View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen attempting to Forward an email, Outlook will open a recent message from the Sent Items folder, instead of opening the desired message in draft view to be forwarded. The message that Outlook decides to open is not related to the desired email thread.I have:
-Run the Microsoft Office Repair;
-Removed and re-installed MS Office;
-Run ScanPst on all Archives;
-Disabled cached exchange mode, cleared the cache, re-enabled;
-Removed additional personal IMAP email accounts from Outlook.
This PC is a Dell Optiplex 755 Small Form Factor with Core 2 Duo and 2GB RAM.About a month ago the Hard Drive was predicted to fail, so I created a Windows Image from the Windows backup utility, swapped in a new hard drive, and applied the Image.I tried searching the issue, but Google could not provide any help on such an obscure issue but with terms common to other problems.
why can i not send attachments on regular aol email ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot print .gif email attachments (text, not image). The print spooler shuts down and I have to go through the exercice of deleting all files in the printers folder and restarting the spooler before I can print any other file type. It happens every time. I think these files were sent by i-phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 professional on a Dell laptop. Gmail will not upload or send/forward email with any attachments. Receiving no problem. PC is plugged into ethernet, has Norton Internet Security 2011. Temp files and cookies have been cleared. Gmail works fine on home pc, same account. Interestingly enough, Hotmail works just fine on laptop.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAs above, if a user opens say a Word document which is an attachment on a web-based mail system like hotmail or outlook live and the user then just clicks SAVE, the document is saved to a temporary location.
We have lots of users who are doing this and then finding that they have lost there work etc as they have assumed it was saving to a network drive or even back to the attachment (yes I know thats wrong, but students don't always know till its too late).
So my question is, is there any way of getting Word to prompt them to save the document to somewhere when they click SAVE, rather than save it in a temp area under the temporary files area on the C: drive??
Is it possible to do with a Group Policy setting or any other way round not saving the doc in temp area and forcing the user to choose the location.
I changed appropriate permissions and copied the windows mail folder from vista to Windows 7. It worked great and I thought all was well till I got an email with an attachment .eml. The error was the classic "windows cannot open this file.. . no program is associated" etc., message. I saved the .eml attachment to desktop, created the association to winmail.exe, and double clicked it. It opened winmail, in the same manner as though I had just clicked the short cut to winmail.exe. Without opening the .eml attachment.
I've also replaced Windows 7's msoe.dll with Vista's, again to no avail.
Also as I'm searching around, I'm running into "wisperings" of the possible need to keep a copy of Vista functional so that I can download windows mail updates to install in windows 7.
It may just prove to be not worth the hassle. It's a shame. I LIKED O.E., settled for Windows Mail, and am disgusted with Windows Live Mail!!
People send me photos, documents, etc with the attachments and Im unable to open them. When I click on them, it tries to open with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007 / enter a Product key. I dont have that program installed. The people who are sending me these things dont have the program either. How can I set it to open in a different program?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm not computer savvy but I can follow directions pretty well. Recently, I've discovered I cannot open any Zip files from my computer. I get an Adobe Acrobat error message saying I cannot open file because it is either not supported or file is damaged. This message comes up every time I try to open a zip file, no matter the source. I suspect it may be a default association problem based on the research I have done but I don't know how to correct the issue. As I said, I don't know a lot about operating systems.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last week I have received on a daily basis an email on my Windows Live Hotmail address, warning me that my mailbox is almost full Not so.Also there is no tick on the option to keep a copy on the server.So it looks like a scam or an attempt to introduce a virus.However; there is no invitation to click onto any link - except the one to add it to my safe senders list.
