Action Center - Update To Oblivion That Is Already Installed?
Feb 27, 2012
I have Oblivion installed, and occasionally the game will crash, as most modern, complex RPGs will do. However, Win7's Action Center pops up and tells me:A newer version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is available for download that might solve this problem. Bethesda Softworks LLC. recommends updating to the latest version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion to take advantage of security and stability improvements.First, the link provided is a dead-end. Second, the game is already updated to the very last iteration provided by Bethesda - 1.2.0416. I also have the UOP and related DLC-patches installed, which might be why Win7 seems.
After a new build (my first build), I'm getting a whole host of problems. Ran okay for a few days & this is just one problem of many. I have the action centre enabled in my task bar & it just popped up to tell me that I need to install my video card driver. Not sure what the problem is, my gpu is showing up on Speccy & mypcdrivers so not sure if it just needs ignoring or whether it's *another* issue with this build.
I am using kis 2009 on Windows 7 but I have one message and I am not sure what's the meaning....The message is on picture...so if someone have this problem please report it..
I have a Toshiba laptop. Windows 7 operating system. It has a windows "Action Center". I do use the Defender and McAfee.
I was infected a couple of days ago by the Win 7 Security virus. I installed (from a clean computer) and ran the Malwarebytes and Superantispyware over and over again until it was clean.
I noticed my "action Center" seems to not be working. Can't even run the Defender, I get an error message of 0x80070424. I used to get the Windows updates automatically, and that appears to have stopped (although I can manually click "windows update" and get them that way. Oh, and the little white flag that would be in the lower right hand corner is missing (telling me of any problems or messages).
I checked my bitlocker in the services.msc and found it is checked to manual. Is that correct? What can I do to get this back working? Or am I still infected?
the flag disappears particularly if explorer restarts .i have it set to show icons and notifications ,the funny thing is it does the same on the laptop(currently using desktop)occasionally i can get it back by opening Godmode folder but this is a nuisance and not always successful. on the laptop last night i performed a system restore to a point when it was ok ,it didnt work also ran sfc/scannow ,the flag came back but on reboot it was gone again.
Action Center alerts says that Norton reports that it is turned off and a second one that Windows and Nort6on firewalls are turned off. When I check they are actually on! There is no date information when these alerts were generated and I can't find anywhere to reset the alert or acknowledge it so I don't have the little red X on the flag saying i should check it. I don't want to turn off the alert for these alerts. Of course there is a fundamental question of why the alert is there but until I can determine iof it is a current alert or not I don't know where to start, If I do turn off those alerts then turn them back on, they are still there! Where to reset the alert?
During my bluetooth nightmare i have had 4 messages pop up telling me something isnt working right. these bloody messages are stuck on my screen and i cant get rid of them. Its the white box with the open action center link at the bottom.
Of course a re boot works but thats just stupid, i should be able to dismiss the pop ups. As it is windows cant fix it so its cath 22.
Anyone know what the process is i can kill? End task doesn't work.
I have avast installed on here, but the AC has "solve 1 important message". The AV. Now granted all the talk about how soon ppl think 7 will get out, no way jose is what i say, if they cant even fix small problems with the OS as to recognize it has an AV installed on it. MS has more work ahead of them
anyone else running avast or other AV run into this message?
Also too mention, i find it funny about the (only) 4 particular AV MS advertises for, especially when i've seen and heard problems with Norton and avg
Pls dont give an answer to this thread of how to turn off msg, i know.
I have a HP Laptop high end pavilion and it does the blue screen crash at various times and I cant track down why ie: disc installed, usb ports used etc..The blue screen says its a hardware issue and I have not changed any hardware, its still under warranty. I just have the current updates. When it reboots is says it will look for a reason why it crashed but then nothing..
I had a malware that I got rid of, but it deleted many parts of the registry.I was able to find the missing parts and recover them. Only thing still not working is the action center icon in the taskbar. In the system icon activation screen, the action center activate/deactivate option is greyed out. I checked with gpedit.msc, but nothing is set there. I also tried sfc/scannow but it does not recreate missing registry parts.
I just got a new PC yesterday with Win7. The Windows Action Center keeps popping up with a warning asking that I "Choose a Windows Update option." I select "Install Updates automatically," but the Windows Action Center does not remember my selection and then about an hour later will pop back up with the same warning.
I'm not sure this is the right place to post, but, I get a message on start up to turn on action center, this was on before, I think I may have disabled it, and I don't know how to reset it.
