My setup: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, Gmail. Messages from another computer using Thunderbird are received as attachments(I don't know why). First I have to download them, which is a royal pain. No matter what I use to read them I get the html looking stuff. Gmail is working fine as long as the messages are not from Thunderbird. Everything else on my puter seems to be working ok.

I am trying to get a mail account working using BT - hae doubled checked the settings as per TBird's instructions - mail is being delivered but when I try to send it asks for authentication as below.An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Authentication required. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again.I have tried to verify that everything is entered correctly but do not seem to be able to get around this.

I expected after the transfer that the data would be in the right places - like my favorites would be in Firefox in the bookmarks - nope they are not there. I knew it sounded too easyso what do I do now? I have backup of the important data like my favorites, my email folders, Word documents and I did the transfer by windows easy transfer. I downloaded an application that allowed me to increase the size of the fonts in the listing. However, the messages are still small. I tried setting the options to a larger font but that did not work. Two questions: Is there some way to increase the size of the text in both the email list and the messages. Two, can I just remove the new version and download an earlier version of Thunderbird. I don't know what version I was using, but I was perfectly satisfied with it.

OK, I have OE on an XP computer. I have Thunderbird on a Windows 7 computer. I can export my OE address book to a flashdrive. But Thunderbird does not let me specify the path of the OE address book.

I acquired an Avira anti virus premium on 30 day approval basis, firefox browser and Thunderbird email. All was well until the Thunderbird email suddenly swallowed all my emails and permanently deleted them automatically before my eyes.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a dual boot with windows XP SP3 and windows 7 and I might just say that windows 7 is very nice. I am trying to setup thunderbird and would like to transfer all my profile settings/emails/local emails to the windows 7 thunderbird. It doesn't seem to be working.
There are 2 different locations on windows 7 for the thunderbird profile
c:users*username*AppDataRoaming hunderbirdprofile
and
c:users*username*AppDataLocal hunderbirdprofile
But only one on windows xp
c:documents and settings*username*Application Data thunderbird profile
If I copy the profile folder from xp to both locations on windows 7 it wont work, or just one location on windows 7 same thing.
I wish to move email messages from one Windows 7 computer to another using easy transfer. Can someone tell me exactly what I need to tick to do this? The 'new' computer already has Windows Live Mail in use.
