Jul 18, 2010I have been using my Windows 7 x64 system for about 5 months without a problem. I booted it yesterday, and an autoupdate occurred as soon as Windows 7 started up. It looked like this autoupdate made changes to /COMPONENTS. As soon as it finished, the system rebooted, and got stuck on the eVGA P55 splash screen. It was stuck there for about 10 minutes, so I manually shut down the computer. Every time I turn it on now, I get stuck on the eVGA P55 splash screen. I can not get into safe mode or anything. Any suggestions on how to go about fixing this? Did some stupid Windows autoupdate crash my new computer? I am turning those off if that is what happened.

Apr 9, 2012I've come across something odd while benchmarking my 560ti prior to trying a bit of overclocking.While using FurMark 1.9.2 for testing, with EVGA's Precision X open for monitoring, the GPU clock bounces between 450 and 900 MHz (with 900 MHz being the default clock on this card). This is very evident on the "furry doughnut" as it moves faster and slower in a rhythmic fashion.I noted the FurMark score, closed Precision X and tried again. Got approximately the same score, so I shut down the machine and rebooted. Ran FurMark again without ever starting Precision X but still got the same results.This GPU clock "oscillation" doesn't occur when I run other tools such as OCCT or Unigine.Is this normal?

Nov 13, 2009I had installing Windows 7 64bit on my PC, every time it went to configure mode the PC blue screened. I removed the NVDIA 8800GS video card and completed Installation using On board video (Intel IGP) Now I plug back the Card and see Windows wont boot and results in Blue Screen. I went to safe mode and installed Drivers downloaded from NVDIA site but it didn't help to get rid of this error.
BTW blue screen message says Page_fault in non paged area
WHat should I do here?

Jan 11, 2009just got done installing the Windows 7 Beta and updating all of my drivers.
There's one that's still giving me troubles though; my graphics card. I've got an XFX GeForce 6200 512MB AGP 8x. This is the second time I've had an issue with this card. I powered off my system, plugged the card in, and rebooted. I didn't touch anything in the BIOS, as my old Radeon 9250 worked fine before.
I log on to Windows, and I get the 'Installing Device Driver' or whatever popup. It runs, installs, says everything is fine, but I need to restart for it to take effect, so I do. I get back into Windows, expecting some Aero windows to greet me, but no. In Device Manager, I have the little yellow /!. It says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
This also happened in Windows Vista Ultimate SP1.
AGP 6200 Card Issue
Dec 28, 2009I know that my system is outdated compared to nowadays PCs but it is really sufficient for my humbled needs and it was working fine under XP but when I jumped to Windows 7, I found out that video performance is so poor in a strange way (same exact videos played great under windows XP) and after i did a lot of exhaustive goggling, I just came up with that the reason might lie in the combination of using a DX9 card under windows 7 (PS I'm using the latest 195.62 driver from nvidia). Can someone give the drivers that came up with windows vista 32 so that I try them on the hope that it can help with the performance issue.
PS I use realplayer (and I tried different players but still same performance issue) and Klite codec pack
PNY Geforce 6200 Problem
Dec 29, 2009I've just bought a PNY Geforce 6200 512Mb DDR2 AGP8X graphics card and have been trying for five hours to get it installed on my system.
My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-7DXE (which is quite old and supports AGP4X but I've heard it can support AGP8X)
I reach the 'Starting Windows' screen before it stops and does nothing.
There is no trouble in me using a standard VGA adapter installed in the AGP slot. I tried uninstalling the driver for it and restarting the computer with the new card in but the startup process only goes so far before stopping at the 'Starting Windows' screen.
Every now and again the HDD light on the front of my case will flicker and I will hear the HDD spinning (and having a think about loading or something!) but then it ceases.
I've been online and downloaded the latest drivers for this graphics card but Windows 7 won't let me install them because I need to have the card plugged into the motherboard in order for it to let the installation proceed. On the installer I get the message,
"The nvidia setup program could not locate and drivers that are compatible with your current hardware."
[*Of course I am viewing this message using the standard vga adapter because I can't use the new graphics card because it won't get past the 'Starting Windows' stage!]
When I go into safe mode the loading process goes up to amdagp.sys which I think is the last bit before it should take me to the 'Welcome' screen.
I've downloaded the latest chipset for my mobo from Gigabyte's website (although the release date was back in 2002!
*Breaking news, Windows Update has just offered me an update for Geforce 6200! However the installation failed. Here's a link to the screenshot:

