I have had this computer for only a short time and it is brand new. My laptop is an HP Pavilion and has 8g of ram and 750 hard drive. I have been getting a lot of blue screens that usually say "Driver IRQL Not Less Or Equal." I have also been having audio problems. There is a static sound over any audio that I play. I have contacted HP (Hp laptop) and I was told to update the audio driver, but nothing was fixed. I have also been having issues with the battery not locking properly as if there is not enough room for everything to fit. I am a college student and cannot afford to send anything in for repairs.

My Windows is Window 7 64 bit that came pre-installed.I purchased this computer about 2 weeks ago November 2011 and I have never re-installed the OS.I have gotten this particular blue screen error ever since I started installing initial applications into the computer. I just removed Zone Alarm but I still want this application to run on this computer. I am not sure if it is Zone Alarm or another application. I am attaching the BSOD dump and system file collection files as well as the System Health Report.

I have gotten this blue screen with the words "driver not less than or equal". I don't know what else was on the screen. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, version 6.1. Previous to getting the "driver not less than or equal" screen, I had gotten a screen that said something like "Bad pool header" as well....

I am trying to clean install win 7 prof 64 bit without success. According to windows advisor, i had no hardware issues. I can't even install it. Every time it advances to completing installation and then BSOD.
Every error codes: Ox0000001e, 000000c5, irql less nor equal, bad pool header etc. I don't remember all of them as I can't debug as the OS never installed. I checked the HD for bad sectors. I checked memory for faults (with windows memory diagnostic tool). Then I reinstalled vista business 32 bit and no problems. Any idea?
I have a vaio z 590n with following sepc:
2.53 core 2 duo
4gig Elipida RAM

My problem started today when i disassembled my computer to clear out the dust (oh my god so much dust) When i put it back together, i started getting constants BSOD, (IRQL, page fault, drivers, etc), i was going to format anyway so i started in safe mode (got i few bsods but managed to log in) backed up important data in an external hard drive, and made a fresh clean windows 7 x64 install. Now i randomly get IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSODs. i read that it can be caused by faulty memory, but memtestx86 showed no errors.
My computer:
MOBO: ASUS Crosshair V Formula
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz Deneb
Memory: 6GB (3x2gb) Kingston KVR1333D3N9/G2
Graphics: nVidia GT 430

This is on a Vista upgraded to a Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6550 2,33 Ghz and 2 GB RAM.The problems started slowly but now it's getting very bad, such as I'm forced to use "save mode" to write this. The PC is protected by Kaspersky. As read in other threads I did the TDSSkiller as well as the Malwarebytes - nothing found.Hereafter a "bluescreenview" which, I hope, will help to identify the problem. I understand there's something wrong with ataport.sys but I don't know what to do next. [code]

Windows 7 has been very stable most of the time, but today I have had 2 crashes saying DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL and then just rebooted.
Does this mean I need to reinstall W7, or should I just chalk it up as a beta error?

YES- Retail- 1.5 - 2 year old system- Original OS install (have not had to re-install Windows 7)I'm about to swap the motherboard out for an M5A99X Evo but want to make sure it's the MB that's bad, first... It worked pretty awesome. Before I installed Pro tools, occasionally when I would put it in sleep mode it would turn off by itself a few hours later. This did not happen very often tho. So a few days ago I got Pro Tools M-Powered 9. This is a version which should be compatable with Windows 7 64 bit. After it was installed and restared, Pro Tools worked perfectly. I used it for 4 hours or so and shut down my computer when I was done. The next day when I turned on my computer, it froze at the windows logo screen. I was only able to get to my desktop through safe mode and I uninstalled pro tools the proper way with the cd. After I uninstalled it my computer worked that night, but the next day I had the same freezing problem. So I dont know if this is because of pro tools or my computer parts dont match up well and it was a matter of time until this would happen. I dont even know what customer service to call: pro tools? MSI? Windows? eitherway im sure all of their customer service would suck.

I've been having this problem for about one year now and I decided it's time I sought online help. My PC is about 2 and a half years old and the current windows installation is roughly 2 years old (windows 7 professional x64 from microsoft academic alliance).Crashes/freezes happen at random times (I had gone about a month with none) and not when a particular program is running. I've attached minidump files and system health report.

After it boots though vista it goes to a grey screen then all of a sudden a ERROR comes up in what looks like a text document.

I'm weeks of spasmodic attempts into replacing my old C-drive with a new SSD and a clean install of Windows 7, 32 bit. Here's the current loop: Following Sandisk's instructions on formatting SSD for use as OS with Win 7:
1) I verify BIOS - SATA is (as before) set to ACHI
2) I place Windows 7 upgrade disc in drive, hoping to use "Option 1 - normal clean install" (from Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version )
3) I get "Windows Error Recovery" screen, stating "windows did not shut down normally" (white text on black screen), with two options - start normally, or startup repair.
- if I select "start normally," it merely returns (after a minute or two) to the same Error Recovery screen after some POSTs (nothing other than single-beep) - no request for my input, no "press any key," etc.
- if I select default ("startup repair") option load: "Windows cannot repair this computer automatically" ultimately results after a lot of attempting to repair, etc.
PC will still run Ok from old HD when connected, and shows the SSD in Disk Management with a "System Reserved" 100 MB (F) partition along with a 112GB (E) partition. I keep thinking I need to wipe those and try again, but not sure how or if that's even worth trying. I did have the same SSD up and running Win 7 for a brief time - didn't start at some point afterwards...

My laptop goes totally black for about 2 -3 seconds, and then completely recovers. A pop-up error message then says:"Display Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."This has now happened several times, at random, while I'm on my laptop. Doesn't seem to matter what I'm working on at the time.

Yesterday I bought a new ASUS A55A laptop and was installing basic programs (Chrome, iTunes, Photoshop). I installed EASEUS partition manager and tried to resize the partitions. I tried because there was an error and now Windows will not boot.So.I read up on the subject: tried to active the ASUS recovery using F9, doesn't work. I opted to try and reinstall Windows using both an installation DVD and USB. Easy enough, just that I get prompted to look for the CD/DVD unit's driver.I've read various threads about it, but none of the things I've tried (different USB ports, downloading all sorts of drivers from the official ASUS page) seem to work.

Could anybody help me out with this or point me in the right direction?
Whenever I try and install Windows 7 build 7068 or 7077 the installation process freezes and after a while i get a "DRIVER_STATE_POWER_ERROR", If I then restart the machine the installation process starts up again but just hangs.
I have tried this with both a clean install and an upgrade and I get the same thing.
However, build 7000 and build 7057 install fine.
I am using a gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H motherboard with the Nvidia 9400 chipset with a mirrored RAID configuration on two of the hard disks. The windows partition is on a non raided disk. The video is outputted via HDMI and the audio via optical to my AV reciever (Harman Kardon AVR-255)
also another thing, build 7057 seems to work fine as I am using it only as media center. HD video, dixv, mp3, recorded and live TV are all fine in media center and the configuration to pass DOLBY, DTS and AC3 5.1 surround sound to my AV reciever works perfectly. However, whenever I try to play a DVD, the screen stutters and flickers every few seconds as though the signal is lost. If i plug the HDMI cable directly in to my samsung plasma, the problem goes away!
If this was happening with all video I could put it down to the nvidia drivers not sending a correctly formatted signal, but it is only with DVD playback. I have tried the drivers which were installed automatically with win7 and the nvidia windows 7 beta drivers and I still get the same problem.
