View 1 Replies View RelatedI read a few forums about this issue but mine's different. It doesn't crash or display any error while gaming. It happens when i'm on the desktop exploring. If don't do anything it wont display the error, however, when i start to right click on desktop, it flickers and displays the error "Nvidia Windows Kernel Driver mode driver has stopped responding and recovered" something link that. This also happens when a window is active like when i'm on the Control Panel Window (don't know with other windows, haven't tried yet), It flickers every 10 - 30 secs and display the error. After a few hours of researching and troubleshooting i think finally fixed it by putting the "Peformance Settings to Best Performance". I don't know what caused this. It didnt happen to me before. My Peformance settings was always set to Best appearance until now. Anyone knows the fix to this error? I don't like the appearance set to Best Peformance, it looks like Windows 98 If you experience similar errors like mine, try setting your Performance settings to Best Peformance and post comments here if it works[CODE]
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a "refurbished" Dell Optiplex GX 620. When I turned it on everything worked fine until it rebooted after an automatic Microsoft update was installed. Now I have no sounds. According to the Device Manager "Your sound card is not working properly because a compatible driver is not available for this version of Windows." (I'm running Win7). My sound card is a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. I have tried several SoundMAX drivers (found online) that said they were compatible but they don't work either.

ATI Catalyst 9.1 Vista driver 32 or 64bit should work with an X1950, the 64bit worked for me and I have seen on another site that the 32bit is working also.
Since making this post others have pointed out that the 9.2 and 9.3 drivers should also work in Win 7, follow this thread for links to the drivers.
It should also be pointed out that this thread was for the X1950 PCIE cards and not AGP
I installed 7 on a Dell Dimension 4600 1 GB Memory, ATI Video card, onboard sound. Everything seems to run fine but my audio. I had to install the latest AC97 drivers that just came out to get rid of the exclamation point in Device manager. When I click on the speaker icon or go to properties it shows sound is going through but nothing comes out the speakers. I have a second HD with XP and the sound works fine so I know my hardware is OK. Any suggestions to get my sound working?

First of all my computer specs listed are for my home laptop but my question is for my work PC which I recently upgraded to Windows 7.upgradede my work PC from XP to 7 a few weeks ago. Prior to the upgrade I ran the upgrade advisory tool and I knew I would have a few minor issues (this being one of them) but for the most part everything should be fine. My problem is that I cannot get my audio to work. I have an exact same machine still running XP and according to that, my audio is using a realtec ac 97' audio driver. I have obviously tried searching and downloading of windows 7 compatable drivers for that hardware. but nothing seems to work.
First of all every driver I have found and tried are self installing ".exe" driver files and cannot find anything where I can manually install through the "add new hardware wizard". The problem with the .exe files is that some of them say "this version is not supported my this version of windows" others freeze halfway through installation, and others seem like they have installed correctly giving me a prompt saying so and requiring me to restart, but once restarted, still nothing.I have also tried running each of the driver installations in "XP compatability mode" but still the same problems described above. I had a similar issue with my graphics driver and solved it by installing a legacy driver for it. I have tried the same for this audio driver, but like I stated before I only have .exe installation files and cannot manualy search for the driver to install the legacy driver. I do have the original driver (XP driver) that came with my computer and obviously tried that one, but notihng I have tried has worked for me.
i bought a brand new Dell Inspiron N5110 and after a a month the pc became so slow even though i had only the pre-installed softwares on it and microsoft office 2010 professional plus.i did a fresh windows 7 ultimate x64 installation on it and afterwards i have been a ble to install all the drivers except for this network controller driver which wont let my wi-fi work. I have been at it for almost a week with no good results.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an emachines em355 netbook with a Windows 7 professional in it. My webcam doesn't seem to work. I mean, it's working but i need a third-party application(Skype, webcam browser app like Neave) in order to use it. The device manager says it's installed and works just fine. How can i access my webcam directly? I saw other laptops and they have this webcam icon when you open My Computer. Mine doesn't have any. Also, I installed every available/recommended/compatible driver, each was installed perfectly but still, no direct access to webcam.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently gave vista the boot installed windows 7 on my Toshiba satellite A200-FT3 laptop. Everything went great however the touchpad doesn't seem to be functioning.
I've already installed the latest synaptic driver. The device manager even says that the device is 'working properly' however i can't get the pointer to move using the touchpad.
The 'Fn' functions work:
Fn+F7 to brighten
Fn+F6 to darken.
EXCEPT the touchpad: Fn+F9.
Does anybody have any ideas?
I keep getting that error while playing Skyrim on my GTX 295. It's not just Skyrim, it happens with Crysis 2 VERY often, like every 20 seconds, it happens with Deus Ex, only once though, as it crashes to desktop afterwards. I have tried every possible driver combination, i updated to the latest beta driver and it still happens. I ran the program in XP compatibility, ran it in Iobit's Game Mode (which disables some services), and as Administrator mode. It still happens.I ran it windowed, and also ran it as Single GPU card (which reduced the frequency of this happening, but didn't stop it), ultimately, i ran out of ideas.Whenever i turn my computer off for 15 minutes or so, the game runs fine for 3 hours at least. My first thought was overheating, but i used EVGA Precision to measure the temperature, and it didn't go higher than 60 C when it crashed. It did, however, report a sudden spike of GPU- A usage to 100% when the error message appeared, but B remained constant.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using Windows 7 since beta and now I'm with Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
During BETA I was using just one monitor (Samsung 732NPlus).
Since the final release of Windows 7 I've bought a second monitor (LG W2252TQ).
I'm using them together (Samsung with RGB connector, LG with DVI).
Since the final release I'm having the same problem from time to time: "The graphics card driver stopped and resumed".
During this, my screen freezes black for 1 to 3 secs.
I have already tried the latest BETA from NVIDIA and also the STABLE one.
It's the same with drivers from Windows Update.
I've disabled the option to get drivers from WinUpdate.
Removed all drivers and installed NVIDIA.
Just the same...
Strange is WHEN this happens:
- NOT during gameplay
- NOT every every time
This happens while using Visual Studio (usually coding), Word, Notepad (o.o'') and sometimes while surfing web. Any clues? For now I just can't format my HD again but I'll try this within a month it this error persists.