I think it's still to do with not having the card plugged into the mobo. I wonder if I put in the new graphics card and set Windows Update to run in ten minutes time, would it apply the update because the card would be present?
Evga 790i FTW Mass Storage Driver
Nov 20, 2009For over a month now I have been trying to get the mass storage driver to work in Windows 7 x64 OS system. I have upgraded the drivers from the website and that didn’t work. Then I posted the question on your forum and someone had sent me to another driver that still didn’t work.
In Windows 7 x64 it will not install and recognize any driver for the mass storage driver even after installing the driver package that I downloaded from the site. Also, it seems without the mass storage driver working Windows 7 x64 will not recognize my other drives that attached to a PCI IDE card that Windows 7 does recognize and functioning properly.

Apr 14, 2009i just bought a new video card (EVGA GTX260) yesterday and installed it and played with it with no problem....(one day later)......until now so basically here what happens now. when i boot up it goes through the "starting up" phase and when the window 7 says "Welcome" after that i just get a blue screen, no word no picture just blue!
So i press the reset button and i am only able to go to my desktop menu by safe mode! and if i try to go through "start up computer regular" it would just lead me to the blue plane screen....
The reason why i think it is the driver is because in safe mode i am able to uninstall my nvidia driver. Restart and WOW i am back to my "REGULAR" desktop menu but with no driver. SO as soon as i am on my screen Window 7 wants install the newly detected video card's drivers for me and i do. when i restart BAM! back to the blue screen..
Nvidia GeForce 6200 Causing Blue Screen
Aug 14, 2009I've been getting the BSOD when trying to open pictures or videos. I thought it was due to installing DirectX 9.0, but I've since reinstalled Windows 7 RC and started fresh again. Now get this. Everything worked fine. I used the 'generic' video driver that gets installed with Windows 7 RC and just upped the resolution to 1280 x 1024.
It worked and looked great, even pics and vids worked, but anything that was graphically taxing became very choppy and pixelated; especially videos. So I installed the drivers that came w/ the Gfx card, everything runs smooth and crisp, but I'm no longer able to look at pics or vids. I get the BSOD every single time. This leads me to believe that the Gfx card driver is the issue. Any known fixes for this?
Nvidia GeForce 6200 - Won't Extend Displays To Second Monitor

Selecting extend displays just shows my desktop background image on the second screen, regular desktop on the first screen. duplicate displays works as intended.

Nov 14, 2009Have one question, When I installed Windows 7 the only drivers I have installed were my video and audio which are not part of the motherboard (not onboard). My computer runs fine but 1 game but more or less I never installed any driver for my motherboard.
Normally you install the motherboards nforce drivers, raid SATA/IDE drivers etc... Do I need to go back to my motherboard vendor and find updates for windows 7 or just leave it they way it is, or should I install the drivers off the motherboard CD I have here? My mobo doesn't have any windows 7 updates btw there all windowsXP based drivers.
Manufacturer Drivers Vs. Windows Drivers
Dec 26, 2009I recently purchased a Lenovo K230 Desktop and installed 64-bit Win 7 Pro.
Everything works fine... but I'm a little OCD about drivers and making sure everything is up to date.
So here's my question: I found a dedicated Lenovo site with drivers to most of my devices here.
If Windows has assigned it's own drivers (which in some cases are newer), should I just ignore the drivers on the Lenovo site unless something is not working?
Example: Intel has a network card driver on the site, but it's older than the driver Win 7 provided. Is there any benefit from using Intel's driver -- which is 180megs btw (why it needs to be that big puzzles me).
So... Manufacturer drivers Vs. Windows drivers? Any benefit to going back to the manufacturer and using their drivers or just leave things as-is?
[DRIVERS] USB Controllers, Audio Device And Broadcom Netxtreme Drivers Are Dead?
Aug 27, 2011I'm running Windows 7 32 bit and I just noticed that all my drivers for the USB controllers, Audio/Sound devices and the Networking internet (Broadcom Netxtreme Drivers) have all died. They indicate that a Code 39 is the problem. I tried to load some of the drivers but it wouldn't allow them to install. I did a last known configuration attempt, no results. Did a system restore and it gave me an error message saying it didn't restore properly. I am trying to get the drivers online, burn them to a disk and load them. I have no internet access on that PC and the USB ports obviously don't work. I can get drivers on this PC online. Some I can't find. I did the uninstall driver, disable, all the usual for this problem. I am stumped. Any recovery attempts produce nil results. Thanks to Microsoft, I have no installation disc to do a new install or a backup image.
