Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Crashing At Startup?

So I got my new PC all built up and set today, and start running some games on it, to find that Oblivion was crashing immediately after the intro sequence (right before the main screen that allows you to select new game, load, etc.).Bioshock runs fine, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare runs fine, I seem to be having trouble with older games (Oblivion and Doom 3, though Doom 3 I can atleast play).
I am running:
Windows Seven Proffesional 64 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8600
5 Gigs of Ram
Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX
Compatibility Mode with Windows XP Service Pack 3
*Oblivion has been updated to the latest version (1.204 or something like that)

My Oblivion Mods Keep Crashing i will spend 2hours on them and they will run fine but when spend about 7 hours on them always crash even if i let my pc have a rest ( I make the mods my self). I have an 21inch iMac with an 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB Of RAM DDR 3, 1TB, ATI Radeon HD 4670 256MB. I am running on windows 7 (BootCamp) I have all lastest Drives and patches for my computer and oblivion And i HAVE REINSTALLED IT AND STILL NO LUCK.

I recently built a new pc and I'm having some issues with Windows 7 which seems to freeze on start up. By this I mean at the "Starting Windows" screen the animation will start but will freeze after a couple of seconds. It usually takes me about 3 restarts to then get into windows. I haven't been using Windows Repair tool because the restore deletes all of the programmes that I've put on and the crashing continues to happen despite the changes. I'll list my specs below:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
ASRock Pro3 Gen3 Z68
Intel Core i5 2500k currently @ stock speed
Gigabyte 560Ti OC
OCZ ZS 550w
8GB DDR3 Crucial Ballistix 1600mhz
Kingston HyperX 120gb SSD (Boot Drive)
Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue (Overflow Drive)
I don't think the SSD is the problem because when I did the install on the WD HDD I still had the instability and the crashes.The drivers I have installed are: Realtek LAN drivers, Nvidia 500 series Graphics, Nvidia HD Audio and all of the "Important" Windows 7 updates.

My computer is loading up to the point the windows logo starts to flash before changing over to the chose user screen and then just frezing. I have tried runing the boot fix and it came up as unable to repair, i have tried restoring to most recent restore point and got the same problem. Has no issue booting into safe mode.
Am currently trying updating NVIDIA drivers to see if that fixes problem

My brand new computer I just built is crashing and restarting without a reason I can find. My System health report won't be very accurate because I need to run OCCT stress test in the background to slow down the amount of times it crashes.
I have run memtest for 12 hours - No errors.
My CPU is cooled by a H100 - temps never go above 40c even under load.
CPU - i5 - 2500k
MOBO - Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
PSU - Antec 750w
Even on a fresh install it will crash during the setup phase, like where you put in product code and username. Leading me to think its a Hardware issue.

Why is my screen scrolling down to the bottom? I have Windows 7 installed. Aside from this, when i click anywhere on the desktop, the icon on the rightmost corner is clicked even if I didn't click on it. when i run a program too it blinks.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate on a Dell Inspiron 1545. I have had this laptop approximately 3.5 years and have never had a problem until we returned from vacation a few weeks ago. I shut down my perfectly working computer and came back to beeping and auto-scroll. I have run virus scanners, registry cleaners, driver scanners, and pc cleaners and have yet to fix this problem. There is no pattern to the beeping, It will beep anywhere from 2-5 times at the Dell logo screen and then continually for approximately 100+ beeps at the Windows start screen before booting normally. OKay, so this week oblivion was on sale for 5 bucks on steam and im like sure, why not, because my xbox game broke forever ago. I purchase it and install it and when i try and start it up and press play in the launcher, it says, "Oblivion has stopped working". I can't get it to work. What I don't get is that I can run Skyrim on maximum graphic settings.

I'm running windows 7 64 bit and well.. After going past the first screen - you know the little one, where you can choose how you want to load it and such - well if i choose to load it in a window it doesn't load. I click play and a small black box quickly comes on and off the screen and then nothing happens. And if i highlight the icon on the taskbar it shows a picture of oblivion working fine. But its not working on my screen.

I've been having trouble with Oblivion for awhile now and wanted to reinstall. The game used to run fine, but recently the disc was having trouble being read and now will not register with my computer at all. This issue is unique to my computer (the disc works fine for others) and my other games are running in top shape.
What's more, I cannot uninstall the game from my computer using the prompt in the loading menu, as I get an error message saying "Oblivion Launcher cannot find the uninstall program. Run Setup.exe on the install disc to uninstall." The Add/Remove programs in my control panel does nothing, though I can still run uninstallation of the official added content (Orrery, Vile Lair, etc.).
I am currently running no mods on Oblivion. I planned to use Revo Uninstaller Pro, but my free 30 days has run out and I can't afford the program. How does one uninstall a program that cannot be uninstalled using a disc that cannot be read?

I have Oblivion installed, and occasionally the game will crash, as most modern, complex RPGs will do. However, Win7's Action Center pops up and tells me:A newer version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is available for download that might solve this problem. Bethesda Softworks LLC. recommends updating to the latest version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion to take advantage of security and stability improvements.First, the link provided is a dead-end. Second, the game is already updated to the very last iteration provided by Bethesda - 1.2.0416. I also have the UOP and related DLC-patches installed, which might be why Win7 seems.

