Error Code 0x80070424 With Windows Firewall And Windows Defender

Recently I was trying to allow access to one of my programs in firewall, firewall says it needs to switch to default settings, so I click it, it shows "Windows Firewall can't change some of your settings. Error code 0x80070424. Ive looked for a long time trying to find a solution, and from what ive gathered, I have malware (that I might have got rid of) that might have deleted these (they do not exist in the services list), but I am not positive

My PC has been infected by some kind of virus that keeps coming back even after my anti virus has removed it(persistent). how to remove the virus and I ran into one of bleepingcomps tuts. It told me to run combofix, so I run it. And after I reboot the virus is gone. But then I checked my firewall and it showed the error.
i randomly checked my firewall because suddenly i couldn't download anything from the web on any web browser,and it says to update firewall setting but i get this error.
Recently had a virus infection and noticed that the windows firewall service is missing. When trying to reset to recommended settings by using control panel received error code 0x80070424. Cannot access other computers or shared files/folders on home network. Saw a previous post dated 12-17 that appears to be the same problem.
get that message constantly. have done just about everything and problem still there.have action center and it says security center service is off, don't have that on my control panel.
restoring Windows Firewall and Defender. I am running Windows 7 64 Bit. A few weeks ago I was infected by a trojan called "System Progressive protection". I used an uninstall guide for removal but I am unable to enable Windows Firewall and Defender. I get Error 0x800070424 whenever I try to open either Windows Firewall and Defender. I am currently using anti-virus software provided by my internet service provider, but I would still like the option of having Windows Firewall and Defender available to me.
i checked my firewall and it was off and so was windows defender and before that i couldn't download anything no matter what browser i use, i get error codes trying to turn the firewall and defender.so i scanned my PC with Microsoft safety scanner it it found hacktool win32/keygen it said that it was only partially removed,is there a way to remove it.
I am having problems getting firewall to stay running, when try to start get 1079 code, need this to run in order to install wireless program for HP printer. Tried many options including running malware and virus programs. Maybe need to reinstall drivers for this? Will that be a complete reinstall or can it be only the drivers for the firewall,,,is it a driver issue at all?
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, now when i go to Control Panel and then to Windows Firewall I notice that it is turned off with box saying " update your Firewall settings " use "recommended settings " so I click on it and then I get a message coming up saying " WINDOWS FIREWALL CAN'T CHANGE SOME OF YOUR SETTINGS. I've installed a VNC client by Jaadu both on my win 7 64 system & my iPhone.
Everything went smoothly until I applied the FreeSSHd encryption program.
When I try to connect with the computer the iphone gets this error:
Connection Error:
connection refused. You may have a firewall blocking access. Please check your connection settings & try again.
Now FreeSSHd has forums, but for some reason I get get past the challenge textbox. I've tried several times with different browers. It just wont let me post a question there.
I've looked in the firewall section in the control panel, but I dont see anything about FreeSSHd to enable?
It ran in safe mode with networking so I was able to email all of the files I wanted WHEW! That was until today and now it won't load to any screen except for the screen that gives you the choice to repair, or to run windows normally. Either one brings me to the login screen but the login never comes up. The screen just sits there with the mouse. I have a dell inspiron, that we purchased 1 year and 1 month ago ergh! This means that the warranty is out. I have read so many forums, and tried to launch repair and it just won't do it. Dell won't send me a new recovery disk because I don't have the warranty anymore, but rather as others have stated Dell states that it is the hard drive as an easy answer. I don't believe it. Why does it load in safe mode, well except for today? I just need my laptop to be working. It is a life line in my house. From the things I have read on here it could be a virus or malware issue that is corrupting the boot sector. But I don't know what else to do about repairing it. The installation cds are not working. I have used f8 to load from the disk drive and it got to the starting set up and stopped.

I am running windows 7 OS. Updates are available, however when I try to update all updates install except one for Security. Net framework and I get an error 643. It suggested installing windows update readiness installer, which I did, but I get the same error.
This has been going on for a couple of weeks. Every time I shut down my laptop, it TRIES to Update. I finally realized that something is wrong. I went into the Update folder in Control Panel and looked at the "update history" to find that every time I shut down, the update attempts have "failed".The error code is 66A. In the last few months I have been getting error messages in my Yahoo mail account. It will not go to next email and returns an 'Error Code 5' or recently an 'Error Code 15'. I get a message that says " Windows skipped backing up system image because one of the critical volumes is not having enough free space. Free up some space by deleting unnecessary files and try again."I am trying to back up to a external HD with 163 GB free out of 232 GB. I have been to windows answers and they have nothing but suggestions that are way over my head. Each moderator has a different solution, it appears that MS is aware of this problem but does not have a cure. How is one supposed to create a backup and restore.