I just got this computer last week with Windows 7 already installed on it. I am finding that the choice I make for how to receive automatic updates will get changed to Never Update. I am new to Windows 7 as my old computer had XP, so this Action Center is new to me, and it is getting annoying having to constantly change the settings for my windows updates.
Action Centre keeps reporting that my Bull-guard Firewall is turned off. When I check BullGuard is on & working OK. How do I stop this annoyance without turning off the action centre?
Is it possible to use Server 2008 R2, a Windows 7 workstation, or some software to collect the events logged in the Action Center on our Windows 7 clients? Also, is it possible to collect the events logged in the Reliability Monitor (View reliability history) from our Windows 7 clients.I am interested in aggregating this information in a central location i.e. on a server/workstation, which our administrators have access to. Is this possible when using System Center Configuration Manager? A smaller scale solution would be preferred as we only have around 120 clients.
Everytime I create a Restore Point, I notice that "Generic Volume Shadow copy" is listed in the Action center. Should I be concerned? I don't remember seeing that listing before.I have a done a couple of System Restore points but none of them show up in the action center as "Generic volume shadow copy."
My wife has a two month old Lenovo ideapad with Windows 7. We are now getting alerts that the D partition is near full. Is this system taking multipul backups of the harddrive C and storing them all? What are my best options to have a safe backup, but not overloading the D partition? I do see in; Computer>System>Device Manager>Disk Drives>D Drive General tab that there are two options at the bottom. option one, (not checked in my case) "Compress this drive to save disk space". Option two, (checked) "Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties" If this system is saving a snapshot of D over and over, it will only be a matter of time when option one will be overcome. SO, I would think that there has to be a setting that will let partition D delete older backups...right?
Would it be a combination of selecting option one and changing a setting that would enable older backups to be automaticaly removed?
A while ago this afternoon I was reinstalling all of my programs back after formatting and the power went out while the setup was in progress. Now when I try to install again I get this message:This is getting seriously frustrating, what can I do?
The network is connected and working fine (well not fine, but will get there).Bat the Network and Sharing Center is not recognizing that it is connected or that there even is a NIC installed.I can surf the net and connect to other computers, but, any program that depends on the information from that specific component Seams to not be able to connect (IE Logmein) and also I'm unable to configure my network as a "work network" so I had to remove the windows firewall so I will be able to connect 2 my SQL server and network shares from other computers on the company's network.Solutions I have already tried:1.Reinstall NIC driver from gigabyte website.2.Install Realtek Ethernet Diagnostic Utility3.Installed FixItCenter from Microsoft.4.Netsh winsock reset (As admin)[CODE]
i am using windows 7 ultimate x86. if i tried to open any installed programs then it opens windows media center only. please resolve this issue as soon as early.
I was trying to remove some malware "Win 7 Home Security 2011 - Unregistered Version" and I noticed that I cannot turn on Windows Security Center Service. When I click "Turn on Now" button I get an error box "The Windows Security Center service can't be started." I am running McAfee & Malwarebytes. When I execute "sc qc wscsvc" from the command prompt I get "The specified service does not exist as an installed service" .OpenService Failed 1060. Can I reinstall Windows Security Center?
When I open up my control panel > System & Security then click "Windows Update" the control Panel freezes and stays that way. I have to ctrl+alt+delete to end it and wait a few seconds for windows to restart.
I don't really use Media Center much but everynight around 2:30 am my PC wakes up after it has been put in sleep mode. I finally tracked the culprit down in the evnt viewer to be the media center update causing it to wake up. Is there a way to turn MC auto updating off?
So when I try to watch recorded TV programs or watch videos. I get an error what says: Video error files needed to display video are not installed or not working correctly. Please restart Media Center and/or restart the computer. I have restart both. Not work. I have read several forums and update drivers and uninstall drivers and do everything what there has been. But nothing. I have Windows 7 (32-bit), Ati Radeon HD 5670 1gb video card, 4000gb ram, AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ 2.1 ghz (maybe) 2 CPU's. Its been working before and im not do any big changes to my computer. Only thing what i do is that I installed Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas.
These 2 updates are in Windows update awaiting to install.Once (and it wasn't at first install) there was an error message and i deleted some files as directed by MS help page. Now they are always in the Windows update page, I install, no error, they are still there.
OKay, so this week oblivion was on sale for 5 bucks on steam and im like sure, why not, because my xbox game broke forever ago. I purchase it and install it and when i try and start it up and press play in the launcher, it says, "Oblivion has stopped working". I can't get it to work. What I don't get is that I can run Skyrim on maximum graphic settings.
