I have a PB Easy Note MX, unfortunately I do not know if it is M36, M37 or M52 because the sticker is gone! I boughyt it about 4 years ago. How do I know which sound driver to download? I have recently installed Windows 7.

Another index/search problem that I just can't seem to stop, ...and that is the indexing of Microsoft 2007 "Onenote". I've already searched for threads/and read many tutorials on this issue of the indexing & search and read many from Shawn (Brink) and they work for most objects when de-selected in control panel / index options, but with "OneNote", this stubborn sob, will keep adding itself back to the index once its opened the next time. When in the control panel/index options, their its sits all by itself. Its always listed by itself and is not buried in the users folders where the onenote directories & backup's are. When I un-tick "OneNote" in Ctrl panel / Index Options and then select rebuild, it remains unlisted, as its not even seen anymore in the list. But once I open "OneNote", and go to index options, sure enough its listed and checked again, and is being indexed. I've tried going into Local group policy editor "Search" and tried removing by the path to the OneNote Folders and Files. It was done so by path.
There are a few things MS seem to be missing the point on in Windows 7. One is the ability to quickly stick a note on the desktop by right-clicking and going to "New->Sticky Note". I remember adding something to the "New" menu in XP some time back so I'm wondering if there's a way to do this.
i have installed ms office 2007. and i m using the one note there. i want to ask you that which type of data stored in one note back up files. means that is it stores all the information like cut copy paste or audio video data?
My neighbor uses Windows 7 Backup & Restore. We tried to restore a file, but it will not restore the file. The detailed note states "Restore Skipped Restoring the C:Locationfilename" It gives no reason and wonder if we are missing something?
I mostly use my computer for photography. I keep a folder on my desk top where I store photos that I have printed.I also write adjustments I have made to the photos in "note pad" but find that I cannot move these files to the folder in which I want to keep them. Nothing I have tried works. Drag and drop doesn't work. Nor does using control+C and control+V.
I am trying to figure out a way to make it so that I can attach a note, whether it be a text file, or a pop-up box that the user must respond to, upon opening an application, such as Easy File Locker. The purpose of this would be to supply a brief instruction before the user uses the application. I don't know if there is a third party software out there that can do this or if I can do it somehow without any new software. Again, it would work in such a way that the not would be shown upon opening the application that it is attached to normally, just so that there could be some instruction before use.
I know about the ability to attach a note in the right click context menu when right clicking the application, but I need something that works like when you open the application the note is opened and shown on the screen before the application itself opens. Here are my specs:[CODE]
Can I use more than one dvd when using Easy Transfer? I am planning on doing a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate. I do not have an external hard drive at this time. I tried to use Easy Transfer on my Vista machine (before doing the clean install of windows 7) and the file it makes is bigger than the capacity of my DVD disks. Will it ask for the second disk when I try to put the easy transfer files onto the dvds.
Installed Windows 7 last night on my XP machine. Installation went through fine & is running like a dream. BUT I've got an issue recovering files via Easy Transfer...
Used it in XP to transfer files onto my 4g memory stick - used up about 2.4g. When it came to moving the files back over to Windows 7 via Easy Transfer I get an error message saying "Can't connect to Files".
My problem is I don't know if I can merge 2 different pc's into the new laptop using easy file transfer or will it wipe out the first transfer that I have already done? Different users on both old computers.
I'm getting ready to replace my son's hard drive (Dell computer) plus upgrade his OS from XP Pro to Windows 7 Home Premium. I've downloaded the XP version of Windows Easy Transfer and ran it backing up the files to an external drive but I'm wondering if something went wrong. Looking at the backed up file (on the external drive) it doesn't look like what I've seen in tutorials which shows an icon named Windows Easy Transfer - Items from old computer. The file I get is a file that doesn't know what program created it although the size seems right. I've ran Windows Easy Transfer twice with the same results.
