would make my computer run better. Now I am able to switch between Display Languages as expected. But after my last return from Japanese as Display Language to English, I find that Windows Explorer shows date information in Japanese, and IE uses Japanese as its language. Yet the Desktop icons have English legends, and the Start menu is in English. So there is a mixture of languages. Is there a way to eliminate Japanese completely? Should I uninstall the Language Packs?

My PC is positioned about as far as it will go without pulling the plugs out. It might also be worth noting there are no speakers on my PC. I've also read there is supposed to be a Microphone Boost in my recording settings as well as a Microphone Enhancements tab? There never has been, on any mic I've used on my PC. And it's been suggested that this might be a possible fix, but I'm sort of doubtful on that.I've been thinking of investing in more audio equipment (shock mount, scissor arm, pop filter?) or perhaps returning it for a different mic altogether.

Running Windows 7 Ultimate on Sony Vaio laptop
I have my laptops configured to shut down when I press the power button. Problem is it stops at a screen telling me that some programs are running and I have to click to "Force Shutdown" on these programs before it shuts down. Otherwise it just sits there like a jackass until the battery runs down--or forever if it is on AC power.
Is there a way to force this computer to shut down when the power button is pressed--without further user participation.

It keeps reverting to the old password as the saved password, and I continually have to retype in the new password. I tried resetting the password to nothing, and rebooting, and the old password comes back again.There must be a preference file or an ini file that I can edit. Can I do that without loosing my address book, etc.?
