I've been trying for a week to do this, but no luck. I can't find a way to transfer from WindowsMail to Thunderbird in Windows 7.
Every time I try to import, it doesn't work. I downloaded an AdOn for Thunderbird, as recomended on various sites, but that didn't work in Vista or Windows 7.
I have a dual boot with windows XP SP3 and windows 7 and I might just say that windows 7 is very nice. I am trying to setup thunderbird and would like to transfer all my profile settings/emails/local emails to the windows 7 thunderbird. It doesn't seem to be working.
There are 2 different locations on windows 7 for the thunderbird profile
c:users*username*AppDataRoaming hunderbirdprofile
and
c:users*username*AppDataLocal hunderbirdprofile
But only one on windows xp
c:documents and settings*username*Application Data thunderbird profile
If I copy the profile folder from xp to both locations on windows 7 it wont work, or just one location on windows 7 same thing.
Anybody know how to secure sync Thunderbird contact. Like Firefox sync type?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using Thunderbird for my e-mail account. Somehow, Thunderbird was updated to 10.0. Now my e-mail texts are so small that I can barely read them. I downloaded an application that allowed me to increase the size of the fonts in the listing. However, the messages are still small. I tried setting the options to a larger font but that did not work. Two questions: Is there some way to increase the size of the text in both the email list and the messages. Two, can I just remove the new version and download an earlier version of Thunderbird. I don't know what version I was using, but I was perfectly satisfied with it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy setup: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, Gmail. Messages from another computer using Thunderbird are received as attachments(I don't know why). First I have to download them, which is a royal pain. No matter what I use to read them I get the html looking stuff. Gmail is working fine as long as the messages are not from Thunderbird. Everything else on my puter seems to be working ok.

Any subfolders created under Inbox to organize all the mail I have suddenly disappeared. The mail can be accessed through the Search function, but the folders are gone. I've seen two backup plans here for Thunderbird--1) use Mozbackup, and 2) copy the entire Thunderbird folder in the AppData folder. Does anyone have an idea on which method is more reliable, or are both plans equally reliable? I'm way too chicken to test both.

All was well until the Thunderbird email suddenly swallowed all my emails and permanently deleted them automatically before my eyes.

i was going to check my email, Thunderbird is set to automatically update on start if there are any updates.So it started updating and all off a sudden all shortcut icon images disappeared! At the time i was to tired to fix the problem but as soon as i woke up today i have done nothing but trying to fix it. The only thing i have changed with my icons are the icon images. But that was for 8 months ago and i have never had any problems with it.This is what the taskbar should look like. This is what it looks like now. Also all other shortcuts in my computer have had their images changed to "this".... The only icons in the taskbar that are not affected are the ones that are not shortcuts, but exe files.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI used to use Outlook with Vista. Within Outlook before I did a clean install of Windows 7 I saved all my existing emails and address books. I saved them to disk.
I did a clean/custom install of Windows 7 from a upgrade disk. I now have installed Thuderbird and have in up and running with my emails accounts. But now needs to Import my old Outlook emails and address books from DISK into Thunderbird.
As I go into Import in Thunderbird and choose import from file it is not findingmy files on disk or letting me inport from my disk. The other options are import from Outlook, which I no longer have since I did a clean install.
I do have Vista in my C drive as an "old" OS file. get the emails and address imported into Thunderbird from my disk file.
I have tried to install Thunderbird but it will only show my last message and wont import my address book etc from windows live mail.

I would like to transfer my email files from Thunderbird version 16 to Outlook 2010, which I have now.
Is there a simple way to do this? I have about 4 to 5 gig of email data. Of course it would be too easy, but I don't see an "Import from Thunderbird" option anywhere...
