I recently got a BSOD I looked up the error code and its linked to windows security essentials. I tried logging into my computer regularly but it will load the icons and blue screen. But I can run find in safe mode but it won't uninstall the program in safemode.
Dell Desktop Windows XP 32 IE 7 no free memory to download anything. Can't remove programs, no security tab. No windows installer in safe mode. I've confused myself now.Cannot access any file due to permissions. Need to know how to remove programs, then reset permissions. I've been trying to work on this for two days. Can't seem to make sense of any of the great information and tools available, because I don't know which to address first.
I am running the RC in Windows Classic Mode for the display. When I click the Safely Remove Hardware to disconnect my external USB HD, I do not get the bubble that I got under XP telling me that it was now safe to remove the device. This also is the case under one of the Win 7 themes.
I'm using Windows 7 x64 SP1 Pro on a HP Compaq notebook. Since I installed Windows and all those HP apps (some of them apparently required to access BIOS) I got this shortcut on desktop and I cannot remove it. Deleting it manually does not work and the shortcut does not appear in User/Desktop or Public/Desktop folders. Right clicking it does not show the usual menu but this so I cannot get the location of the file. Also, the Remove Icon option does nothing not even in Safe Mode. How to get rid of this? Some suggested to reinstall the app however this also does not work.
Whenever I safely disconnect any of my USB devices from any USB ports, the balloon does not show up confirming that devices are now safe to disconnect. And when I go to "devices nd printers" i see the device listed there with a yellow exclamation mark (!) next to it. THis started happening couple of weeks ago and I havent been able to find a solution yet.
When I want to remove a flash drive, clicking the icon shows all the available devices. When I click to eject the one I want Windows never says that it is now safe to remove. If I have a window to the drive open, I correctly get a message that it is not safe to remove. But I can close all windows and programs, leave the drive unaccessed for a couple of hours and then try to eject. It still doesn't tell me it is safe to remove. I can tell that there is no activity because of the light on the flash drive. Somehow the message is not being displayed.
After attempting to start my Laptop in Safe Mode, it loaded drivers normally only to crash a few seconds later. A prompt message appears but is impossible to read because Windows immediately reboots upon showing the prompt.
I am attempting to uninstall (and then reinstall) Office 2010 Prof Plus. I am not able to remove it from Add/Remove programs, have read through some help info and attempted to use the Windows Fixit, Revo & Ripoutoffice2007, none of which have removed it (Revo didn't take it out and then pulled up a million 'left over' files, none of which I deleted).
Does anyone know how to remove the "safely remove hardware" icon in the taskbar? I do not mean hide it. I have my icons always show in the notification area because I don't like the arrow icon either.
I have a laptop HP PAVILION tx2550er. After installing AMD AHCI driver in the system tray shows the Safely Remove Hardware icon (my hard drive). How to remove (not hide!) the icon?
My computer (HP Pavilion Elite m9040n) has been shutting down more and more frequently. It first started after I upgraded from Vista to Win 7 64bit.

It usually happens after a Windows Update or other updates. At first running the Windows Repair Utility would solve the problem but sometimes I got a message that Windows Repair was unable to solve the problem. Now when I try to use Windows Repair the Blue Screen flashes and I get the above error message.
Now even when trying to start in Safe Mode, the Win Files load then the Blue Screen flashes and Im back to (A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down etc.)
Need safe Keylogger for Windows 7??I bought a new computer with Win 7 OS. For personal use, I want a safe keylogger for win 7 computer. I know some keyloggers are not compatible with Win 7 OS now, so can anyone tell me where I can find such safe software that will run on windows 7? There is also AVG antivirus on it too. I tried blazing tools personal keylogger but it wont work at all. I don't want to keep spending money on these programs if they are not going to work.
I've tried setting the Startup selection on the General tab to Normal Startup, and on the Boot tab, I've cleared Safe Boot from the Boot options, have then applied by changes, said ok, rebooted, and we're right back on the Safe Mode screen.
i've got some problems with my hp laptop. So, windows freezes after boot animation (BSOD appeared one time - 0x0000016), loads fine in safe mode. I've reinstalled it couple of times on different hdds, and still the same - windows starts only one time. And, eah, though bsod blames on video card driver, the card itself seem to run well - no image artefacts, no overheat, etc.
Windows 7 will not boot into NORMAL mode. It will only boot into SAFE mode. This Windows does not provide the option: Boot into last good configuration....It only offers: SAFE SAFE with Networking normal In Safe Mode, I can not get Windows to react to a hard network connection.I don't know how to get out of the SAFE mode loop and force Windows back into NORMAL mode.
