View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been getting the BSOD when trying to open pictures or videos. I thought it was due to installing DirectX 9.0, but I've since reinstalled Windows 7 RC and started fresh again. Now get this. Everything worked fine. I used the 'generic' video driver that gets installed with Windows 7 RC and just upped the resolution to 1280 x 1024.
It worked and looked great, even pics and vids worked, but anything that was graphically taxing became very choppy and pixelated; especially videos. So I installed the drivers that came w/ the Gfx card, everything runs smooth and crisp, but I'm no longer able to look at pics or vids. I get the BSOD every single time. This leads me to believe that the Gfx card driver is the issue. Any known fixes for this?
Just tried to install an old 17 inch dell flatscreen as a second monitor and want to extend displays so that my desktop and all programs are shown across two monitors.
Selecting extend displays just shows my desktop background image on the second screen, regular desktop on the first screen. duplicate displays works as intended.
Requesting drivers for nVidia GeForce FX Go 5200 for windows 7 32bit
my note book is DELL INSPIRON 6400
just got done installing the Windows 7 Beta and updating all of my drivers.
There's one that's still giving me troubles though; my graphics card. I've got an XFX GeForce 6200 512MB AGP 8x. This is the second time I've had an issue with this card. I powered off my system, plugged the card in, and rebooted. I didn't touch anything in the BIOS, as my old Radeon 9250 worked fine before.
I log on to Windows, and I get the 'Installing Device Driver' or whatever popup. It runs, installs, says everything is fine, but I need to restart for it to take effect, so I do. I get back into Windows, expecting some Aero windows to greet me, but no. In Device Manager, I have the little yellow /!. It says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
This also happened in Windows Vista Ultimate SP1.
I've just bought a PNY Geforce 6200 512Mb DDR2 AGP8X graphics card and have been trying for five hours to get it installed on my system.
My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-7DXE (which is quite old and supports AGP4X but I've heard it can support AGP8X)
I reach the 'Starting Windows' screen before it stops and does nothing.
There is no trouble in me using a standard VGA adapter installed in the AGP slot. I tried uninstalling the driver for it and restarting the computer with the new card in but the startup process only goes so far before stopping at the 'Starting Windows' screen.
Every now and again the HDD light on the front of my case will flicker and I will hear the HDD spinning (and having a think about loading or something!) but then it ceases.
I've been online and downloaded the latest drivers for this graphics card but Windows 7 won't let me install them because I need to have the card plugged into the motherboard in order for it to let the installation proceed. On the installer I get the message,
"The nvidia setup program could not locate and drivers that are compatible with your current hardware."
[*Of course I am viewing this message using the standard vga adapter because I can't use the new graphics card because it won't get past the 'Starting Windows' stage!]
When I go into safe mode the loading process goes up to amdagp.sys which I think is the last bit before it should take me to the 'Welcome' screen.
I've downloaded the latest chipset for my mobo from Gigabyte's website (although the release date was back in 2002!
*Breaking news, Windows Update has just offered me an update for Geforce 6200! However the installation failed. Here's a link to the screenshot:
http://www.4shared.com/file/183891589/cfa2c245/update_failed.html
I think it's still to do with not having the card plugged into the mobo. I wonder if I put in the new graphics card and set Windows Update to run in ten minutes time, would it apply the update because the card would be present?
i just purchased an nvidia geforce gt440 , but it is'nt working. The system is showing error code 43 .the system had become pixelated and i have tried downloading n installing nvidia driver but still it isnt working. the graphics card is working on my other pc but not on this one....so i think dat there is some prob wid the settings in my pc.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm on a Sony Vaio laptop with a second monitor connected with a VGA cable. I just switched from Vista to Windows 7 and my second 22" monitor is not being recognized under the resolution screen. It worked perfectly fine on vista just hours prior. I tried hitting the detect button, reconnecting the monitor, and restarting. What am i doing wrong?
It might be my graphics card, im pretty sure i have a nvidia geforce 7200m gt. cant seem to find drivers for it anywhere. My computer keeps telling me all my drivers are up to date, yet my second monitor is still not recognized. this doesn't make sense. Should i just go back to vista?
I've been trying to upgrade an old coimputer to run Windows 7, so far it works really great, but the intel graphics are really shitty, so I bought an EVGA GeForce 6200 256MB PCI card to install. problem is, whenever the card is installed the computer won't boot, and is stuck on this screen,I pulled out the CMOS battery to try to reset it, but no dice.

I just installed windows 7 64-bit on my Acer laptop. It has a Nvidia Geforce 7000M video card. Windows 7 only sets it up as a generic vga card. I have tried all of the drivers I have found and none of them work. I am not able to use the dvd maker or other programs because of this. Any ideas? Cheryl

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 home premium. I had that message in Vista aswell. I tried to clean the drivers using a driver cleaner software and reinstalled them. I have also tried to find a BIOS upgrade without finding any for my motherboard. My motherboard isBengal Plus Motherboard which is made by Foxconn. The pc model is a Packard Bell Ixtreme A6530.
I am btw using 64 bit edition of Windows 7. The video card is Nvidia Geforce 220 GT.
I have an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 Video card with 256 MB of RAM.
The card seems to work quite well with Windows 7, except that the highest resolution I can get with the present driver is 1280 x 1024, but this naturally stretches the screen. I can set it to a nice 1280 x 800 which looks pretty good on my 19" monitor.
However, I would like to get a resolution of 1440 x 900 for my 19" monitor but this options is not available. Do I perhaps have the wrong driver? I am presently using the one I downloaded with Windows 7 in the Device Manager. The driver version is 9.6.8.5 and is dated 10/9/2006.
It is not on this list on the Nvidia site
http://www.nvidia.com/object/io_1241025430517.html
Will windows perhaps be updating this driver for this card? Is there something I am not getting here?
Also, I do not know if this card is going to get more support from Windows.
Supposedly this driver will work for windows 7 but I have been unable to successfully install it.

Any help in this area for this card would be nice. I really like Windows 7.
I was attempting to install the display driver when I received this error message from Windows Update: "WindowsUpdate_80070006" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"
I searched Google and only found 7 results with no solutions. I attempted to get the drivers from the nVidia website and it informed me that I needed to get the drivers from my computer's manufacturer (HP)-so I went there. The only thing offered on my particular notebook's support page was an update for the Wireless Assistant.
Has anyone else encountered an error when installing nVidia drivers on their laptop or received that particular error from Windows Update?
After downgrading Windows 7 from 64bit to 32bit on my Sony Vaio VPCS11C5E I cannot find the correct driver for my graphic card NVIDIA Geforce 310M.
