I'm on a Sony Vaio laptop with a second monitor connected with a VGA cable. I just switched from Vista to Windows 7 and my second 22" monitor is not being recognized under the resolution screen. It worked perfectly fine on vista just hours prior. I tried hitting the detect button, reconnecting the monitor, and restarting. What am i doing wrong?
It might be my graphics card, im pretty sure i have a nvidia geforce 7200m gt. cant seem to find drivers for it anywhere. My computer keeps telling me all my drivers are up to date, yet my second monitor is still not recognized. this doesn't make sense. Should i just go back to vista?
Yesterday i bought new grafic card geforce GT440 after my old 9800 GT stoped functioning normaly(memory failure). So here is the problem, when I start any program or do anything the computer the computer is functioning normally, but when I turn to desktop(which has black wallpaper) the monitor goes so dark that I can't see almost nothing. I tryed to find some power saving options in windows(win 7 pro, 64 bit) and on envidia control panel but i cannot find any cause for that dark screen. Even if I load a black page on my mozilla the monitor goes dark. As it cannot represent dark colors normally.
I've been search in the internet for a while to find the NVIDIA [GeForce 8400M GT GPU] Driver. I tried the file that provided by the LaptopVideo2go.com, but it still not work.
The properties of my Laptop: Laptop model: Sony VAIO VGN-FZ17G OS: Windows 7 x64 Home Premium Display card: GeForce 8400M GT GPU
When I check the Device manger, it still recognize [Standard VGA Graphics Adapter].
I ordered a laptop with the 512 nvidia geforce 9600M Gt, but didn't check what games it should be able to run. Is it a good graphics card? good enough to play grid with graphics on high?

well yesterday I downloaded and installed windows 7 on my PC.. everything was fine until i realized that there was no aero so i went to my device admin and there was the yellow thing next to my graphic card.. i tried every driver i could, none of them worked.. can someone tell me what im doing wrong or how can i fix
I have a problem with my nVidia drivers. When I first installed Windows 7, I installed the GeForce drivers (big mistake). Then I installed the automatic update of nvidia drivers that Windows 7 downloaded. This lead to problems. I have now unistalled all drivers. Windows then looked for it's own drivers, and said they were installed. However, Aero doesn't seem to be working (all taskbars are gray).
I can't download the drivers from the nVidia site, because for some reason they haven't put the Windows 7 drivers for mobile gfx cards online. I can't download the driver via Automatic Update because Windows seems to think I already installed it. Does anybody know how I can find these drivers?
The Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 doesn't work in Windows 7. Can you give me advice on buying a new inexpensive card. I asked a Nvidia tech and he said the video card was not designed to work with Windows 7. If anyone could advise me on the latter issue I would appreciate it.

These drivers are VERY BETA, use at your own risk!
However, I have noticed a slight increase in performance (Versus the 186.18 Drivers) in the Crysis Benchmark as well as the Counter-Strike: Source stress test.
I haven't tried 3DMark or any of that jazz yet.
DOCUMENTATION FROM THE GURU3D SITE:
There's a new NVIDIA GeForce driver out on the loose and it's in fact the first series 190 driver ever. This is Forceware 190.15 The driver is available for Windows Vista 32- and 64-bit and for Windows XP 32-bit flavor is available.
Very little is known about this driver but we need to that the original .inf file shows it was targeted at Quadro cards. We replaced the index with a modified .inf files (courtesy of laptopvideo2go) making the driver compatible with all current GeForce cards.
Interesting is that the Vista / Win 7 drivers also contact 3D Stereo drivers revision 190.15, look inside the archive to spot that yourself.
These drivers are to be considered very beta and thus treated as such. You install them at your own risk, don't complain to us or NVIDIA if they do not work out for you.

my notebook is Sony vaio sz7 and I used to work with a dual monitor. But after the installation of windows seven I can`t connect my NEC monitor. i think its because of the video driver. my video adapter is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS but i can`t find a driver for 8M series for seven.
I installed Win7 in my notebook (Sony VAIO VGN-SZ691N) but i couldn't to find proper display driver to install in my notebook. My notebook display is NVIDIA GForce 8400M and also be noted that i tried to install specified driver for vista but during installation process it mentioned that it can not be support by your operation system. i Would appreciate if you can help me.
Just updated to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (from Vista Home 64bit) and installed all drivers for every little component but my graphics card is giving me serious problemsAt startup, it will about 60% of the time give me BSOD, and I apologize for no dump info but I can't find how to get it. The error code is a 0x00000116 and everything is telling me I need a new driver but I have the latest version and there are very few Nvidia drivers to choose from
OS: Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit and Windows 7 Ultimate (RC build 7100) 32bit (Dual Boot)
I'm currently having problems with my graphic card driver and the aero effects in windows 7. It wont allow me to install the driver or use the aero effects and that is a bummer for me. I really wanted to try it out.
I have Windows 7 32bit installed on an ASUS P5RD1-VM mobo with an nVidia Geforce 8500 GT graphics card.
I have tried numerous times to install the Windows 7 (32bit) Driver from manufacture site, but when it tries to install the drivers, I get an error message saying "No drivers were found that work with your device. Setup will now close."
I don't get this! I'm on that graphics card right now, in Windows 7, and typing this thread...
Also, in Device Manager, there is no "Display Adapter" listed.... I can't seem to find any evidence of a generic display driver either....
I've already solved the problem of my sound not working (SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio) and this is the last thing I need to get Windows 7 working for a REAL test run!
Nvidia GEForce 7600GT vs. Asus EN8400GS. Would the installation of the Asus 8400 be an upgrade from the 7600? Would I get better performance? 256mb memory in both.
I have recently been having a few problems with my graphics card running at a high temperature so i read a few things online on how to clean it and then i did so. Now when i start up my computer normally "start windows normally" i get blue screen and the computer re-starts. When i run dxdiag it says i have no graphics card so im not really sure if its broken or if i have re installed it incorrectly.
I am planning on finally upgrading to Windows 7, but i want to make sure my graphics card works. It is a nvidia fx5500, and i heard that there were problems with it giving BSOD and such. Can i just use windows update stuff to download the drivers and then it works, or do i have to download the vista drivers and then install them in compatibility mode, or will it give me a BSOD?
I'm using hp pavilion dv6-7012tx with 2gb nvidia geforce gt630m.when i checked for update in nvidia control panel it showed no update available.but it also showed that my driver version is some 2.3.xx & version 3.xx is available for download.what does this means?
I have been using this pc for over 2 years. In the Spring of this year the pc kept crashing. I have found out that the graphics card is reaching temperatures of 105 degrees C when playing games. I have cleaned all the fans in the pc with air. I have been told the heat sync is probably no longer functioning correctly. GPU temp is 66 deg C when the pc is in normal use and fan speed 40%. As soon as I play games the fan goes to 100% and the temperatures rise until the card crashes.