Ok so i bought a Belkin Easy Transfer cable to use the Windows Easy Transfer feature, the reason being is that I have several PCs in the house, 2 of them are gaming PCs, the others are HTPCs, I also have a laptop and not to mention my sister & dad uses one too, so I often have to copy files across one another, whether it's a movie, game or whatever. The files i copy and share across the PCs are usually large in size, so the best way i found was to use an external hardrive to copy files to it, and then transfer the files to the PC i want to copy to.But doing this is slow and annoying, and my external hardrive is a piece of crap and often gets corrupted (it's a cheap Seagate brand and unreliable). So I thought, maybe I should buy a cable that lets me connect 2 computers through USB port, and transfer the files that way. So I did, I got the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable yesterday and it works really nicely, transfer speed is fast and no setup is required unless you're using Windows XP, but it's not complicated to setup anyway as it gives you a manual guide with pictures showing you what to do.
Anyway it works fine except that it takes a few minutes to establish connection and scan for the files on the system. Basically, you connect the cable, and you choose the system you want to copy the files "FROM" as 'Old Computer', and you choose the system you want to copy the files "TO", as 'New Computer', and then it'll start scanning for all the files you can copy on from the 'Old Computer' (because you're copying files "FROM" it). The scanning takes quite a bit of time, depending on the size of your hardrive and how many GBs of files you have on it, for me it took about 5 minutes since it was on a laptop with 150GB HDD.So my question is, is there any option to bypass this scanning process?? Because I only want to specify a certain amount of folders to be scanned as those are the folders that I copy files from all the time, there aren't any options on how to change this during the Windows Easy Transfer process. Also, is it possible for me to right click on a file or folder and send to the other PC through Windows Easy Transfer this way, instead of connecting them both and let it scan, and finally be able to select the files i want to copy?
I have a new computer (windows 7 64 bit) and my old computer is windows 7 32 bit. I connected both computers via gigbit router. When I load up windows easy transfer program on my old computer it gives me a 6 diget code, then load up my new computer windows easy transfer program and enter the code. They then try to connect but never do. It times out after a few minutes. Any ideas on what to do? They are both connected to the network and both are set up to share files. I can browse the internet with both but I cant connect the easy transfer program..
Is there any easy methods to migrate profile. i mean if we are changing profile all the old settings should come like desktop items and outlook mail configurations etc. into newly created profile.
Great forum you have here. I just recently did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on a computer I use for recording digital audio. For some reason, the Windows Easy Transfer dialog box keeps popping up, even though I'm not doing anything to initiate it. Any ideas as to how I can prevent this or disable it? I did a forum search before posting, and while I found a lot of threads about Windows Easy Transfer, I couldn't find any related to this specific issue. I'll be happy to provide additional details/technical info if requested.
Unless anyone has inside knowledge that ssd prices are going to half in next few months, Crucial M4 64GB at around $100 is just too tempting to ignore.
In my current setup, user profiles are already on a different partition. I'm looking for the best way to migrate as much settings as possible. Among programs I have to reinstall and config are vs2010, sql server 2008, office 2003, quicken, vmware. Glad I made concious decision to use as much portable programs as possible.
I have read up on how Windows Easy Transfer works and on the page that gives the options for storing the back up file, you have one option for External drive or USB external drive.
No mention is made of being able to use an already installed 2nd internal data drive. Has anyone been able to successfully use an internal drive with WET?
I am looking to backup my dvds for quick & easy access on the computer instead of having to search through & load up each one. What is the easiest way to do this in 7?
Currently have 2 monitors connected to my xfx ATI 5450 (has 3 ports: 1 DVI, 1 VGA and 1 HDMI however the box says it also supports displayPort so i presume that the HDMI is also the DP).I am currently using a vga and dvi port on this card and would like to connect another vga monitor.I currently have 1 VGA female to DVI male converter.
I 'm looking for easiest possibe way to switch between external monitor/external+internal extended view laptop LCD. Most likely this could be done by Fn+F8 which cycles among internal/external/internal+external (cloned). What I'd need is to cycle between External output only/internal+external (extended) and optionally internal only. So int+ext in cloned mode has no use for me. I know that it can be switched by Win+P which gives to choice whether cloned or extended view, but I'd like to have this changed in the cycle by Fn+F8 from cloned to extened, is that possible?
I am using The Easy Transfer utility to make copies of the files I want to keep once I have installed Windows 7 on my WinXP PC and I will be making the file on an internal hard disk drive, which is E: As the My Documents folder has been directed to my D: drive and WinXP is installed on my C: drive, do I have to include My Documents in Easy Transfer or will the clean install onto C: leave my D: and E: drives intact?
