I can't open a specific folder to display the content with Explorer.I'm running Windows 7 7601.win7sp1_gdr.120830-0333 Home Premium. The folder is on a secondary HDD where I also have the system folders Libraries and Download. All the system and program files are on my primary SSD C: drive. What doesn't work:With my regular account, on that specific folder, I can't display the content via Explorer. I can't either get it when I try to open it from inside applications such as Notepad++, PotPlayer, Media Player Classic, VirtualDub. What works:If I enter the name of a file in the File name field of the Open command of the application, the file will open normally. When I point to that folder with the Windows command line console, and use the DIR command, it will display the complete list of files. Finally, when I look at the folder from the Admin account or from a Guest account, Explorer will display the content.instantaneously.
Things I did:I have checked Show hidden files in Folder Options.I did a Check Disk, which didn't find any error.I also ran: ATTRIB -s -h mbrp /s /d (Where mbrp contains the directory causing problem) hoping that somehow, some System Attributes could be removed.FWIW, it seems this happened as I was trying to run an Avisynth64 script with new installation of MPC-HC64.A this point, I am out of ideas. I know that switching to a new regular user account would solve the problem, but I see that as a last resort.
My operating system is windows 7 and my problem is with the http.I used to have just plan HTTP but i click a button that said yes I want a secure connection and ever since then I have had nothing but problems. Every time I go to Facebook or Yahoo and click on an app I get an error message that says. Switch to regular connection (http)? We can't display this content while you're viewing Facebook over a secure connection (https). Would you like to temporarily switch to a regular connection (http) to use this app?You will have a secure connection upon your next login. How do i change it back to a regular connection

I have windows 7 home premium 32bit on a pretty fast AMD phenom II x4 with 4gb ram. The problem I ahve is with windows explorer. When I click on a drive, it takes about 5 seconds before it will show me the folders. Then when I click on a folder, I have to wait as a little hourglass-type slider goes across the top of the screen before it will show the contents. This can take anywhere from 2-15 seconds. I don't remember any other windows OS doing this.Is there something I can change to help speed this up? Not sure that it matters, but I checked defrag and most of my drives are less than 5% fragmented - the most being 15%.
I have a CHM file stored on the OS harddrive.Whenever I try to click on the table of contents, it tries to download the htm file instead of opening it in the adjacent window. All my other chm files work normally. I'm not sure if a recent windows update did this.
In my office , a program to launch we need to deleted the contents of the folderC: users >local> app data > isolated stoarge > Delete Contentsow can i schedule this Task . so no need to go to every system and delete this files automatically.
It's my first time posting a thread so I hope I'm being clear enough (plenty of experience reading thought so I guess it's time to practice what I have seen so far
I work on a roaming profile environment (Windows 2008 R2). This is the issue: I recently moved (cut/paste) several folders from C: to the desktop, so their content could be saved as part of my profile (not a big deal, regular stuff). Had to restart my device (no errors involved) and after logging back I got a surprise: all the content from one of the folders in question is missing!
Just to be more specific, this is exactly what I did: select, cut and paste no more than 5 folders; just recalled that the one missing the content was renamed before restarting (all the content was still there before this point).
I know important things should NEVER be located in the desktop (my fault, sorry!), but have anyone seen this case before?
In the leftmost column where folders are displayed, my folder shows Foldername (6) indicating there are six messages in that folder. When I click on the folder, it shows no content.
A few months ago my HP laptop stopped displaying background pictures. I can change the color of the background, but doesn't change if I tell it to do a slideshow or use a picture from my hard drive, and when I try to change the themes it only changes the look of the windows and the default sounds. I looked it up and found a few other people having similar problems
Firstly my hardware:CPU: Phenom x3 720GPU: MSI Radeon 6850 OC (bought about week ago)RAM: 2x Kingston HyperX DDR2 1066MhzMOBO: Ta790gx 128MPOWER: Seasonic Ss500et 500WMONITOR: Old Daytek 17" (D-Sub slot)Today everything worked fine, but after reboot my monitor didn't display anything. Diode was shining as in sleep mode. I tried to use second DVI port (with DVI->D-Sub adapter) but no difference and PC wasn't running well(no BIOS beep and PC was stopped i think). I unplugged my Radeon card and connected monitor to integrated card and then it was working perfectly. But... I have DVI and D-Sub integrated, first one doesn't work with adapter, D-Sub works... Weird... I decided to plug again my Radeon and check again, but the same as before. I am confused, don't know now that card is broken or maybe this adapter?
The computer I'm using is older (3+ years) and has frustrated me a few times, most notably in the past 2 months.
That said, this is a new problem. My second (DVI) monitor is detected by Windows but doesn't display anything. In both the display settings and the NVIDIA control panel, I can see a second (Impression) monitor, but it's blank and I can't get it to show anything. In fact, the monitor doesn't seem to recognize that it's connected, because the orange "power but no input" light is on rather than the green "power and input" light.