I bought Oblivion through the Gamestop app about a month ago. It's been working fine and I've put about 35 hours into it Then today it started being weird- the screen goes black when I try to load my game. I tried opening it several times and it kept doing the same thing. You know how you hold down the "down" key and it scrolls down on a page? mine just suddenly quit doing that.. i held down "down" key and it only scrolls like 1cm (you know what i mean).. and as i was typing, it would miss out letters if i were to type"qwertyuiop" normally, it would type "qwtyp".. something like that.. did a restart and problem was gone.. why did that happen and how can i prevent it? or is it time to do a refund / return/ exchange?

i used to get the BSOD very often so i decided to recover the system to the initial state . i did that and everything was fine , then i updated the windows 7 service pack 1 and finished the installation and rebooted my computer , the start-up at least took half an hour at that time and the service pack 1 installation showed "not successful " i tried to again to update the service pack1 which showed 73.6mb - 892.6mb so i updated it again and again the same thing happened.

I have a Dell Inspiron and a while ago I shut down my PC and the next morning I was faced with options to repair my computer. It hung on the screen for ages before it actually came up with startup repair and supposedly fixed the problem. A few days later, everything got very slow and started to freeze a lot and before long, booting the computer got very slow as well as it hung for about ten minutes on a black screen after the 'welcome' screen before finally starting up. I decided to reinstall the operating system (I did NOT reformat the C drive), so I borrowed my Grandma's external hard drive and copied my files. After reinstalling using a Dell Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium Re-Installation DVD, I copied and deleted the files off the external hard drive onto my PC (I didn't know it would create a Windows.old folder) and started installing programs. Then I left it overnight to install quite a big program. This morning, somehow it had turned off. I turned it on and it gave me the safe mode options and a 'start windows normally' option. I chose the latter and after typing my password it hung on the welcome screen again. I left it for ages and it just went back to the user login screen again. I pressed the red button in the corner to shut it down but it just hung once again on an empty screen so I did a hard shutdown (held down the power button). I turned it on again...startup repair. It gave me the option for system restore, which I did (then realising when it finished that I hadn't made a backup). I booted it, and again it wouldn't start properly. At this time, safe mode booted fine. After trying various things (even using a compressed air can to get rid of dust) and a few hard shutdowns, suddenly every option from the advanced boot menu took me to startup repair except 'Repair your Computer' which gave the normal options for repair (although now it only gives me 2, Startup Repair and DataSafe Restore and Emergency Backup. Now when I do startup repair, some times it says it has fixed the problem, and sometimes it says it cannot be fixed automatically and gives me information on the problem (a few things it said were: 'StartupRepairOffline', 'AutoFailover' and 'CorruptRegistry').
I can't reinstall my computer because then I would lose my precious files.
Is there some way I can save my files and reinstall or even just save my files somehow or am I screwed?

My hp dv3t has been giving a message about checking a disk for consistency every time I reboot(ed) for about a week now, but today it froze after the countdown reaches zero (for bypassing the procedure)�nothing I do can get it past this step. Trying to disable some of the bloatware that came with my HP G62, as well as disable unneeded auto-updates, and have been blocked from doing so.Ran msconfig, startup entries... Unchecked, hit "apply" and they just become checked again. (Ran as administrator on admin account)Tried "Tuneup Utilities." Going back and clicking on the Standard User icon gets me running for the most part. Here's the BIG problem. Every time I try to install any program, the User Account Control box drops down and asks for the Administrator Password, plus the question,"Do you want to allow the following programs to make changes to your computer?" You click "Yes", but, since no one is in the Administrator office, your installation comes to a halt. This blocks "Install" and "Uninstall". I get lots of messages I need Adobe Flash Player. I've trie over and again to install it, going to Windows 32 bit, but can't uninstall my previous tries. It will always download, and that's all. I've tried to install my digital camera's CD, but can't.

the Startup screen. So I went to the Startup repair tool as was recommended, but after few tries nothing has changed. So I tried to recover to previous recovery point, but also nothing. Then I tried booting to Safe mode, and I saw that during the loading process there was no file shown as succesfully loaded. I might also know what could be the cause of this problem, because yesterday when I was shutting Win down, there was a blackout so obviusly some files are corrupted.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
I have CPU-Z, Hardware Monitor Pro and Resource Monitor shortcuts in the startup folder.
If I go to MSCONFIG I can see that the items are there to be started during startup.
What am I doing wrong that will not allow these programs to start up?

I hate it when this happens and so far, the startup repair has always been able to fix the problem. Today, I'm not so lucky.
I'm using my other built right now coz I have to work. I don't remember what updates I did last night but I do remember the dvd drive firmware was updated.I popped in the system restore disc, start it up and the same page appears: Start with windows start up or Start windows normally. Tried both and neither one of them would bring up system restore. This built was only a month old and was hardly used so far so no system restore point was created at this point. I have files in it that I would like to keep but I can't get to them right now so a clean fresh install is needed but I can't get it up.

Recently my computer has been crashing an awful lot. I am just doing a task and, usually if it does, it will cut to black. The computer doesn't make any noise and I have to restart it. Sometimes it will freeze on the screen, once it actually cut to a completely white screen.I always thought this was because I was using Google Chrome, it always seemed to be whilst that was loaded. However now its happening without that. Also, Firefox has become completely disabled, I click on the icon and nothing happens.So, I have no idea why this is happening! It's very worrying as I am starting a new year at college next week. I have run several anti-virus checks, SpyBot checks, that sort of thing.
