Using Parental Control Features In Windows 7 - Setting Time Restriction?
Jun 1, 2011I'm trying to use the Parental Control feature on one Windows 7 machine in my home. This machine is used by two of my younger sons. Is there any way that I could use the Parental Control feature on each separate account in a sense that whenever the user logs in, the time restriction starts? As oppose to the time restriction being set at specific hours. And is there also a way that whenever the user logs out, if he still has time left, it will pause the time restriction and resume when he logs back in?

I have Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.It is the only program that not starts and that occurred a few days ago after installing and uninstalling some alternative such mediacenter softwares as Mediaportal and Nextpvr.I've tried everything.
1 System restore..... impossible!: Mc:
2 Malawarebytes, ComboFix, thinking of a virus nothing!
3 Uninstalling and reinstalling Windows media center .... nothing!
4 Reinstall and reuninsinstalling of Mediaportal and Nextpvr nothing!
5 Event Log does not show any event at the error msg!
6 Local Security Policy. I entered a new rule with the path to the Wmce ehshell.exe making explicit without restriction .... nothing!
7 Installing all new updates of Win 7 ....
8 Searching on the internet not much!

Software Restriction Policies Is Wrongly Applied To Administrator?
Jan 20, 2013I have Windows 7 64-bit and have configured Software Restriction Policies so that "Disallowed" is the default security level. I also have Path Rules defined so that software in C:Program Files, C:Program Files (x86), and C:Windows can execute. I also want it to apply to only my limited user account, so it is configured for "All users except local administrators".But it is still affecting my admin account. When I'm logged in as my admin user and I try to run any executable file in the C:UsersadminDownloads directory, I get a popup saying "This program is blocked by group policy."why the Software Restrictions Policies are affecting my admin account even though it is set to "All users except local administrators"?

Dec 25, 2012I've tried loading media center but when I do I get the message "Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a software restriction policy. For more information, contact your system administrator." The computer is my home PC, I am the only administrator... I'm assuming one of the programs my buddy put on my computer is stopping the program from running. He said the programs would make my computer run better. Nov 27, 2011I have two external USB2 HDs. Whn I click on the Safely Remove HW tray in Windows 7 Ult 64-bit, HD-1 is shown, and I can remove it, but HD-2 is not shown, and therefore I cant remove it.
But HD-2 does show on the Safely Remove HW tray in XP. Same computer, btw. Am I ok to just shut down the HD, or may I run into trouble by doing that? I learned the hard way a few years ago that you can't do that with drives attached to Mac OSX. why that HD would not show up in Windows 7, when it does in XP?

Dec 5, 2009I have a desktop (currently running Win 7 x64) and a laptop (currently running Ubuntu) but I'm having loads of problems with the 64bit version of windows on my desktop and I want to switch so Ubuntu is installed on the desktop and Windows 7 (32 bit) on my laptop.
I would only be using Windows on 1 PC but obviously it's already been activated on my desktop so would I have any problems activating it on my laptop? Is there a way to "deactivate" my desktop so I can activate it on the laptop or am I going to have to call Microsoft and hope they'll allow me to do this?