When I start my laptop, everything is ok, vaio logo and the windows loading logo. But that's everything. Loading is like never ending. I tried to get to bios menu and start safe mode. Files start loading and at file classpnp.sys it stops loading. So I click on repair my computer and the Startup repair showed me two reports: first was A patch is preventing system to start, error code 0xa and second one that system repair cannot repair this computer automatically. I do not own cd with os, because I have oem version. Also I don't have any Repair point from using pc in the past.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit with the latest updates installed.
Today i switched on my computer, logged in and after a few seconds the computer locks up. I am unable to open Task Manager or any other program. I am still able to use the mouse, but nothing opens. I tried Safe Mode and it works fine. I am in safe mode as i am typing this.
In safe mode I am running a scan with Spybot Search and Destroy. It has found nothing.
I absolutely love command prompt. If possible, i would run everything from there. I like it more than the gui's, makes me feel clever or something. How do I restart windows in safe mode using cmd? And thus eliminating the annoying f8 f8 f8 f8.How do I start msconfig and computer management from cmd?
When I turn on my Acer laptop normally it loads but then completely freezes, not letting me do anything. The only way I can use it is through safe mode. It was working fine before it suddenly broke and it is only a few months old. I thought it might be a virus? I do have up to date anti virus thoug
I have the following computer:Samsung model NP300V5AH, Windows 7, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.19GHz, Installed memory (RAM) 4.00 GB, 64-bit Operating System My problem is freezing. At first it would only freeze when opening or saving a huge file in Photoshop with Illustrator and AutoCAD also running but now it's gone to freezing when I open a second window in Chrome. It only freezes in Safe Mode when I try to open a big program like AutoCAD, adobe stuff, chrome is no problem in safe mode with networking. This is a proper freeze, I can leave it for hours and it's still frozen, need to hold down the power button everytime.
So far I have tried:
Scan with CCleaner Scan with Malware Bytes Scan with Spybot (found lots incl.iminent search which had been a problem - but apparently not THE problem?) Removed Utorrent, iminent search,1clickdownloader using Program Unistall Checked drivers in device manager.. just one flag for Microsoft ISATAP Adapter when in safe mode. Reinstalled but still there, internet said this problem wasn't a problem? Did System Restore to oldest date, no help. Ran microsoft fix it, no help. Did safe boot with everything except Microsoft services turned off - still a freezing problem
I don't have my windows recovery CD as i'm in the middle of a move and everything is in a container on a ship.Haven't done a memtest+ yet as it seemed complicated and last-resort-ish...
I have a Toshiba Satellite L505-S5986 Laptop. It started out with a problem with the speakers not working and the USB ports also didn't work when that happened. It now freezes up at the desktop when I power up. It will only run in Safe Mode. I have reset it back to factory defaults 3 times and nothing seems to work to fix this problem. I am able to run it in Safe Mode with Networking and managed to get Hijackthis downloaded. I have a log file ready if you want it.I've been working on this thing for 5 days now and am ready to round file it. Below is the system information for that computer. Tech Support[CODE]
I am running Win 7 64 bit and would like to start in Safe Mode to run a security scan. The problem My keyboard is bluetooth so there is no way I can restart and push F8 and get an option for Safe Mode prior to Windows starting up in normal mode. I understand this can be done from the command prompt and am willing to try but I am not really an advanced user.
Worked like a charm. Yes, MalwareBytes and Security Essentials.
I have a new Medion PC with Windows 7.I need to access safe mode. On boot i get the option to press f8 for boot options which gives me exactly that. A list of boot devices and nothing else. Also, is the option to press f11 for recovery which i didn't try as i'm not sure what would happen. Also, how do i enter the Bios menus if i need it in the future. My Vista PC was so easy where this was concerned.
I have an Asus X72J series running windows 7 64-bit. To make it simple, windows doesn't manage to boot normally, but it works if I start it in safe mode. I would like to know if there is any tutorial which proposes step by step processes in order to locate the source of the problem.I have alreay run startup repair 5 times with restarts between each, and it ended up it could not resolve my problem.
Besides:
- I have not installed any software before having this trouble
- I have not installed any new peripheral or driver
- I checked the memory and HDD and both are fine
- My guess is that there is a driver or hardware compatibility problem somewhere, since the trouble appeared after a long time passed in hibernation (extended stand-by mode) in which I unplug the computer, and this is ot the first time my WIndows has some troubles after this.
this might seem like a really dumb question but i've tried pressing f8 repeatedly on asus screen to try and start windows in safe mode but it never works.