This is a Windows 7 64-bit installation on a Dell Dimension E520.
The first one is the BIOS boot up screen that usually leads me to Windows. A few months ago, this vanished. I don't know if it was due to a version of Windows 7 i installed or something but whenever I turned on the PC, the screen would appear blank for a few minutes then go straight to the Windows welcome screen. I thought it was weird, but I didn't see a problem since it went to Windows so I disregarded it, which looking back is kind of dumb but I didn't want to risk doing something to the computer in the process. So a few weeks ago I was trying to partition the hard drive so I can install the Windows 8 preview on it, rebooted the computer and...nothing. It wouldn't take me to Windows to there's clearly a problem with the hard drive. I could always get a new one, but there's still the problem of the vanishing BIOS screen.
I have a dsl cable internet connection and I use proxy sometimes. Recently my browsers couldn't open any webpage without activating proxy. I used to ping some domains and I got replies and I looked at proxy setting in any browser and choosed no proxy , but when I try to open a website It says for example could not locate the remote server in Opera , and after using proxy server (like your freedom) and activate my proxy setting in browsers I can easily open any webpage.
Windows doesn't display some shortcuts correctlyFor some applications I see: But in properties of the file i can see it's icon. How to fix this?p.s. I tried to delete IconCache.db and reboot,
My computer all of a sudden isn't displaying the info on drop down boxes, Such as dates for ordering on line for credit card info or sizes, etc. I don't know how to fix this. I can't see the Category choices in the box below this dialog box.I don't have the money to call Microsoft.
Within the last couple days, Media Center/Recorded TV has started displaying a message "WMC could not find any shared libraries on your network or there is no content in those libraries."The directory it uses to record is "C:UsersPublicRecorded TV" and I can see prior recordings and new recordings in this directory. If I go into "Tasks" and select this directory as a library it shows as already selected and tells me no changes will be made to my libraries list on selecting "finish".I can click on one of the recorded program files in file manager and it will launch WMC and play just fine - the recorded programs just don't show up in the WMC/Recorded TV where they should.
My old monitor has problems turning on, I can leave it on for 30hrs before it decides to display a picture, or I can manipulate it by unplugging the DVI cable from the back, but sometimes even that takes a few tries. It's off warranty and for reference it's a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW.So I bought a new monitor and I have it plugged in using HDMI, but a problem I get is that when both monitors are plugged in the HDMI has no display until it gets to Windows, so I cannot see the boot process of my PC, because my old monitor as explained above has problems turning on. Was a hindrance today when I was tinkering with my SSD and had to go to BIOS, and frankly I'd like to be able to see in case anything goes wrong, like a BSOD or Windows update etc.
recently I installed fresh windows 7 64 bit and get stuck with the On-Screen Display, but the thing is before I replaced my old windows 7 64 bit I had On-Screen Display when I used keyboard buttons to put volume up/down, put wireless on/off etc. I could see changes on middle of bottom screen, I have installed 'the synaptic touchpad driver' but isn't showing up me nothing about that on screen display
" Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage "Ok this is getting very annoying today; 4/5 x today so far i got the above message and i can t get it to stop ; used Ccleaner and Malwearbytes and Combo fix and the logs show nothing and then when i use yahoo search theirs no problems the site is found ! ? using win 7 - 4 gigs of ram and i.e. 9.0 which so far stinks the 9.0 so very slow and bloat galore wonder if ie 6.0 works here that always seemed the best the fastest to date so far?
When I am browsing web sites in IE 8, I am getting frequently this error, when i refresh after this, I could open the website. I need to refresh for almost every site open then it opens. I am attaching the screen shot. I cleared deleting cookies and did some settings in

I have 3 users on my computer. When I click on the IE icon on my desktop, I get the error Internet Explorer can't display the page. But when I type a website into the search bar, I can get on just fine. The other 2 users on the same computer can both click the ie icon and get on the internet right away without the error message. My computer is just a month old.
I have a problem with Windows Explorer, I searched for a valid solution besides reinstalling or creating a new user (profile), both solution that I find unacceptable but to no avail. Expected behavior from Windows Explorer. You copy a file into a folder, you want it to automatically get into order in whatever sorting order you choose. Current behavior of my Windows Explorer, when I copy a file into a folder or if I rename a file and want Explorer to update I have to hit F5 (Actualiser (in french)). Since my Windows in is french I have some difficulty to find the correct wording to conduct the search.
I have network drives mapped on my machine (Win 7 Pro 64bit) and any time I open Explorer while not connected to my companies domain, the icons take anywhere from 15-20 seconds to fully display.
As soon as I disconnect all the drives, the icons display immediately.
