I am trying to complete my order for a program I ordered and when I press the "complete your order" button I get this error message, "Invalid query recorded FROM IP: 98.221.136.43". I disable Norton software and tried again to order and still got this message.

Expanding files was stuck at 0% for a few minutes. So, I unplugged a single USB device and install proceeded. All readers take note of this SF learned 'fix'.
That is when I noticed that my DVD drive was spinning. I had neglected to remove the DVD after copying it to the thumb. I ejected the drive and the install interrupted.
Even though I specifically selected to boot from the thumb (via F8), I was indeed installing from the DVD. I did not recv the standard 'Press Any Key To Boot From CD/DVD'.
I am not willing to perform any tests on this at this time. A new clean install is likely in my near future as I continue to test VMs and other apps. But, I am curious. I will assume that I did not deviate from the process described above. I was neither tired nor stoned. I specifically selected to boot from the thumb.
Did Windows install see the DVD and make a jump from the thumb to the ODD?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI try to install Windows 7 on my system, but when i insert the dvd with the .ISO of windows 7 64-bit into my drive, i select boot from my DVD drive on start up, and the screen goes black, but nothing happens, and it starts my Windows XP.
Oh, and ive also re-burned the .ISO at the lowest speed, multiple times. No luck.
When I went to use my computer this morning, I received "VCGFE is compressed press ctr-alt-delete" message. I rebooted the computer, and I'm receiving the same message. I tried to go to safe mode (F8) but that didn't work.

When I click on it it says it's loading then the screen goes black and a little message pops up saying 'windows could not complete the instillation. On start up it says to press F3 for recovery, I have done that and have gone through the recovery, getting the post that windows has been installed completely, and to press ok to restart, after pressing okay, the computer restarts and I get the "Disk read error, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart again. I have ordered a recovery disk from the manufacturer, but I don't have warm fuzzys that it will correct the issue.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had Vista 64x and Windows 7 build 7057 set up in a dual boot with Windows 7 on a 30Gb partition.
Acting on advice in another thread I decide to shrink my Vista partition and expand my Windows 7 partition using GParted.
That seemed to go ok and I shrank Vista partition to about 400GB and expanded the Windows 7 partition to about a 100GB.
However, I now cannot boot at all. When I try I get "A disk read error occurred. press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart".
When I try this nothing happens and I have to do a power shutdown.
I have attempted repairs using my Vista disk and that tells me nothing is wrong. Likewise I tried repair with my Windows 7 disk with the same result. Both tell me that the system booted succesfully.
I then tried reinstalling both Vista and Windows 7 to their respective partitions and I still get no boot and a Disk read error message.
I have been in the BIOS and tried every boot device option but still nowhere.
I'm writing this from the Asus Splashtop OS that came with my mobo. I thought it was a bit of a gimmick but it might just save me now!
I have an Acer Aspire 5732Z here. A friend of mine had a disk in the disk drive and said that he opened the tray and the disk was no longer there, but actually inside the laptop. He managed to get the disk out but it went fully into the laptop. He did all of this while the laptop was still turned on. I dunno whether it turned off itself or he turned it off after that, but now it constantly comes up with A disk error has occured press ctrl + alt + del to restart on boot upI have downloaded ubuntu and placed it on a disk, and booted the disk up using F12, it goes to a purple screen for a bit, then goes to a black screen and doesn't do anything else

When I try to backup, no matter what the files or destination drive, I get the error "the backup did not complete successfully" during the "creating volume shadow copy" phase. When "troubleshooting options" pops up, it says "The requested system device cannot be found" and gives error code 0x80073BC3.
It worked until recently, I have no idea what caused the problem I haven't updated my hardware or anything.

It was working fine and I turned it on today and the message: "A disk read error has ocurred Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart" appeared on the screen. Pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del just reboots but the same message appears again. F8 won't get me anywhere. Only F9 (Boot Device Order) and F10 (BIOS settings) are available but don't fix anything. There is no way to make it boot or even get to a repair screen or past it. Any suggestions to make it boot so at least I can get to the data and back it up?

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy friend just called me up with the error in the topic title, that happened on his Lenovo G550.I've searched for a solution, but all I've seen is "run a data recovery" or "reinstall Windows 7" type of answers.I wouldn't be comfortable opening his computer up.I'm not sure how I would run recovery mode in BIOS or run a simple check for all the Windows 7 necessary files as it doesn't even boot up. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen attempting to backup a system image and/or selected libraries or files on an OEM installation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, I am receiving an error message. The initial pop-up states: The Last Backup Did Not Complete Successfully When I click on the pop-up to check the backup and select �More Details,� I see the following message. The System cannot find the file specified Error Code: 0x80070002 No additional information is provided. (And no clue is provided regarding what �file� is not found.) While I am attempting to backup to an external hard drive connected via eSATA, this error also occurs when I attempt a backup to either an external USB drive or a DVD.
I have attempted to run various backup scenarios wherein [a] Windows selects what to backup, [b] I choose a system image only, [c] I choose libraries only, or [d] I choose a very small data directory in a directory outside of the libraries. The error is always the same. When the system image is included, the backup does run for a time before the error message occurs � and a significant amount of data is written to the drive. When I run a file-only backup, the error is almost instantaneous. So far, in attempting to resolve the problem I have taken the following steps (although not necessarily in this order): Confirmed the registry profiles image paths are accordance with the information found at: The Storage Team at Microsoft - File Cabinet Blog : Common causes and solutions to Backup, System Restore, and Complete PC Backup problems - updated!. No success. Reviewed the information at Error code 0x80070002 when you back up files in Windows 7 however the scenarios did not apply and therefore the solutions were not available to me. Checked the error logs at C:WindowsLogsWindowsBackup, but the error log is empty . Ran a Clean Boot via msconfig.exe Attempted to run Backup in Safe Mode, but of course Backup & Restore cannot be run in safe mode, even if I try to start the services manually (Error 1084). View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been messing around with Ubuntu and other OS's and after I installed Ubuntu on a 5gb partition, I realized that is way too small, so I went into Windows, opened up Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) and just deleted the volume. Well now I have a green partition and when I try to delete the partition, I get the error "There is not enough space available on the disk(s) to complete this operation" I am doing this all on my internal hard dive in my laptop.
